I went in expecting nothing but kink, given the book’s reputation, but I was actually surprised by how much story there was. Even with the insta-love, the relationship isn’t perfect, and their incompatibilities actually matter.

I could’ve done without the constant “inner goddess,” and Ana gets pretty insufferable by the end - but her sass does win me back sometimes.

"I haven't signed [the contract] yet. So rules, schmules. And I don't start [work] until 9:30."

"'Schmules'? Not sure where that appears in Webster's Dictionary."
