In the Mikazuki clan, the women are trained to heal people. However, their style is different from the typical medical ninjutsu that the people of the 5 Great Nations use. The woman would channel chakura into their hands. And pour their chakura into a person's body. Creating a layer of healing chakura over their hands. like a glove.

This is different from the typical medical ninjutsu

Ex.

The typical glow resembles a small flame that erupts from the hands.

While the Mikazuki clan's style is a bit more focused and precise. When the chakura is poured into the whole hand. This allows the person's chakura to be in a much more focused control. Because the chakura is pouring from the fingers and into the body. Through the many sweat pores. Like how the spout of a teapot pours the tea into a cup.

And when it water. The healing energy ripples from their hands. Sending a healing pulse to the injured person. As if literally washing away the wound. (ex: think of a bat using echolocation.)

In the event of multiple injured people, Mizu can channel her chakura into her water so that it washes over the injured party. Healing them all simultaneously.

This is only 1 of 2 different forms of the clans healing.

To keep Mizu safe. Her family chose a different name. So from now on Mizu's full name is Mizu Koyama.

After Mizu and her family moved to Konoha.

Things were peaceful. Until a few years later things started to get a bit complicated for Mizu and her family.

After the first 2 years of moving to the Leaf village, rumors were spreading around the village that Mizu and her family were war refugees. This causes at lot of uneasiness with the rest of the villagers. Thus some of the people would either treat them with disrespect or even ignore them out of fear that the war that they escaped from would follow them.

Mizu was experiencing the same reticule at the academy. The kids would bully her and make fun of her hair. Calling it dirty or Muddy.

One girl in particular dumped a bucket of water on her head, thinking that she could "Wash away" the dirt from her hair.

Thus, Mizu's new look.

Mizu was always proud to wear her hair down. letting her rich chocolate brown hair fall gracefully down her back in lovely waves. But, children being children were influenced by their parents' fears and began teasing Mizu and making fun of her hair.

Not seeing any way to prevent this war. The head of the Mikazuki clan, (Mizu's father) makes a deal on the mainland to allow the children to live in one of the villages. Now the plan is to change all the children's identities and have them take on a new name and life away from the violence that will soon break out.

One child in particular is Mizu Mikazuki. Her family is having her change her identity and take on a new name for her to flee her beloved homeland. She has to leave her birthplace so she could have a chance a life. However, the escape plan does not go according to the original plan. And Mizu experiences a tragedy that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

The plan was for the women and children to hide in the leaf village. but they would only allow children between the ages of 6 and 16 to enter. Sadly this means that Mizu's twin brothers had to stay behind to help fight the war. Her older brothers were 18 at the time so they couldn't join her or their mother to the mainland.

However, things take a tragic turn....

During the night of the massacre, the last and only ally of the Mikazuki clan betrays them. While the men of the Kasai clan battle the warriors of the Mikazuki clan. Their last and only ally leads a small group of men to kill off the woman and children while they attempt to escape.

Unfortunately, Mizu bears witness to the death of her people and the death of one of her brothers.

As a last desperate act, Mizu's father has her memories sealed away with the peacock seal. Tamahome puts the seal on her and promises to remove the seal when Mizu is of age to inherit her duties not just as the daughter of the head of the Mikazuki clan, but also as the next co-ruler of the Lokamisa Islands.

And so...

Around the time Mizu turned 6 years old, the head of the Kasai clan was plotting to take full control of the Lokamisa Island. And to do that, he needs to take down the protector of the people. The Mikazuki clan. So by exploiting the biggest secret of the Mikazuki clan, the head of the Kasai clan plans to wipe out the whole clan in one night. However, Tamahome Kasai learned of the plan and informs Mizu's father, Aukai Mikazuki, what his uncle is planning to do.

So Aukai plans for the woman and children to escape the island and hide away on the mainland. During the preparations, Aukai tries to reach out to Minato. who he met and got to know and they became friends. Minato and Aukai had plans to ally their nations together. Aukai was hoping that he could call on Minato for help but Minato had already died due to the 9 tails attack on the village. So he asked Hiruzen Sarutobi for help. After much convincing, he got the elders and council to allow the women and children to stay in the Leaf Village.

The 3rd Hokage agrees to allow sanctuary for the children of the Mikazuki clan. Mizu's mother helps her change her appearance so she can blend in with the citizens of the mainland. Even though it would be years before she could ever return to her homeland. Mizu can bring her bag full of sea shells. This is all that she will be able to bring with her along her journey.

