Finished Great God Grove
Boy, I gotta tell ya, that's a hell of an experience... So delightful and charming, and a wonderful lil tale, with a lot to say. Gonna have to chew on it for a while before my thoughts on it go beyond "Woaw.... so cool." but yeah, that game is a GENUINE treat, and I HIGHLY reccomend anyone who hasn't yet, to play it.

katamari damacy is interesting because you would think it would be 100% a child's power fantasy (destroying towns, running down a hill really fast, your mom being wrong about something) but it is also a game that is all in on this kind of dark satire type father figure who will never really be proud of you. I think the king is hilarious don't get me wrong, I just think it's kind of interesting how the game is split between the world is your oyster/you will never be taken seriously, you are a kaiju level threat/you are an oversized dung beetle. Not to take katamari damacy 2004 too seriously but this is kind of true to the experience of being a kid
I love how Merrin has such strong ties to Dathomir as her home planet in contrast to Cal who has no 'home'.
Cal's home was the order and we all know that ended. The Empire forced him to leave the only home he had ever know. Bracca was less of a home and more of a hiding place. There is a line of dialogue where Cal mentions that he doesn't remember his parents. He doesn't know his homeworld and with the Jedi archives lost, it is likely that information is lost forever.
Merrin was able to leave her homeworld on her own terms and was able to explore the galaxy on her terms.
Cal was (most likely) taken from his own world and explored the galaxy because he was a child soldier. He didn't even get to leave Bracca, his adoptive home, on his own terms. He was forced to leave because of the Empire.
For a while, The Mantis crew was his home. He lost that.
Tanalorr might be home but there will always be a sour memory associated with the planet and the temple there.
In a galaxy of a thousand worlds, Cal has no where to call home.
Hey Eden's Garden fans, who wants to know the answer to the Tozu plush / traitor perk puzzle? If you do, I solved it (ФωФ)
For anyone curious as to why, I love math. They said it was a math puzzle and a coordinate plane, which are both things I love so I had to, that and I couldn't find anyone else online who has solved or even wanted to.
As for how, it was quite simple, actually. I immediately assumed the 10. 10 was the domain and range, the interval being [-10,10] for both the x & y axes. So, I took the ending points of the large 4 point star behind mini Tozu and marked the little stars in relation. That got me to the answer of either 8365 or 6583, but I think 8365 is more likely. You're welcome any other pjeg fans who had to have an answer. You can always count on math nerds to solve your problems (^з^)-☆
Shout out to Wolf's Japanese VA in Sekiro for making him sound awkward af all the time rather than stoic, it makes him about 10 times more endearing lmao.

Somewhat more developed Mina the Hollower thoughts:
Altogether it sets out what it aims to do very very well. I strongly recommend it if you think it’s your niche of game.
Exploration and movement are undeniably its main strengths. Once you get the hang of the controls (which will take a small bit) Mina feels great to maneuver around and finding every little nook and cranny is a delight. I go back and forth on whether I think needing to jump before burrowing is a good or bad design element, but I can understand it being contentious for some.
If the game has any particular flaw, it’s that the difficulty curve is kinda backwards. The game is definitely the toughest at the start by a good margin and doesn’t give you as many tools as I think it should right off the bat, but towards the end you almost have too many tools and you can brute force a lot of obstacles because of it.
I also think some of the trinkets and upgrades should have been cut and just made part of Mina’s base characteristics (iron lung’s burrow time, the boots that make you unhindered by grass and stairs, and the tank for keeping your last equipped firearm after death, to name a few). You get so many trinket slots by the last third of the game that they might as well be default traits.

So I just got to Commorragh, and I love how after you get tortured and thrown in a pile of corpses, you can go: "I could really use a cup of coffee rn"-

I finally got to Marzipan as well, and I have to say reading the Dark Eldar trilogy at the same time is really giving insight into Drukhari culture (i.e. backstabbing) and that letting him walk to the arena would be insulting. But you know, I am big on role play. I know that, but my RT DOESN'T. I am curious to see how dialogues will go when i recruit him😂
And who is the jester-esque masked person. They have charmed me with their speech in prose.
Sadly, my binging session was interrupted by a huge storm yesterday, so I'll continue later today! Absolutely loving this game so far!
