There are very few people in the world who enjoy conflict.

When you have a pet, it becomes part of your family. And when pets become part of the family, sometimes they forget they aren’t human. However, from time to time, pets are reminded of the fact that they are animals when they try to use our furniture. We designed chairs, sofas and tables for people with two legs, not four. So, when pets use our furniture, it can have a hilarious result.

When I was a kid, I knew a rottweiler. She was huge, her paws were the size of my face, and her name was Princess. And she was, in fact, a princess. Instead, she sashayed around in her sparkly pink collar looking for a little TLC.

Like pit bulls, however, rotties are pretty misunderstood. While it’s important to do some research before bringing a dog into your home, the fact of the matter is that individual dogs have different personalities. If I were one of the two, for example, I would be a cat. It takes me a hot second to warm up to people, I can go from zero to petty real quick when I’m crossed, and I keep my circle small. For that reason, I’m a dog person. I don’t need to live with a four-legged version of myself.

If you’re better at being a human than I am, then you probably love chilling with your cat. That being said, your cat probably doesn’t always love chilling with you. June 4 is National Hug Your Cat Day, so let’s pay funny homage to the kitties who really just don’t have time for our affections.

Kids make messes. It’s their only job. By age 10, they already have a decade of experience when it comes to wreaking havoc on walls, floors, and even ceilings. While I don’t have children, I vaguely remember ruining my parents’ lives by taking crayons to fresh paint and caking furniture in Play-Doh.

And if there’s one thing I’ve heard parents say over and over again, it’s that having kids and pets living in the same house is a recipe for messy disaster. That’s why this dog is basically an angel. Every night before bedtime, the meticulous pup runs around and collects every toy in sight.

Not many human children are on this level (or have any desire to get there).

Listen. I was a professional tantrum thrower as a kid. I knew the level of foot-stomping, hair-flipping, exasperated commitment that went into pulling off fits of epic proportions. As it turns out, so do huskies.
