𝙩𝙝𝙚    𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣    𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨    𝙮𝙤𝙪    𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣    𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙧.    it’s    been   a    whirlwind    of    a    day.    you    are    now    formally    fire    lady.    of    the    fire    nation.    an   earthbender,    fire    lady.    and    the    first    inter-nation    marriage    anyone    has    seen.    it’s    no    surprise,    not    really,    when    zuko’s    the    way    he    is.    he’s    friends    with    the    avatar,    helped    him   defeat    ozai    and    brought    peace    to    the    world    in    ways    that   no    one    had    known    since    the    hundred    year    war.    it    makes    sense    in    ways    you    would    have    never    expected.    the    crown   you    wear    now    is    not    the    typical   one    that    other    fire    ladies   have    worn.    from    what    sokka    has    told    you,    zuko    has    wielded    this    one    for    you.    a    mix    between   fire   nation   regalia   and    the   crown    the    earth    monarch    wears.    something    that    has    never    been    seen    before.    it’s    a    breath    of    fresh    air   for   you,   for    everyone.    it’s    easy    to    look   at    him   with   the   same    softness   that    you    did    when   he   was    lee,    the   boy    from   the   tea    shop.    even   back    then,   when   he   was    still    just   lee,    you    could    feel   him,   you   still   can.   today    he...    is    light.    he’s   surrounded   by    his   friends,   and    the   people   that   he   loves,   and    he’s    smiling.    even   now    as   he    kissed   your    forehead.    you   cannot    help   yourself    but    pull    yourself   closer,    a    kiss    on    his   lips,   chaste    of    course,    before    pulling    back,    smile    on    your   lips.    ❝  happy    wedding    day,    husband.  ❞

❛  my   little   prince   ❜   she  responds,   hand  caressing  her  son’s   face.   she   doesn’t   want   to    leave   him.     she    can’t   do  this.    how  could   she   leave   him   here?     she  has   to.   she   promised   his   father  ———   and   nothing   scares   her   more   than    ozai   does.       the   idea   of   him   hurting  zuko   scares  her   so   much,    so   much    that   she   will   abandon   him   if   it   means   protecting   him.    the   way   his   fingers   fit   so   perfectly   in    his   palm,   the   way   he   holds   his    father’s    features   yet    soft.    how  could   he  be  so   soft  ?    when   she’s   too   weak   to   fight   against   his   father,     he  looks   up   so   innocent.     she   wishes    she   was   strong.    strong   enough   to   falter   from   his   empty   threats.   strong   enough   to   take   zuko   and   azula   far    away   from    ozai.    from  this   life.         ❛ you   will   see   me   again   ———  it   is   time  for  you   to   sleep   now,    and   know  I  love  you   very   much. ❜

the  chaos  of  her  cousins  and  her  brother  begin  to  run  off  to  play  their   games  and  destroy  the  palace  but  she  stays  behind.  she’s  waiting  for  a  quiet  moment,  just  some  peace.   she’s  far  too  old   (  at  age  thirteen  )   to  play  soldier.   the  war  was  over,   what  were  they  playing  ?    instead  she  sighs,  gently  tugging  at  her  uncle’s  robes.   “   can  you  have  a  tea  party  with  me  ?    and  can  you  tell  me  what  you’re  planning  to  do  about  the  recent  crisis  in  that  earth  kingdom  village  ?   please,  uncle  zuko  ?   ”
