Insecurity isn't something you'd associate with Liam...

You're having a fucking laugh, aren't you? The way he is, it's screaming insecurity. Y'know, the having it out with photographers, the look and all that, that's the shield, man. D'you know what I mean? And the giving it the big "I am", that's just the fronting it. But he's a mouse. Seriously.

A 41-year-old world-famous musician happily stuck in his ways, there's no taking Noel Gallagher out of his comfort zone.

"I've spent 15 years building this," he announces, surveying his empire, his eyes creasing up with mischief again. "I ain't fucking going anywhere for anybody, d'you know what I mean? It's nice here."

What did the Gallaghers think about you going into therapy?

Liam was disgusted. He thinks you should deal with it yourself. But I explained, and then he kind of got it. They don't need therapy, those two. They've got such self-belief. They were born with something so valuable, some kind of inner fire which will always keep them going.

Noel and Liam both seem calmer these days. Are Oasis's days of bedlam over?

’Course they'll happen again. How many times have they said, "It's all calmed down." How many times? It is what it is. When serious things happen, it's horrible, but this is the life. This is it. I don't like them little segments but they happen. And they'll happen again, ’course they will, there's no chillin' going down. I knew what it was like before joining. I remember Marcus [Russell, Oasis's manager] going, "A month will feel like a year." Wiser words have never been said. I don't know what that makes me in dog years. It's been nine years. I'm 90. I'm Yoda.
