Amplifying Palestinian Voices

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib
Two days ago, Hamas put out a video through its official media channel, Al Jazeera Arabic, called “You Are From Us and We Are From You.” In it, the terror group was trying to say that they, too, just like the people of Gaza, had suffered, sacrificed, experienced hunger and extermination, endured bombardment and hardships, persevered through adversity, and refused to give up. The tone of the video was one-third begging for acceptance again, one-third a fake display of bravery and unity, and one-third arrogant lecturing and predicting that you’re stuck with us, no matter what. Interestingly and most remarkably, the backlash against the video was so severe that the post was taken down by Al Jazeera Arabic’s Palestine social pages. Gazans expressed unimaginable rage and fury at the terrorist organization for destroying their lives and refusing to end the war that it started, many vowing never to forgive Hamas and never again to consider the group legitimate or Palestinian. These feelings, ironically, are not shared or reflected by Hamas’s biggest supporters, who are hordes of misinformed and ignorant commentators in Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, the UK, France, Tunisia, Libya, and elsewhere around the world where masses of “pro-Palestine” folks still think that Hamas is loved and embraced by the people of Gaza.
I truly adore Gad Saad.

Hello, my name is Hanady Irheem. I’m a computer engineer and a mother to two beautiful children — Omar and Rafif.
I’m reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a humble plea for help. My family and I are among the countless innocent people suffering under the devastating war in Gaza. We have lost everything — our home, our jobs, and the sense of safety every family deserves.
Since the war began, we have been forced to flee from one place to another, searching for shelter, for hope, for life. When Rafif was born, it was under heartbreaking conditions — no food, no clean water, no safe place to sleep. Now she is one year and four months old, and the war still rages on.
My son Omar often asks me simple questions that tear me apart:
“Mama, when can I have my favorite fruit again — an apple?”
“When can I go to kindergarten? To the sea?”
And every time, I can only answer: “When the border opens, my love.”
Each day, I carry the pain of losing my father, who was killed in a sudden airstrike while trying to get us to safety. His only dream was to see us live a better life — a dream I still hold onto, despite everything.
Today, I’m asking for your support — not just for food or medicine — but for a chance to rebuild. Your donation will help us rent a safe place to stay and, eventually, pay for the coordination fees needed to cross the border into a safer country. A place where I can give my children the life they deserve. A place where we can pursue the dreams my father once had for us.
Please, help us take this first step toward safety and hope.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
From my heart to yours — thank you. 💔
