Okay, so I started re-watching Kuroko no Basket and I just watched the part where the first years had to scream their goals for the year and Furihata says something like "the girl I liked said she would go out with me if I became the best at something, so I'm gonna become the best at basketball", and I found it strange.

If someone confesses to you, you accept or deny their confesion, right? You don't give them an ultimaitum, right? (it feels like an ultimatium, but I don't really know anything about confessions, so...).

But, in the end, Furihata learns to love basketball and he gets to want to be the best for himself and not for another person.
