バレーボールや世界陸上、 スポーツの世界が盛り上がっていると、 なんとなく気持ちがワクワクします。
私、子どもの頃はね、決して体育得意ではなかったんです。
でも、大人になって、 自分の競争や自分の評価の対象から離れた 「スポーツ」というものは、 見ていて、すごく楽しく感じられる。
私の場合は、んー、多分もう8年くらい前、自転車と出会って、 以来、そこら中を１人で気ままに走ることが 趣味であり、気晴らしであり、 運動であり、小さな冒険にもなっています。
夏は世界の自転車ロードレースの中継を 夜な夜な見ることも多いんですね。
勝利した選手のインタビューなどは大体英語で行われます。 世界のスポーツの舞台で活躍する人は、 言葉の壁なんて言い訳にせずに 邁進していくんだよなと、改めて思います。
選手のインタビューでよく聞く感じ、 I just went full gas in the final kilometers.
この、full gasという言葉が好きなんです。 元々はモータースポーツで「アクセル全開」を 意味するスラングなのだとか。
自転車ロードレースの世界でも同じように使われ 「持てる力のすべてを出し切って」 といった意味合いのようです。
こういう言葉ってね、なんか使いたい（笑）
や、スポーツにおいて自分がfull gasで いくことなんて、よもやありえんが、仕事なら、ね。
・・・いや、子育てをされている方々は、 間違いなく毎日full gasですよね。 ほんまにすごいと思います。
子どもたちは容赦なく全力全開でやってきます。 小さい子は体力的に。年齢とともに、より知的に。
いやほんま、楽しいわ。
私もfull gas、頑張ります。
