Writing, mostly. Roleplaying with friends. Watching YouTube videos.
Tbh I've been fairly depressed lately so not a lot of fun stuff going on. Hopefully I'll be able to get a handle on it before it gets much worse. Even if I can't improve it, I can keep it and my surroundings from falling apart. I hope.

The thing about writing gothic fiction is it's a genre with fangs, or at least it's supposed to. It is not supposed to be comfortable or easy or light. It will bite you back. It's supposed to bite you back. From the very beginning of the genre it's been controversial. That is it's nature, and that is okay.
So listen to me, fellow writers of gothic, horror, and dark fiction in general: Bite your readers. Bite the censors. Bite back against the sanitization of fiction. Fuck the people who want everything to be a fanfiction coffee shop au. Write your triggering content and write it well, however you deem that to be. Write your romance, your horror, your terror, your melodrama. Write it out and write it well. We owe it to ourselves and to our readers and to our society to create that mirror people fear to look in.
