Frogeyes is 13 years old and has lived in Seacroft her whole life. Despite looking and acting human for the most part, she actually isn’t human at all. Her mother is a nature spirit who lives in a pond, and Frogeyes was born from a large frog egg that appeared in the pond shortly after her mother had had a fling with another particularly amphibious nature spirit. Her mother is not very creative and named her after her large frog-like eyes. Other than that, she looks very human, and she acts like a human as well, aside from spending more time in water than most people. She is also trans. She likes elegant things and is always excited when her half-brother Valentine brings her trinkets from the city where he lives and works as a postman. She would love to move to the city herself one day and become a stage actress or singer or other glamorous profession. She’s a dreamer and lives with her head in the clouds a bit, and she can be rather vain and selfish but never means to hurt anyone’s feelings. She’s independent, having lived by herself in a house near her mother’s pond for about 2 years. She’s melodramatic and has a romantic streak, though no one has yet struck her fancy, and she reads romance novels that are of the same literary caliber as Wilhelm’s detective novels (not very good). She is best friends with Cabbagehead, a girl around her age who also lives and grew up in Seacroft. She can speak the language of her home country and would like to learn French but never tries.
