Stiles Stilinski who claimed to not be able to stand the guy.

Stiles Stilinski who made sarcastic comments all the time about letting Derek die.

Stiles Stilinski who had his supposed love of his life (Lydia) waiting on him in the parking lot.

Stiles Stilinski who is only human but still did the impossible and tread water for 2 hours straight holding up a paralyzed dead weight 200 pound werewolf.

And yet even as they both sunk down under the water because Stiles couldn't hold them up any longer, he still didn't let go of Derek.

I know most of y'all have never had the displeasure of drowning, and people always say it's a peaceful way to go, but it's not. It fucking hurts. It's fucking terrifying. It feels like it lasts forever. There's so much pressure when water goes into your lungs. Panic causes your body to flail around and fight to get air.

I was unable to learn how to swim until I was a preteen because I was too scared. I took swimming lessons 3 different times. I still struggle with feeling panic at times when I'm in a pool. I have a hard time watching drowning scenes in movies because I feel like I can't breathe. I can't play video games and have my character underwater because I feel like I can't breathe.

Stiles refused to save himself, even though his body had to have been trying to force him to let go and save himself. Stiles doesn't believe he's a hero, but that right there is the most heroic thing anyone did in the entire series.

I'm sure some will disagree, but with my own experiences with drowning I can't see anything else being more heroic.

When I watch the pool scene, I feel so much respect and admiration for Stiles. He had to fight his own body against the instinct of self preservation. He had to be brave even though he was terrified. He refused to give up and it means so much to me to see someone willing to go through the traumatic experience of drowning and dying.

Stiles finally blurts out, "Do werewolves actually get knots? If so, is it be only born wolves or do bitten wolves get them too? Would it only be alphas who get a knot? And is it only for mates? Do werewolves even have mates? True mates, fated mates, soul mates, whatever the correct term is. Are there special werewolf mating ceremonies? Are mating bites a real thing? Are arranged marriages a thing for werewolves? Do werewolves have a scent kink or a biting kink? Do werewolves jizz a lot more than humans? Do werewolves have like no refractory period and can just keep going and going? Are all werewolves uncut because if they got circumcised it would just heal and grow back? Are all werewolves hung? Or is it just all alphas that are really hung? Are you—

Derek, Scott, Lydia, and everyone else there are just staring at Stiles frozen in place, unable to stop the neverending questions until finally Derek slaps his hand over Stiles mouth to shut him up. Stiles finally takes a breath.

Derek is bright red from the tips of his ears to down past the collar of his shirt. He finally takes his hand away and asks where the fuck Stiles got all those ideas from. Stiles laughs nervously and rubs the back of his neck looking at the floor.

It takes him a minute but he finally admits he was researching online about werewolves and stumbled upon gay werewolf romance smut stories and read several of them all night and got no sleep because he couldn't put them down.

So many people think because Derek is a little older that there would automatically be a power imbalance and he would have all the power in the relationship.

Yeah, they didn't like each other at first, but if you watch how their interactions progress, they stop being so antagonizing and become more playful with each other. They grow closer and become friends. Derek doesn't tolerate Stiles anymore. He actually does care about him.

And y'all can't tell me neither of them cared about the other when we have that scene in the s4 finale...
