TONIGHT on my @kmhd_jazz_radio show- This time last year I presented my 1970 show. It was up against coverage of an impeachment trial. Tonight my show Is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the year 1971, & it will be up against coverage of the 2nd impeachment. So far 2021 is just like 2020 only much more bonkers. However, the entirety of soul music & all of its offshoots produced mountains of message music during that period. We'll listen to a sampling of them. Outside of message music, we'll also enjoy a variety of sound trends that were popular in #soulmusic at the time: #PsychSoul, #SoulFolk, #funkySoul, #FunkyJazz & more. I began utilizing my radio show for these 50th anniversaries of specific years back in 2018 (when I celebrated 1968). At that time, I had no intention of doing it annually.
