RECOVERY UPDATE! From the time I fractured my elbow until about a few weeks ago I had to wear several different splints. I fuckin' hated all of them! Most of the pain I encountered during my healing period was from them rather than my actual injury. Well now I don't need them anymore, and the last one I had to wear is gonna get the full extent of my wrath! I've already cut it in two. I thinking one half gets burned and the other gets drowned. You'll be able to see their destruction on my story. RECOVERY UPDATE! The worst part about surgery recovery is that you can't really do anything but sit around the house all day, everyday. This wouldn't normally be so bad because, you know, vidya. Unless of course you injure your arm in such a way that doesn't allow for you to properly hold a controller. It's a miserable existence until you're finally cleared to remove your bone/joint support and regain proper motor functions in your fingers. Well, guess who has working fingers!! RECOVERY UPDATE! For the past 4-5 weeks and until my first physical therapy appointment I have been setting short term goals for myself to help me exercise my arm. I can still remember my housemate laughing at me while I tried so hard to lick my finger after eating and then shortly after laughing at me while I tried to scratch an itch on my nose. So my first goals were to touch my nose, then to touch my ear, to pick my fro, and to touch the back of my neck. My current goal is to be able flip the bird. What's up #instafam As you may already know, I fractured my elbow on July 17th and have been pretty much out of commission since then. I had to have cyborg surgery where I got screws and metal plates put in my arm to fix it up. It's been a long and tough recovery process and I'm thankful to all the peeps that have helped and have followed along for this journey. Today, I was finally able to schedule my first physical therapy appointment. I'll be started on Oct 23rd. I thought I'd chronicle this part of my recovery for you all starting with a before and after photo. The left photo is from the day of the fracture a couple of hours before it happened and the right is from today. I'll be posting photo and video updates if my progress and once I am cleared to workout, I'll be posting about my road back to fitness.
