I have been feeling super fatigued recently. Last Saturday, I ate a super decadent seafood meal (For my standards) and was super tired in the evening. I ended up sleeping at 6pm and slept right through to 8-9am next day.
This week I was also super tired at work and after work. I get unreasonably tired and sleepy after lunch about 2 pm until late 4pm. I would be so close to nodding off at my desk.
At first I suspected depression to be the reason I keep wanting to sleep. But I do not feel depressed, in fact I am pretty good mentally these days.
Then it got me thinking. Do I have food intolerance? That is causing this brain fog and lethargy.
My friend is on a elimination diet herself and she has been getting some good results from it. She gave me some resources.

The mice did not overanalysed things. To the mice, the problem and the answer were both simple. The situation at Cheese Station C had changed. So Sniff and Scurry decided to change.
There is a difference between activity and productivity.
He wondered if he had bitten off more than he can chew. Then he laughed, realising that he had nothing to chew on at that moment.
He now realised that change probably would not have taken him by surprise if he had been watching what was happening all along and if he had anticipated change.
He decided that he would stay more alert from now on. He would expect change to happen and look for it. He would trust his basic instincts to sense when change was going to occur and be ready to adapt to it.
Haw kept thinking about what he could gain instead of what he was losing.
The fear you let build up in your mind is worse than the situation that actually exists.
It was natural for change to continually occur, whether you expect it or not. Change could surprise you only if you didnât expect it and werenât looking for it.Â
New beliefs were encouraging new behaviors.
You can believe that a change will harm you and resist it. Or you can believe that finding New Cheese will help you and embrace the change.
He realised that the fastest way to change is to laugh at your own folly - then you can let go and quickly move on.
He often went out into the Maze and explored new areas to stay in touch with what was happening around him. He knew it was safer to be aware of his real choices than to isolate himself in his comfort zone.
What we need to let go of and what do we need to move on to?
Let go of old behavior instead of letting go of the relationship. Repeating the same behavior will just get you the same results.
As far as work goes, maybe instead of changing jobs, I should be changing the way I am doing my job.
A change imposed is a change opposed.
Holding a picture of New Cheese in their minds - seeing themselves doing well in a new job - made them feel better, and helped them do better in job interviews.
An organisation can only change when enough people in it change.
Writing on the wall
The more important your cheese is to you. The more you want to hold onto it.
If you do not change, you can become extinct.
What would you do if you werenât afraid?
Better late than never.
Movement in a new direction helps you find new cheese.
When you stop being afraid, you feel good!
Imagining yourself enjoying your new cheese leads you to it.
It is safer to search in the maze, than remain in a cheeseless situation.
When you see that you can find and enjoy new cheese, you change course.
Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger changes that are to come.
They keep moving the cheese. Change happens
Get ready for the cheese to move. Anticipate change
Smell the cheese often so you know when it it getting old. Monitor change
The quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you find new cheese. Adapt to change quickly.
Move with the cheese. Change.
Savor the adventure and enjoy the taste of new cheese! Enjoy Change!
They keep moving the cheese. Be ready to change quickly and enjoy it again & again
Agreeableness is a personality trait characterised by compassion, friendliness, politeness and empathy. People high in this personality trait can be described as âniceâ; they tend to make good friends, are good listeners and good team players.
One study found that, on average, agreeable people have lower income than âdisagreeableâ people. They also tend to have lower occupational status (for example, they receive fewer promotions).
According to this study, more agreeable people might sacrifice their own success in the process of pleasing others. This study also suggests that agreeable people are less likely to aggressively negotiate their wage and more likely to be passive in conflict situations.
It should be noted that most studies on agreeableness and career success reported weak to moderate relationships. This means that while on average agreeable people are at a disadvantage, there are many agreeable workers who have very successful careers.
Agreeableness can actually enhance career success when combined with certain other traits. One study demonstrated that agreeableness increases job performance when combined with political skill, that is the ability to leverage relationships in order to achieve goals. This suggests that being helpful and nice can be very beneficial when used strategically.
Other research demonstrates that agreeableness is beneficial when combined with conscientiousness. This indicates that being agreeable can be beneficial when coupled with focus, self-discipline and the tendency to set and achieve goals.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Be strategic by continuing to assist others but not hesitating to ask for favours in return.
Conscientiousness: be more organised and focused on meeting (own) goals.
try to reign in their modesty. Nothing wrong with making others aware of a good outcome.
choose their battles will avoid conflict most of the time, but have the ability to stand up for themselves when they need to.
Do you want to know where is all your time going to?
Do you want to have your time better used?

