Got up at 10 AM and decided that only eating a croissant yesterday was an inhuman thing to do to my stomach, so I headed out. There was a nice cafe called The Fumbally about a ten minute walk away.

Going to a cafe here is a little different than what I'm used to in the States. In the States, you either sit at a table and order from the given menu and pay at the end, or you grab what you want and pay immediately before sitting down. It's a mix of the two in Ireland. In yesterday's cafe, we ordered coffee and other beverages, paid, and sat down. In today's cafe, I ordered, paid, found a seat, and waited for the food and coffee. I'm not sure which method is better, but it was interesting to say the least. The cafe was also crowded, and I sat at a sofa with a few other people.

I got Green Eggs and Ham, which was an interesting assortment of avocados, poached eggs, and sausage/ham bits on top of a toasted piece of bread, along with an Americano. 

I will straight up admit here that I have Korean tastes, which mean somewhat bland food with spicy side dishes. I prefer almost any Korean food over others (with maybe the exception of Indian dishes and pho). I will also admit that I was feeling pretty sick, with all the activity of yesterday and the getting rained on business, so anything going into my mouth had the chance of coming right back out. That said, the dish I ordered was too salty and the textures didn't sit well in my mouth (or stomach). The Americano was not to my taste (too acidic!), either.

After a hasty retreat, I went outside to hopefully settle my stomach. I roamed around and found a power adapter for my chargers at Spar, one of the convenience store chains here. The weather was nice, so I roamed around a bit more before going back inside and waiting for the ride to take me to the host family's house.

Due to the anti-water bill protests in Dublin, the ride was a bit late. However, I did make it to the host lady’s house (not host family, since it’s a single person) in one piece. It’s a quaint townhouse with two bedrooms and a bathroom, a kitchen, laundry, dining room, living room, etc. She has a 2-year old cat named Daisy, who is adorable if a bit finicky around strangers. I’m sure I’ll end up posting a lot of pictures of her. The... hostess (?) herself is a very, very kind old lady. There is no distinct WiFi here (which I might end up changing), but there is a USB Internet-hookup that I am currently using.
