I’m tired of being forced to explain that I DO want a serious relationship to my (straight) friends who apparently think that being single is a choice I’ve made. No, I haven’t chosen to be treated like shit by guys. No, I haven’t asked to be lied to and led on by douchebags. And no, I don’t enjoy hooking up with guys and never hearing from them again after being told that they were at least looking for some kind of fwb situation. I hook up, because that’s my only option when all of the men I meet are too self-absorbed to put effort into developing any kind of relationship. It’s either hook up or be celibate, and I would be even more miserable if I didn’t at least get laid every once in a while. I will be 30 soon, and it won’t get any easier to find someone... The future is bleak.
