I realized I haven't posted many updates on ongoing games, so here's the latest news in what I'm getting up to in my role as GM and RPG Writer/Enthusiast.
Tomorrow, I'll be running session five of an ongoing campaign I've titled "Frontier Spirits." The game takes place in a setting of my own design, a primal wilderness full of danger and mystery, where people struggle to build islands of stability and safety while seeking new understanding of the world around them. The PCs have embarked on a mission to build and protect a new frontier town deep in the wilds, an endeavor that's claimed the lives of countless explorers before them. Up to this point, they've spent their time building up town infrastructure, gathering allies to their flag, and fighting off attacks from all manner of dangerous beasties. So far, so good.
I'm using the legend system, which is an interesting take on D20 that I've found to be rich with opportunities for customization. We've been looking for a nice and complex system after a few months of playing games in Fate Core, and Legend has so far provided enough of a meaty system to sate our appetites. I've written up some decent homebrew that I may post here later.
Besides this game, there's another Legend campaign I'm playing in (but not running), and a few other prospects on the distant horizon. I'm also working on some Terribly Secret RPG related prospects, which you're certainly hear more of in the near future.
