I know this is gauche, but I have to let you know that I would comment the heck out of an update (or conclusion) to “The Lost Astronaut”.

They’re permanently lost in space to me… can’t we please bring them home?

Thank you for your patient and enduring love for The Lost Astronaut - as someone who is pining after multiple seemingly abandoned WIPs in multiple fandoms, I do understand 😭.

There is a ton of IRL stuff going down that prevents us from writing right now, but please rest assured that both @gallifreyburning and I ARE COMMITTED to bringing J03 and Nicky home! Even before the long hiatus there was a tentative plot structure discussed as well as a good mutual understanding of where this things was headed, and we miss our creative collaboration just as much 😭.

Joe and Nile have been raised by witches. They both want something different out of life and out of love -- namely, Nile wants to experience the magic of everything, and Joe wants to use his magic to protect himself from the fallout of passion that can go wrong. But one day when Nile brings trouble home with her in the form of a dead man, and a detective named Nicolo who comes looking for answers, Joe is forced to confront everything he's spent his entire life trying to avoid.

It was born out of a trope reversal fest - Joe and Nicky have been travelling together for a while, and all Joe is hoping for is that in the bustling city they're stopping in, the inn will have only a room with one bed left for them.

why? well the thing is, while travelling, they have actually constantly been snuggling with each other when asleep, both thinking the other had no clue this was happening. and yusuf would like to turn this mutual snuggling into an even more mutual arrangement. but when they get to the inn there is what? you guessed it, more than one bed 😁

He lay there for an impossible amount of time, trying to soak in the warmth of the dying fire and of Yusuf before it was time to return to the other side. Only when he’d steeled himself enough to move, he found that he couldn’t. Yusuf’s arm had snaked around his middle, and his hand had found a spot in the centre of his chest. Gone were the snuffling shivers, and instead Nicolò could feel Yusuf breathing evenly into the bone at the top of his spine, his body a pleasant weight all around him. If he had wanted to, he could have left. He could have picked up Yusuf’s arm right there and then to extract himself and never spoken a word of it again. He didn’t.

Oh my friend, I was once unenlightened just like you. I moved to Nebraska and was treated to a chili cookoff at work, where, inexplicably, there was a basket of cinnamon rolls next to all these pots of chili. “What the fuck,” I asked myself, much like you are probably doing now. Imagine my shock when I saw these crazy Nebraskans dipping their cinnamon rolls in their chili! And then, seeing my distaste, my coworkers peer pressured encouraged me to give it a try.

And then. And THEN. That first dunk made me see God. The cinnamon so beautifully accentuates the spices! The sugar so subtly mellows out the heat! It’s truly such a delight and I never want to eat chili any other way again.

In 1987, Torres' partner Ross Laycock was diagnosed with AIDS. Influenced by the idea that "art should act right now," Torres created three editions of the piece and one artist's proof from 1987–1990. In a letter sent to Laycock in 1988, he showed a rough sketch of the piece, entitled merely Lovers. In the letter Torres ruminates about time, writing:

Don't be afraid of the clocks, they are our time, the time has been so generous to us. We imprinted time with the sweet taste of victory. We conquered fate by meeting at a certain time in a certain space. We are a product the time, therefore we give back credit were it is due: time. We are synchronized, now forever. I love you.
