🇬🇦 Samuel L. Jackson’s journey to Gabon became more than a visit—it was a return to his ancestral roots. After genealogy research linked part of his family heritage to the Benga people of Gabon, the Hollywood actor traveled to the Central African nation, where he received a traditional welcome and was honored as a “lost son.”
During the visit, he took part in cultural ceremonies and learned about the customs and history of the local community.
His experience highlighted how DNA and historical research are helping many people of African descent reconnect with the lands and cultures from which their ancestors were taken during the transatlantic slave trade.
