Dinah Zoe Lance had a lot to live up to. Her mother and grandmother had both worn the mantle for years before it had been passed down to her, and it didn’t help that her father was still out there trying to save Star City every night. She thought she’d finally gotten out of their shadow when she’d joined the Titans.

The group had given her purpose, a way to use her mantle and power for good just like her mother and father had. But then it all goes wrong. The group disbands and Zoe is left aimless, friendless, and lost more than ever. 

So she travels. And travels. Until her life feels less empty, until the expectations that weighed her shoulders down disappeared long enough for her to forget about the blunders she’d caused. To forget about the life she left behind. 

And then that son of a bitch Dick Grayson feels the need to send her a text asking for her help. If it were anyone else, she would’ve said no, and she almost did, until he tells her one crucial piece of information. 

Dawn is in the hospital and Dick is reconsidering bringing the team back together.  

It’s the worst idea he’s had in ages, but Zoe’ll be damned if he pulls it off without her. They were a team after all, and teams didn’t leave each other out in the dust. Well, not anymore they didn’t. She’d make sure of that.

Growing up in Gotham City, Grace Liu was well aware of her dim future. Her parents were poor and her father was stuck in a never ending cycle of violence and crime, even selling his own daughter for experiments in exchange for drugs. Grace grew up barely understanding her new abilities, hiding herself from a world that didn’t seem to care about the freak daughter of a drug addict. When her father was finally put away for good, life only got worse and it wasn’t long until her mother took her own life, leaving Grace on her own. While some may have used that opportunity to get out and start a better life, Grace followed her father’s footsteps of crime, doing her best to fight back against the corrupt city that failed her. 

It didn’t take long for her antics to catch the eye of two vigilantes, Hawk and Dove. They steered her in the right direction, helping guide her until she found her way to the good side, claiming her new identity as The Magpie. When Dick Grayson joined the group it was only a matter of time before Grace and Dick couldn’t ignore the sexual tension between them. They fought each other almost as much as they fought crime, but they were inseparable and head over heels for each other. Or so Grace thought. 

Until Grace caught her best friend and her boyfriend in bed together. Unable to cope with Dawn and Dick’s betrayal, Grace fled Gotham but she couldn’t escape her past forever. When she gets a call from Dick insisting that he needs her help, she’s reluctant but it’s not long until she gets dragged back into his mess with demon kids and aliens galore.
