Funny story: Once I was on vacation at the summer home of one of my mumās friends. And one of her friends called the house. Now, because Iām a piece of rationality hewn off and alchemically transmuted into flesh, I almost always answer the phone āHello, this is the [my surname] residence, how can I help you?ā
So I answer the phone. I say my line. The caller hangs up. And then I realized. Shit. This isnāt my residence. I feel like putting my head through a wallā the phone rings.
I answer again. āHi. This is [My momās friendās] cabin.ā The caller asks to speak to her. I hand her the phone and literally everything is fine.
