The red stick in this post is called 秤杆/Cheng Gan. In traditional Chinese weddings, when the bride and groom are in the bridal chamber, the groom uses it to lift the bride’s red bridal veil (called 盖头/Gai Tou). Below - standard Cheng Gan and Gai Tou:

The act is not to check if the bride is ugly - it actually has the symbolic meaning of “称心如意/chen xin ru yi”, which means “(to let the newlyweds) be completely satisfied in their hearts”.

18. what’s the most prominent dream you’ve had?

probably this pregnancy dream i had. it was crazy because it didn’t feel like a dream at all, but moreso i jumped an alternate timeline and i could see and remember all the memories they had. in this life i was some big wig movie producer and we were on set then this man comes up to me saying that he didn’t want anything from me, but just a question. so i was like ok? whats up? he states he’s my son and he just wanted to ask why i gave him up, that baffled me because it was true!!! in this body i did have the memory that i had a baby, but it was muddled out so i couldn’t give him a reason. i just stood there crying and taking him in, he was beautiful and well put together. anyways after that heartfelt encounter i showed him around my job and we had like a reunion day or something.

yes ! i use to maladaptive daydream badly a few years back, but i’ve been trying to keep myself grounded as of late. mostly i get fixated on something and it becomes everything so i spend time daydreaming about world building within that fixation.
