Summary:
You and your husband Jin have what appears to be a picture-perfect life. But behind closed doors, your sexual relationship is severely lacking, and when Jin's best friend, Namjoon becomes newly single, things become interesting.
“It’s not that he gives me anything... He just… he remembers the person that I was when I had nothing. He just accepts me.”
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
honestly I was not planning on reading anything that will hurt my heart but here I am, I wouldn’t say that this broke me but I would recommend this to everyone who’s struggling in their relationships, but you don’t have to commit infidelity to see the signs and know that you’re no longer happy, no longer satisfied, no longer you...
so what made me start reading? obviously it’s the Seokjin x Reader x Namjoon bait lol jk but yeah that’s the truth, I wanted to read something with these two when I saw this story on ao3 ~ I won’t be spoiling a lot here nor will I highlight all of their flaws, they’re only human and make mistakes tho but that does not justify the cheating but if you read this and you have an open mind or have gone through the same dilemma/s you would understand all parties, you will have sympathy for each one of them but ultimately feel that being unfaithful isn’t the way to go but it happened, it happens.
let’s focus on how and when things got complicated, it may seem like MC was selfish that’s why she ended up doing what she did but it was more than carnal desires that made her fall into Namjoon’s arms, and it may also seem that Namjoon was an asshole for not considering Jin in the equation ~ well he kinda is because he could’ve waited but wbk that waiting won’t make anything happen - still not the best way to go because it’s messy af. but if you consider all of their individual feelings all of them are victims here.
Jin, he was very loving but he had this Picture Perfect version of his marriage in his head, he provides well, he did everything to give MC and their future kids the best life possible he was too focused on making things perfect he forgot that marriage only works when both parties are invested and passionately dedicated to it. MC, the wife who was once a wild child with wild dreams, she was an aspiring singer (thanks to her gigs she met her husband Jin and his best friend Namjoon) whose dreams had died the moment she walked down the aisle, honestly this could’ve been prevented if there was communication between Jin and her but there was none, her duty was to be a wife who will tend to his needs, she became a wife first before herself which is a huge concern, you don’t change the person you love when you enter a relationship or when you get married, our duty is to love them and not turn them into what we want them to be, they seemed so perfect on the outside but they’re so disconnected on the inside, he doesn’t support her dreams (there will be a dialogue here from Jin that will put you off like why would you say that knowing she’s so in love with doing that thing...) and he can’t even meet her halfway in bed and that’s just ugh. Namjoon, sigh, poor boy, time was not on his side he could’ve been with MC from the start but Jin was smoother and faster at claiming her heart it was painful knowing their history, he loved and still loves MC for who she is, in his eyes she’ll always be the aspiring singer he met one fateful night and that will never change ~ i’d say the feeling was mutual because MC saw him as someone who’s always been there for her, he was a source of light during her darkest days with Jin and even if there was hope, time still wasn’t kind to him and before he knew it she’s walking towards Jin in her wedding dress promising forever ‘til death do them part.
fast forward to MC and Namjoon starting their affair, they were plagued with guilt but even if they decided that they had to stop whatever they started right away the universe keeps pulling them back together, Jin changed for the better because he had this desire to start a family, to raise their child, everything he failed to give to MC suddenly was given in excessive amounts but she was no longer excited with his enthusiasm, her thoughts were filled with Namjoon. spending time away from each other kinda helped but they eventually had to meet up because of Namjoon’s work, it was like fate working its magic to bring back everything she had lost when she agreed to marry Jin, it’s not like it was a curse being with him, it’s just that hmmm not because things worked out when you were still together as boyfriend/girlfriend it doesn’t mean things will always be as pleasant and smooth when you decide to marry, things will get harder and you have to work hard to make everything work but of course not everyone is meant to succeed, some marriages fall apart and in their case it’s because there’s lack of communication and support ~ if only MC expressed her love for singing to Jin, tell her how much it means to her, if only he listened and gave her freedom and support then things might’ve been better but you know what maybe they were never really meant to be together.
the moment they got caught I never felt this pang in my heart rather I felt like finally they’re caught, they will no longer have to lie to Jin’s face, it’s time they make things right, he doesn’t deserve any of this, what he deserves is the truth because you don’t know how much it sucks being cheated on, you will fucking shrink into nothing and doubt and belittle yourself every single fucking day of your life until you get back to your senses and lift yourself up to move on, move forward. it’s just sad that despite what happened he still wanted to forgive her and be with her, I appreciate that instead of staying she chose what she really wanted to do, to free herself, to heal and eventually be with the person who makes her happy, who supports her dreams, who loves her for who she is, flaws and all.
this wasn’t the Picture Perfect ending that Jin wanted but he was happy, they were happy, maybe they were really meant to have each other in their lives, Namjoon and MC are now living together, living their dreams and Jin finally have his kid, an unconventional family setting but as long as there’s love and happiness it’ll always be perfect. | 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒

WHEN YOU LOVE SOMEONE, NO ONE, NOTHING CAN TEAR YOU APART.
sigh, another whirlwind of emotions, there were so many moments where I am truly conflicted on which side to choose I had three options here though it’s clear as day how things will turn out, Team Jungkook, Team Jung-Hyun & Team Yoongi, the story is frustratingly good because I felt all the angst and drama throughout and embraced every bit of it, there were moments where I just let myself cry from the pain of loving too much but feeling helpless because you want to make things right and help people around you (kind of a superhero complex thingy).
I hated Jeon Jungkook with every fiber of my being in this series, all I could say was goodness what a little shit this kid is! he’s so childish and selfish and keeps screwing things up, but hey MC is at fault too for pushing him back to Yi-Jae, anyway as much as I despised the maknae, I learned to love Jung-Hyun with all my heart (also probably because I imagined Christian Yu to be the older Jeon lol) he was perfect tho his past was flawed yet he tried to be a better person here (though he clearly failed at being a better brother), he also helped MC greatly, he was a savior, he saved her from the huge responsibility thrown at her, he helped saved her from the darkest time of her life, he somehow saved her broken heart, “somehow” because no matter how much saving he does they both know the truth, they know who resides in her heart, the one that makes it beat erratically it hurts. - I also had hoped with Yoongi here, to save her aching heart, can he be the one, can we not make him just a friend? hoping she’ll learn to love him...
but life has a funny way of fucking you up right, the drama here made my heart and mind hurt like fuck it! I wish after a certain chapter it gets better but it doesn’t but that’s the beauty of the story for me, the drama helped build the characters and it also introduced their backgrounds, I pitied Yi-Jae she was played and tricked into this sick game when she only wants to be loved (but heyyyyyy okay just read it), Jung-Hyun and his dark past was also discussed here, the angsty drama is addicting tbh, you have to read to agree with me hmmm i will stop here to not spoil the story further, but as I said, in the beginning, no one, nothing, not even love can tear them apart, because it’s written in the stars that those two were meant to be together no matter how much they had to struggle to be together, no matter how many people try to get in their way, it will always be them forever, until the end of time. | 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒
