Hello! I got this ring from my paternal grandmother when I was a kid, after I fished it out of an air vent. If I remember correctly, it either belonged to her aunt or great aunt, and I know Grandma was born sometime in the 1920s, moved into that house sometime in the 1950s (house itself was built 1930s)
Long story short, how old could this ring be, and how would I go about getting it repaired/restored? The garnet's metal overlay (not prongs) has run thin and I fear it would be lost.
This ring is absolutely beautiful 😍. It looks late victorian or early edwardian era to me. (1880's to 1910's). I would ask around in your area of a reputable jeweler you could take it to to have the stones secured. I would not alter this ring in any way other than to possibly re-size it. It's a great ring, you are very lucky to have it.
