!FEEDBACK is appreciated! – Fritz/Yasemine: The Best (Löwenzahn)
I grew up with this show and have made a video about it, even though probably nobody here knows of it. But there are no other videos of this topic online and I would appreciate some feedback on this artwork that is close to my heart.
Löwenzahn (literally German for “dandelion”) is a German family/ kids edutainment show that has been around since the 70s and new episodes are still being made. Since the early 2000s it is hosted by the in-world-inventor Fritz Fuchs (the name of the role, the actor provides a mix of interacting with the other people around him and the audience/the camera). Fritz lives in an old construction trailor full of inventions and odds-and-ends in Berlin with his dog Cookie (that is why he is giving Yasemine the cookie dog in the end). Every episode deals with another aspect of everyday life, especially nature and mechanics.
Because of the title of the show there are numerous references to dandelions, like in the first scene I chose.
Fritz's more-or-less implied girlfriend/love interest is Yasemine, who owns the local kiosk (a small shop with ice cream, magazines and coffee). Their relationship is never explicitly stated since it is a family show (a bit like in Elena), but the hints are definitely there (obvious for the older audience). They also tend to show jealousy when the other shows interest in someone else for an episode in between. I tried to find all fitting clips of them I could find and, concerning the topic, chose a German song: Das Beste by Silbermond.
The translation was made by me with a few pointers from a lyrics translation website about the song. It was good practice for the translation class at university, too, so a bit like voluntary practice…
