Hiii!! I don’t know if you take questions like these but I need help with my first fursuit head! I’m going for a regular foam base BUT there’s a small problem, the character I’m making has an “irregular” shaped head and I don’t know if I can make it so that I can see out of it and fit my head on it
You don’t have to answer this question but I was curious if you had a suggestion so I could shape/ build it in a good way. Here’s what he looks like! (It’s a balloon dog)
It’s ok if you don’t answer this, but if you do, thanks so much!!
You have a very cute sona! But yes this is very doable. I will try my best to explain:
Start with a balaclava base. You want to buy a balaclava (sweat wicking NOT thermal!) And a mannequin head thats roughly your measurements (ive seen foam ones at the dollarstores and thrift stores) and build up your base from there.
Think of it like clay except you're gluing and sculpting upholstery foam. I would recommend 1 inch foam because its easy to work with.
Since your character is round in shape I would add strips of foam (think of paper mache on a balloon or beach ball) and add the soundness that way and just carve away any sharp edges.
I really hope this makes sense 😅
