How do ya'll feel about others making very similar looking toyhouse profiles for their characters?

This is such a small thing and it might not even be anything but I LOVE how the ground is drawn, with all the swishes and swirls and potentially some claw marks on the ground if I saw it right? It just makes the place feel very used and alive and it makes me very happy
Ahh - thank you so much, anon! We both have brushes that we use for textures etc. and we're shameless fans of "if there's a brush that cuts your workload in half, make/use it!". And yeah, while I do agree with basic advice like how the default Photoshop grass brush with default settings isn't the best for making grass with, I don't think there's any harm in using other grass brushes etc. if it gets the job done. Using brushes effectively and "properly" certainly has a steep learning curve though! lol - RJ
It's really not so hard to believe that a disabled animal can survive, because they literally do in real life! And they aren't just ostracized for being disabled in many cases. I remember a few years back, I was driving at night and stopped because I saw a young buck trying to cross the road in front of me while obviously favoring one leg. I was watching him, then turned to see a huge stag eying me from the side of the road nearest my car. I looked to the other side and realized that a doe was waiting for the injured buck to get across. Once he was there, the bigger stag crossed the road and the trio continued on their way.
That's actually amazing considering how deer are prey animals as opposed to lions and need to be able to outrun predators. Clearly, the buck adapted to the injury and was able to get around to some degree with the rest of his herd's support but it's still incredible nonetheless! Sometimes, people (including myself) also don't realise how resilient deer can be. They may look fragile at first glance but they're super hardy critters. c: - RJ

Not us, personally. But I believe there's some fan playlists floating about Spotify if they're searchable. I don't know how Spotify really works on that front, I'm sorry. ^^;; - RJ
I love your artstyle and how gender ambiguous and diverse it is, usually is just:
Lion: big, buff, with mane, square or sharp features
Lioness: maneless, round features, eyelashes
Also, for some reason when I saw Hope and Storm at first, I thought they were two boys before I heard the comic dubs and realize they were girls lol
Thank you! I try to keep gender ambiguous and diverse. Nature doesn't care about human social constructs. Yeah male lions are usually bigger than the females and lions are one of those animals that have more obvious sexual dimorphism but. Not always lol And even if we're not trying to be "realistic", why not strive for gender ambiguity where I can anyway. - Cat
Not only are you two AMAZING artists, but you're also such GREAT writers! All the tips you guys give, from the review you did of MP to the anonymous asks, help me a lot with my own writing. You are professional artists? And do you two have other big projects besides the comic? Do you also plan to create another story/universe after IHS is completed?
And when/if you get tired of lions or animal fiction theme and become completely interested in another topic, what do you do to avoid letting that distract you from the story? (Sometimes I struggle with this when I'm writing my own things. I lose interest in a topic for a while and don't finish writing ðŸ˜)
Neither of us are professionals. We're just passionate. lol And we do have another project planned aside from IHS. We've gone through several concepts but we've finally settled on one we're both super excited for. As for your last question, I think you're going to have to try and juggle your project somehow in your other interests to maintain any oomf for it. Try writing one-shots with side characters or characters you haven't really fully developed. Failing that, perhaps try and talk out your OCs and their stories with somebody so you can keep up a pace even when you're working on other stuff. - RJ
