Tyee often found herself at the park, watching as parents and children played together. Their laughter was infectious, bringing a hint of a smile to her lips. One of the few times she found herself still capable of the action. Many might have found it macabre to watch other children play when theirs never would again, but Tyee found it soothing. These children gave her a reason to go out and scavenge. To make sure that they would grow up in a world in which they were safe. Protected. Like what she had been unable to do for her own son. She'd been a fool to try and raise a child in the wastes. Her regretful thoughts are interrupted by the presence of someone moving to sit next to her. A peek out of the corner of her eye told her it was a man. She had seen him at the park a few times with his daughter. Tyee hoped he wasn't here to tell her off. Not when this tough wooden bench was the only place she felt any semblance of peace.
