Decided to finally crack open this Gameboy I modded some years back to practice testin/IDing components for my plane exam. It worked for the 1st time I played it, but stopped working afterwards. I assumed it was always just my batteries, so I'd charge em up and forget about a bit.
:')) i found out why it wouldn't turn on no matter how many batteries I'd put in it at random intervals, thinking they just needed recharging
My poor attempt at using soldering glue way back when I didn't have a proper soldering station yet uh apparently slipped before it cured properly and glued 2 capacitors together with the new backlit screen wires. It also apparently blew up a set batteries I forgot about for some time (and likely most other batteries I've put in here) & the acid from those leaked thru the whole Gameboy, it ate the plastic shell, solders, and many components. 😅 well, I'll see if I can salvage it
