"His relationship with his father must've been holding him back!" ZANE 😭😭 Lets start of with this. Its been implied and I think so myself Cole is a bit of a people's pleaser. More then the show lets us know. Obv not to everyone but think about it. Before unlocking his potential he seemed all uncomfortable and akward about talking about his father. In a specific way that's he's scared of rejection. "He wanted me to follow him in his footsteps. But when I couldn't sing or dance I- I ran away." Again, I think this is because he was scared of what his father would think of him. "When he sees I can't dance, he'll know I've been lying in all the letters I've been sending." HE GEN SOUNDS AFRAID AND SAD GIVE HIM A HUG </3 The fact that he ran away simply because he couldn't do what his father wanted him to do. Which shows either respect or fear towards his dad. Point is, he def didn't want his dad to see him fail. Cole even pushed it to the point he lied to his dad in letter he sent. It sounds like he's afraid his dad will h8 him or not accept him or something along those lines only due to NOT doing what his dad wanted. Okay someone give cole a pat for realsies. I think the way he wanted to get out of the house so fast was that he wanted to go before he was revealed to be a ninja and not what his father wanted to be, therefore dissapointing him. That OR he just didn't want to deal with his dad afraid his dad would not accept him in any way. Finally getting his dad's approval after the show is one path that led him into knowing himself. That in his father's approval, he found approval and relief in himself. He could be who he wanted to be because his father gave him the okay. Then valuing his dad even more he literally jumped on his dad to save him from the crushing stage props. If thats what it was. He didn't want to lose his dad like he lost his mother...
