So I finally decided to make a lego gearball, and omg it’s probably my favourite little fidget thing. I really like it for a few reasons:
All the gears actually work/spin.
The gears, when spun, remind me of fractal art (and I LOVE fractals)
The feeling/texture of the gears, spun or not, feels very nice.
And lastly, it’s LEGO!
Note: I did not design the gearball, I just built my own using my own parts. The original designer/builder is John Matz, and you can see him talk about his gearball in this video, & even buy your own gearball kit from him here.
