Malcolm is very well behaved and really, really likes helping, but he can be a bit gullible and just generally unlucky, so sometimes he stumbles into trouble. He never starts it, though!

That's pretty close to how it is for me, too! I may delete and rewrite a few times on a sentence to get it right, or I might do all that in my head, but I'm really not a consider-every-word-carefully person while I'm drafting.

It’s really lovely hearing other people say this. I know some wonderful, incredibly successful writers, but many of them are of the “write each sentence six times to get it right, then come back and redo it another twelve, focusing on each word intensely” sort. And they’re successful. And I’m not. So. It gets in my head that I do it wrong? And it’s just lovely to hear other folks whose writing I KNOW is good say that they work the way my brain works.

Yessssss I am here for THIS. I did once have a long, angsty Boostle hooker AU plotted out that I’m almost positive I made you listen to at least once. :)

But also! Hooker Matt, so charming and so guarded at the same time, doing his best to be captivating so that he never once loses control of the situation, and then Foggy comes along and he’s utterly guileless and disarming and Matt has no idea what to do with him. Oooh, especially if it’s some kind of courtesan AU where Matt and Elektra are part of a house that’s ironically named the Chaste and Foggy’s just gotten access thanks to his new job at Landman and Zack. (But of course the Chaste have an agenda of their own...)

2. Talk about three of the most important ships throughout your life:

Helga/Arnold, Hey Arnold!: This ship was the reason I started posting fanfiction on the internet which is why I live on the internet now, and also made me a much better writer. And also, I LOVE THEM.

Jack/David, Newsies: I met most of my very best friends through this fandom (*pokes you*), so. Also, friends/partners to lovers is, as I mentioned, my jam.

I can see that - I've definitely had projects where I feel like straight prose isn't the best format for them. But at the same time, I don't think prose has *less* impact than other mediums, it's got its own set of strengths and weaknesses. (But yes, it can be frustrating when a project you really want to bring to life is not served by the main/only tool in your toolbox...)

It’s not so much that I think prose isn’t a good medium; I’m actually satisfied with how I’m telling my stories.

It’s that I think fandom and people in general are moving away from the written word and into visual and audio media. People want to see what’s going on. They want to listen on the train. They want to watch and sink into a show. They want to enjoy a comic. And I get that. It’s just not content I have any capability to produce.

And I watch shows or movies sometimes and I want to be able to reach out like that. Be able to reach the masses, be able to touch more hearts, be able to have stories go beyond the little places where I leave them.

I think that's why we write. <3

Yeah, but... I keep realizing lately that non-visual and non-audio mediums just... don’t seem to have the same impact. Movies, TV, comics, podcasts... they have a broader reach than simple words.

Those are all amazing accomplishments, though! You are so awesome!
