There is some disagreement as to whether this was an original concept, or based on a Gamera film project that was abandoned when the studio, Daiei Film, went bankrupt in the early 1970s. It is known that Gamera's opponent was to be a giant two-headed serpent, which was referred to as "W," so that may be where the confusion stems from.

Here is the final of the Showa Gamera Villains, as well as the only monster I drew that never was actually in a full length movie, the Snake Giant Wicked Beast, Garasharp!

Garasharp is super cool, and I know that every kaiju I've drawn as been in a film, but I wanted to draw her because she looks awesome and actually should be in a film or show one day. She was in a 1991 short film called Gamera vs Garasharp, which is available on Youtube for free, where it showed both live action parts and concept art of what would have been her battle with Gamera, she used her tongue to absorb Gamera's energy by shoving it down his throat, then after recovering, Gamera faces Garasharp again and after she ate explosives and Gamera breathed fire down her throat and brutally decapitated her. But then Two Babies that came out of her body. Luckily, Gamera flew them to an Island, took out their fangs and horns and spared them.

But probably Garasharp's most significant role as of now, was in Matt Frank's Prequel Comic to the Heisei Trilogy, showed that a number of Garasharp is what caused the Ancient Atlantean civilization to create Gyaos which in turn created Gamera to fight off the Gyaos which turned against Humanity after the Garasharps were all dead and eaten. Then the Largest Garasharp and a horde of Gyaos attacked which caused Gamera having no choice but to destroy the civilization and save Humanity.

I really like Garasharp and she really should be On screen one day, she has a lot of potential and like all of Gamera's villains, is really underrated. Hope you like it!

For my design, I mostly used the Showa design and abilities, but made her skin pattern realistic to a real Cobra, and I made my own patterns on her frills.

The idea is that a group of humans wants Gamera dead (this is after the baby Gamera is grown up) so they find a way to kidnap Garasharp's babies. The people will use the babies as blackmail for Garasharp. To kill Gamera and you might get your kids back type of thing.

Gamera and Garasharp would have some fights, the last one would lead Gamera to where the Garasharp babies are. Gamera's focus on the fight with Garasharp changes to saving the babies. During this, Garasharp doesn't know what Gamera is doing and she still is throwing blows at him. Gamera will manage to save the babies and stop the bad people with him passing out of exhaustion.

Garasharp was about to leave with just her and the kids but decided to drag the passed out Gamera. She sees it as fair to save him because he saved her kids. Garasharp helps Gamera heal and when he wakes up the first time after the last fight, Garasharp would back up in fear of Gamera attacking her due to her attacking him but Gamera doesn't. He just seems happy that she and the kids are safe

There are a few fans that drew fan art, me included. I wrote two fanfiction with her being Gamera's friend/on his side. Both fics total 58 chapters.

I want to see a fanfic that is not mine where Gamera and Garasharp become friends and Gamera helps with her twins 😭.
