Disgusting.

I look into the mirror, and that's what I am.

A disgusting man.

A digusting creature.

A Nazi.

I look into the mirror and I just want to smash it.

Smash it so that I don't need to see my grotesque face again.

Smash it so that I won't be ashamed of myself.

And so I do.

I smash it. But each time I do, I'm reminded of how disgusting I am.

I see the shards of glass on the floor. I see myself in the pieces. But I don't see myself anymore.

I see a disgusting man.

And a voice in my head doesn't deny it.

I light a cigeratte. The smoke becomes a human soul. A ghost.

He tells me how ashamed he is of me.

Tells me I'm a disgrace.

Tells me I'm disgusting.

And I believe him.

Why would you do this, Thorvald?

I don't know...

Why are so disgraceful?

I don't know.

I DON'T KNOW!

I don't know anything.

All I know is that I am irredeemable.

And so I look in the mirror again.

I turn the hot water knob on the sink. The mirror fogs up. I can't see myself anymore.

I smear my finger on the mirror in the shape of a swastika.

You disgust me, Thorvald.

I know.

You're a horrible person.

I know.

You're a Nazi.

...

I know.

That's the only thing I know.

That's the only thing I'll ever know.
