remember, fundy was a prince once. his mom is still sally in this au, she was some water nymph or whatever and wilbur is the son of the goddess of death so fundy’s a little messed up.

being a nymph isn’t the best? they’re one of the most discriminated creatures (besides nether hybrids) and are seen as evil. and most of them are, they’re trickster spirits, said to be made of clay from the creator gods swamps. wilbur tried his best to hide and remove any part of Fundy that gave away the nymph in him. which meant hours of discipline and days of isolation. that resulted in fundy’s hatred for his father and the kingdom of l’manberg

he sort of just embraces the nymph in him and learns that his mother was a lesser evil compared to her relatives. but, fundy being fundy, was all like “who tf cares. imma go ruin some people’s lives” which ofc meant wilbur’s and the royal family’s.

and in turn, the mess he made really kicked him in the ass later. the gods got mad and literally disowned him and banished him. this is mostly bc dream is a vassal (someone who harbors a god within them, letting the god use their body to be mortal and seeable to the human eye) and dream was a vassal of the creator god, XD. so XD got mad and the rest of the pantheon got mad and the goddess of death was like “yo guys that’s my grandson. i cant let u hurt him.” and everyone else is like “he literally fuckin hates u” and then a war broke out between the nether, end, and overworld and it’s all fundy’s fault cuz he broke some kings heart
