The fatal mistake of many creators in the world of SL
Hello everyone, I want to take a topic today that will help many creators avoid mistakes when working with their products in the world of SL.
These are really important subtle nuances that every creator needs to consider. Because your thing can walk through the hands of other users even without a copybot.
Rights to the object
Let's say you have two accounts in the SL world, or you are collaborating with another creator.
!!!!!DO NOT CHANGE THE PERMISSIONS OF THE OBJECT IN THE INVENTORY!!!!!
1. A script with auto-detachment will not help you. The work of this script is easy to avoid, some can easily break it. Create demo objects with boxes and labels.
2. When you group a fullperm object with an object that has "no transfer" rights, any resident can detach one object from another and use it as a fullperm. The permissions of an object's fullperm do not change until you change them in the sandbox when the object is rezzed.
3. Rights in the inventory do not work for objects. Any resident can drop your object and take it back to inventory. It will receive an object with all rights if you changed these rights in the inventory itself.
How to avoid problems with objects?
1. When the object is handed to you, rez it on the ground and change the permissions "Transfer". TAKE OFF a tick. Then save this object to your inventory.
2. If you are making a DEMO object, you need to rez it on the ground and take off a tick next to "Modify". Then save this object to your inventory.
3. Transfer the item to your alt account and check its work before putting it up for sale.
4. For DEMO products, it is better to use boxes and inscriptions. Because some residents know how to get around the 5 minute limit on using your item.
5. When you have connected/combined a fullperm object to a no trans and/or no mod object, residents can still detach them and get a fullperm. It is necessary to change the rights of the combined objects on the ground several times and take it to inventory.
Object rights remain unchanged when you attach them to such objects. It is necessary to manually change the rights on the ground.
