a wolf, washed up by the river, unconscious, his cloths torn and only a soaked backpack nearby. The wolf somehow alive despite the cruel beating he likely endured. Meanwhile, Karume, a wild anthro lion examines him closely, curious on what creature has washed up by the jungle lake. He's never seen a creature like this before, he's not entirely sure what it is really. But he can tell it's breathing. The wolf is alive. Though the question, is he friend or foe.

Today's Fursona Species is the Pigeon! I chased this based off someone who recently followed me, @aflockofpigeons because this account cracks me up

Found everywhere apart from Antarctica, Pigeons are known as "Sky Rats" but this could be further than the truth.

These highly intelligent birds can recognise themselves, problem solve, and were used to deliver messages in Wars.

There are over 350 species of pigeons! The species you see the most would be the Rock Pigeon!

In the wild, pigeons live 3-6 years. City pigeons often face more hazards and may not live as long, normally 2-3 years.

These birds are natural pest controls, consuming bugs for us, eating food scraps, and more!

(I apologise for the last post and such a small post, I have been in a flare up 😭)

Today's Fursona Species is the Manta Ray!

There are 3 species of Manta Rays; Reef Manta, Giant Oceanic Manta, and Atlantic Manta Ray. With the Atlantic Manta Ray being recognised only last year!

Like their closely related cousins, sharks and rays, the Manta Ray is a cartilaginous fish.

They have the biggest brain-to-body ratio of any fish on Earth! They are clever enough to rival dolphins!

They live all over the world! However they prefer warmer climates and open waters.

Like all animals, Manta Rays can come in colours, other than black and white. Some of the rarest colours have been pink and full black!

I've seen a few Manta Ray fursuits and absolutely love themmm

Suggested by my boyfriend, today's Fursona Species is the Valais blacknose sheep!

Although not recognized until 1962, Valais Blacknose Sheep were first mentioned around the 1400's. The Valais Blacknose Sheep are a rare breed of sheep with shaggy, coarse wool and spiral horns. They have black noses, ears, eye rims, knees and ankles.

They are dubbed the “cutest sheep in the world” and its easy to see why!

There aren't many facts about them, sadly :(

Today's Fursona Species is the Zebra!

There are three species of the plains zebra, Grevy’s zebra and mountain zebra, all three species are native to Africa. On top of three species, there are many subspecies within the main three.

A lot of people believe a zebra to be black with white stripes, however if we look at the inside of their legs, they are white with black stripes! A zebra's stripes serve as a form of protection from predators. When zebras gather together, their overlapping stripes make it hard for a lion or leopard to pick out one zebra to chase.

Doctors refer to rare disorders as "zebras" based on an old medical saying taught in med schools: "When you hear hoofbeats behind you, don't expect to see a zebra". This saying encourages medical professionals to look for the most common and likely diagnosis (a horse) rather than a surprising, exotic, or rare one (a zebra)

Like any animal, zebras can come in any different fur types! Some examples, of ones I find really pretty, are shown below!

You can get pretty creative with stripe colour, design, etc!!

Today's Fursona Species is the Tasmanian Tiger / Thylacine!

Thylacine was around until 1936, where the last known species died in captivity. These amazing creatures were killed to extinction by humans, from hunting, habitat loss, and diseases.

The Thylacine was a member of the Marsupial family. Despite its name, the Thylacine was not related to tigers at all. Being from the Marsupial family, they had pouches to carry their young in.

Scientists are gathering the DNA of the Thylacine to bring them back from extinction!

I absolutely love Thylacines! They are one of my favourite extinct creatures!
