I just massively projected on my dnd character. For context my character is Gaston which I originally did for shits and giggles when I played Gaston in a chorus concert but he's had a character arc after LeFou died. He loved him and he's gone. As my own state has declined, he has developed accordingly. He feels lonely, betrayed. He tells himself he's friends with a character who thinks he's annoying. He sacrifices for and defends this character but the character doesn't care. Today they caught a villain and learned that the kingdom the party's going to be fighting for is terrible. Gaston wants to go rogue and slowly take down both kingdoms but both other party members wanted to stay teamed up to defeat the common enemy which is another kingdom. Gaston is greatly frustrated. He wants to stick with his "friend" but they have such a radically different opinion and didn't even care about his opinion. Gaston sees no point without LeFou. He wants to live happily but he sees everything as grey.
