The creaking is all that can heard from the Wooden Men, your terrified breaths are all it needs to lumber to your hiding spot.
Dumb little mini I made entirely because I found a fucking sick bucket piece in the Wargames Atlantic Villager kit.

Back to the worst city on Mallus
I took a break from mini painting last month because I was drawing for Art Fight. Now that Art Fight's over I thought I'd work a bit on my Mordheim board. I built these risers for my board out of 2" tall styrofoam blocks and glued on these brick and cobblestone textures to sides. Couple colors of paint, a drybrush and shadewash later and these were ready for the table!
One day I'll do a proper photoshoot for my board but I need to figure out a setup where the rest of my basement isn't in the shot.
While I was at it I also painted this 3d printed building I had bought from Adepticon last year. Thing crazy, just painted all the base colors, drybrushed it, then hit it with a shade wash so it'd be tabletop ready. I believe this model is from Dark Realms Forge Briarwood terrain set.
Frostgrave game from the other day. I didnt actually get to play, i was working but i got to watch them run it while i was. Looks like a super simple game and a lot of fun. Im excited to get to test out my warband.
I'm running Frostgrave games at the Bristol Independent Gaming Demo Day tomorrow afternoon, so while I had the minis out, I thought I'd take some warband shots with Jon Hodgson winter backdrops
A Grubby Cultist
Originally I had a much brighter shade of orange, but I decided to lean into the dirtier look left over by the wash.

Recently I got really interested in Frostgrave and found those neat paper figurines from @beardedruckus to get my armies started. Also: a great way to spend an afternoon with some light arts and crafts with my daughter, who now also is interested in Frostgrave <3
Also she gave all of them names. Here are my highlights:
Sakira (no relations to the singer) and her apprentice Sa, who is a boy with magic lipstick
The dark wizard Hörnchen (meaning something like Cute Horns)
Klobürste (Toilet Brush) (I have since explained what a spiked mace is)
Süßkopf (Cutehead) Because he has cute eyes and would rather be on the good guys team.
Cultists 01-07
Pixies for Silver Bayonet (and also Imps for Frostgrave)!
These little bastards are the most irritating thing on a Silver Bayonet table: They can't even hurt you, instead of attacking they just give you a fatigue token that makes your stats a little worse, AND as little feyfuckers they have an inherent anti-tech field that fucks up any nearby guns. Deeply annoying wee beasties, I'm so excited to play with them.
I was worried their smallness would make them more difficult to paint but actually it just meant they painted up super fast. Thank you Speedpaints! Actually Army Painter's Pastel Seafoam speedpaint gave me exactly the look I was hoping for on the wings, I'm so happy it turned out that way. The rest of their scheme is simplistic since you wouldn't be able to see anything more complex anyway, given the size they are. That's 5 more models done!