Information

It can seal away Mizu's members of her life back on her island. This is the only way she could be kept safe as she lives in the 5 Great Nations. Every 6 years the seal needs to be resealed on Mizu.

It was her father's orders to have this seal on Mizu. His final wish is for Mizu's members to be returned when she turns 21. That is when she will be of legal age to take her father's place and become the new co-ruler of her island.

Side Effects

The side effect of this seal is a massive and painful migraine. When the pain becomes severe, Mizu looks like she is having a Cesare while clutching her head.

This is how the seal resets Mizu's memories.

The reason for this violent reaction is that this seal is only used for people of the Kasai clan. And since Mizu is a child of the Mikazuki clan, this seal is not a permanent fix. Thus the need for this seal to be resealed every six years.

-First Incident-

The first time is when she meets Gaara. While Mizu and her family hide in Sunagakure. She and Gaara were alone when playing when Shinobi from her island were sent by the clan that was responsible for killing her clan. Are out looking for survivors. Gaara kills them all but the attack was so violent and monstrous that it brought back images of her witnessing her clansmen getting killed. This resulted in the seal being active. The activation causes a harsh and violent reaction to Mizu. Sadly when the pain finally stops Mizu's mind is completely reset and she forgets who Gaara is and she's horrified by the blood and gore. So much so that she calls him a monster. And thus Mizu forgets ever meeting Gaara.

-Second Incident-

The second time this seal activates is when Mizu finally lives in the Leaf village. This is during her time adjusting to living in the village. She does meet Sasuke and Itachi. Mizu starts talking about her homeland, and this leads to the systems from before to activated. However, Itachi manages to stop the seal from going through its violent stage. but the seal did "Reset her Mind" per se. She was still able to hold her conversation with Sasuke and Itachi but she doesn't remember what she just said or was about to say. While Sasuke just thought that this action was Mizu just being the "Strange New Girl" Itachi was suspicious. He caught a glimpse of the seal on Mizu's forehead, out of curiosity he looked deeper into Mizu's family and he learned that she and her family are refugees from another land.

-Third Incident-

This incident happens during the chunin exams. Specifically during the preliminary rounds. Mizu narrowly passes and wins her fight. This seal reached the end of its use and needed to be resealed. And here we see the return of the violent shakes and cries of pain.

Just before Mizu could bask in her victory, a painful and brutal migraine hits Mizu's head. She cries in pain and she falls to her knees. To the others around her, Mizu appears to be having a Cesare, and her friends worry for her.

Mizu's ancestor(the one who was given the gift of Chakura) offered an Aquamarine Gemstone to someone she loved. But due to certain circumstances, he left her and gifted the Gemstone to her as a thank-you for her love. Since then the Gemstone has been passed down until one of her ancestors (during Hashirama Senju Timeline) She gives the same Gemstone to her beloved. And as fate would have it. Her beloved returned the stone as this love is also fated to not last. But that lover used the Gemstone as the centerpiece for this hair clip. And this is how the hair clip came to be.

And when Mizu is forced to leave her island. It serves as another means of protection for Mizu. Especially when she travels away from her homeland.

Mizu's mother gave this hair clip as not only a gift of protection on the sea. Because she is still new to the Sea. And her powers haven't fully awakened. So this hair clip is given as protection for her while she travels the sea. But this hair clip is also a small reminder of her clan and family that she is forced to forget and leave behind.

Aquamarine Gemstone Meaning and Myths

Protection- Sailors believed aquamarine would calm waves and protect them from shipwrecks. It's still considered a good gift for ocean travelers.

[This was the inspiration for in idea of how the members of the Mikazuki clan would give these gifts to people who are not familiar with the sea.]

Peace and tranquility- Aquamarine's blue-green color is associated with the sea and can evoke feelings of peace and relaxation. It's often used to promote harmony and trust.

[This is the reason Mizu has such a trusting and why she always tries to seek harmony with others.]

Clarity and communication- Aquamarine is associated with clear thinking and honest communication. It's believed to enhance mental clarity and intuition.

[This is the reason why Mizu has to wear the hairclip. it helps her keep her mind clear and focused. As well as explain why Mizu has such an honest to a fault nature.]

Healing- Some believe aquamarine has healing properties and can cleanse the aura, calm emotions, and promote physical and emotional well-being.

[This will explain how there will be moments when Mizu does heal from emotional pains when she wears her hair clip. As well as what happens when she loses her hair clip.]

Good luck- Aquamarine is considered a "good luck" stone that can bring feelings of peace, love, joy, and happiness.
