Hartley rolled his eyes. He was trying, he really was, but Cisco just had a way of getting under his skin, “I’m just saying, do we need someone else to help us with this problem? Has he been vetted, tested? I’m not saying there’s been a track record of new friends actually being murderous psychopaths who somehow are also almost always speedsters too ... but, there’s a tally on the whiteboard for a reason.”

He watched Cisco pace a bit, before he turned to face him, “Not this guy, never this guy. I could list off about 50 thousand reasons why he absolutely isn’t gonna Order 66 us, but I’ll just settle for the look on your face when you see he breached in about 2 minutes ago and heard everything you said.”

Hartley paused, before turning. Two thoughts.

Oh shit.

hello again ! i hope you’re having a very happy holidays so far !! i had so much fun this week reading so many of your threads. your threads with @infiniitefrequency​’s hartley really stood out to me ! i miiight have gone all the way back and read your threads with them from the very beginning because i couldn’t get enough. the chemistry between winn and hartley is SO CUTE ! in each reply i can see how important hartley is to winn. i love how lighthearted the interactions between them are - your dialogue when winn is joking around with hartley is so fun to read.

but for as cute as they can be the angst you write for them ? BEAUTIFULLY HEARTBREAKING. i got to the thread where winn lost his memory and i knew it was gonna hurt and it did !! the pining from both of them was so much worse because winn didn’t remember anything but you show how he still feels this connection to hartley. this line was one of my favorites “his smile is soft, almost shy, and he can tell that this memory means something to him—maybe to both of them”  and also “when he thought that he and hartley might be dating, that had been what felt right”. the fact that he can tell, even without memories, that hartley is special to him in a different way than his friends ? my heart ! and don’t even get me started on winn comforting hartley after his father died. that thread also hit me right in the feels.

She’d thrown herself into work almost the moment after hearing her son had become a threat again. She’s been splitting her time between checking in with Lena – fussing over her, as Lena called it – and working until her brain turned static with exhaustion. Which had worked, on the one hand, except now she’s sitting at her desk, staring blankly at the designs in front of her and realising that perhaps she should’ve gone to sleep earlier. Now she’s exhausted and unable to distract herself, and thoughts of her son are creeping through the cracks.

fun story, my mom took us to see the movie and at one point leaned over to me and went “so who’s her parent” and I went “athena” and she said “then why is she so dumb???” and I almost died in the middle of the theatre