Success is fundamentally about how you spend your time.
Time is the base currency of life. If you have more time, you can convert it into anything
Time by energy level
Maker time is a concept from Paul Grahamâs essay Maker Time, Manager Time. In it, he explains that work time can be divided into either maker or manager time. Itâs the same thing as what Cal Newport has called âDeep Work,â the highest leverage work that you need to block out time for to move your business forward as opposed to just keep it running.
Minimise manager time.
Confront perception gap vs reality gap
Confront how I spend my time vs. how I spend my attention. Take actions. Meditation helps
Confront revealed preference (what people actually want) vs. stated preference (what people say they want). How I thought I wanted to spend my time in an ideal world wasnât how I actually wanted to spend my time.
Everytime we say yes to one thing, we are necessarily saying no to something else. The number of hours in a day and days is a week is fixed; you can not create more of them. If you hadnât agreed to the meeting, you would have done something with that time - but what?
Time by value
1) I needed to reduce my $10 per hour and $100 per hour task time
Is it beneficial? If not, stop.Â
If it is beneficial, can you automate it?
If you canât automate it, can you outsource it?
2) Tasks that seem the same can have dramatically different values

Life is not a race to be finished; itâs a dance meant to be danced.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHnIJeE3LAI
Alan Watts http://www.alanwatts.com/alan-watts/
The existence, the physical universe is basically playful. There is no necessity for it whatsoever. It isnât going anywhere. That is to say, it doesnât have some destination that it ought to arrive at.
But that it is best understood by the analogy with music. Because music, as an art form is essentially playful. We say, âYou play the pianoâ You donât work the piano.
Why? Music differs from say, travel. When you travel you are trying to get somewhere. In music, though, one doesnât make the end of the composition. The point of the composition. If that were so, the best conductors would be those who played fastest. And there would be composers who only wrote finales. People would go to a concert just to hear one crackling chord⊠Because thatâs the end!
Same way with dancing. You donât aim at a particular spot in the room because thatâs where you will arrive. The whole point of the dancing is the dance.
But we donât see that as something brought by our education into our conduct. We have a system of schooling which gives a completely different impression. Itâs all graded and what we do is put the child into the corridor of this grade system with a kind of, âCome on kitty, kitty.â And you go onto kindergarten and thatâs a great thing because when you finish that you get into first grade. Then, âCome onâ first grade leads to second grade and so on. And then you get out of grade school and you got high school. Itâs revving up, the thing is coming, then youâre going to go to college⊠Then youâve got graduate school, and when youâre through with graduate school you go out to join the world.
Then you get into some racket where youâre selling insurance. And theyâve got that quota to make, and youâre gonna make that. And all the time that thing is coming â Itâs coming, itâs coming, that great thing. The success youâre working for.
Then you wake up one day about 40 years old and you say, âMy God, Iâve arrived. Iâm there.â And you donât feel very different from what youâve always felt.
Look at the people who live to retire; to put those savings away. And then when theyâre 65 they donât have any energy left. Theyâre more or less impotent. And they go and rot in some, old peoples, senior citizens community. Because we simply cheated ourselves the whole way down the line.
If we thought of life by analogy with a journey, with a pilgrimage, which had a serious purpose at that end, and the thing was to get to that thing at that end. Success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after youâre dead.
But we missed the point the whole way along.
It was a musical thing, and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played.
