I wish I could say that I’m always game for a midnight pool party, but unfortunately, there aren’t too many folks around here in NorCal who have backyard pools, much less ones they’d like to open up on a frigid San Francisco evening to their pals to party through till the morning. But as I’ve always said, we’re fortunate we have Australian duo Midnight Pool Party and their chic and sexy jams. I can dance around to their tunes and fool myself into believing I’m hanging out poolside on a sticky, muggy night in my finest summer beach threads. Their recent EP MOTIONS features a track named With You, a sultry groover prime for a hot dip in the pool with your paramour. A Motions remix pack has been released since the EP hit, and its ranks include an edit of With You by Miami-based Colombian producer Charlie Crown, whom we formerly adored as Flapo. This adroit music architect takes the “crown” when it comes to a steamy smoldering, beat jittering exhilaration on his immersive With You remix. This is the sizzling dance soundtrack for after that dip into the pool, when things really heat up and get intensely passionate. Charlie Crown notes: “I fell in love with the vocals the first time I heard the track and knew that they needed to be the focal point of the remix. In order to cater to them, I tried to approach the production by adding in more ambient elements and simultaneously enhancing the energetic arrangement by incorporating my own sound.” Midnight Pool Party’s MOTIONS Remixed also features remixes of songs off their EP by Dugong Jr, Anoraak, LEFTI, and Bohkeh.
