Once I worked at a wonderful organization. The cause was meaningful. My co workers were funny and caring. It was also the first time I was exposed to real sexism and homophobia in the work place. My manager basically told me what Donald Trump is spewing out into the world and to the White House staff. Dress like a woman. Even though this sexist and heteronormative remark was made I kept being me. It was hard everyday, but I wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin. Flash forward to our big benefit and what did I wear? A mother fucking suit and tie. So whether it's 2012 and I'm working in an office. Or it's 2017 and I'm doing workshops.
