Best $50 I’ve ever spent on eBay. A couple years ago I bought a cable to connect my new FT-950 to an inexpensive RTL2838UHIDIR USB dongle. The cable is excellent quality and there is no modification to the FT-950. Installation of the cable takes about 5 minutes, most of which is used to remove a billion screws from the bottom of the FT950 case. Installation of the software takes some care to set up. All the software is free.

Look at the bandwidth! I have it configured to show the entire 40m ham band, but it will go wider than that. You can see CW on the left and LSB signals on the right of the waterfall.
