5 MORE WAYS TO SHOW THE PLANET LOVE WHILE STAYING HOME We just did our clap for the NHS. My heart is full. ❤️ It's not perfect (for a start, we need to keep insisting that the government improve their salaries), but it's beautiful to connect with fellow humans in appreciation. OK, onto more planet loving ideas: 1. Embrace learning & diversify what you read. I’m aiming to read more articles/books about climate change, conservation & regeneration from a variety of sources instead of my usual go-tos. While this may not be a time of action in some ways, it can be a purposeful & educational time so we are ready to go back into the world with greater insights & ideas. 2. Keep recycling & composting. Yep, we are all struggling to be low waste during this time. A lot of unpackaged stuff is suddenly plastic wrapped or our go-to low waste stores are closed, but let's continue doing what we can to reduce our waste if possible. Using reusable bags is an easy win. 🙂♻️ 3. Embrace buying less. This is a tough time financially for many. I'm self employed, so I totally relate. We need to watch our spending. We aren't listening to the advertisers as they try to sell us crap we don't need because there is more important stuff going on & hopefully we can move forward with more considered shopping habits once this is all over. Plus, this is an opportunity to use everything up. #frugalityftw 4. Try some DIY. Making your own plant milks or other items that are difficult to find in stores (like fresh bread- unlikely in my case tbh but good to have goals 😋) is also a great way to cut down on excess packaging. We are now in a routine of making cashew milk every few days. I'll add the recipe to my stories. 5. Switch to green energy. It's *so* quick & easy to start using cleaner energy at home.
