Not only are these Piped Buttercream Sunflower Cupcakes tasty, they are also very nicely decorated to look like sunflowers. They're great as a treat for any event, from birthdays to garden parties. The chocolate chip center and piped buttercream petals make a beautiful sunflower shape that will wow your guests.

Ingredients: 1 box of your favorite cupcake mix. Eggs, oil, and water as required by the cupcake mix. 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened. 4 cups powdered sugar. 1/4 cup milk. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Yellow gel food coloring. Chocolate chips for the sunflower seeds. Green food coloring for the leaves. Cupcake liners.

Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to make the cupcake mix. Fill each cupcake liner about two thirds of the way to the top with batter and put them in a cupcake pan. After following the directions, let the cupcakes cool all the way down. Put the softened butter in a bowl and beat it until it is smooth and creamy. One cup at a time, add the powdered sugar and keep beating until everything is well mixed. Then add the vanilla extract and milk. Beat the buttercream on medium-high speed for two to three minutes, until it is light and fluffy. Mix the yellow gel food coloring into the buttercream until the sunflower petals are the shade of yellow you want them to be. As soon as the cupcakes are cool, put the yellow buttercream into a piping bag with a big star tip. To make the shape of a sunflower, pipe petals around the edge of each cupcake. To make the sunflower seeds, put a chocolate chip in the middle of each cupcake. To make green frosting for the leaves, mix a little green food coloring with some extra white buttercream in a small bowl. With a leaf tip or a small round tip, pipe green leaves around the sunflower petals' bases. Give the cupcakes a few minutes to cool down so the buttercream can get a little firmer. Put your Piped Buttercream Sunflower Cupcakes out for everyone to enjoy!
