this free browser escape room regenerates a brand new 3D maze every single run
ok so Voxel Maze: Echo Ruins is the browser game I've been quietly obsessed with. it's a 3D voxel escape room where the maze layout is different every time because it's built from a fresh seed each run, and you only get a few seconds of top-down preview before you're walking it blind. no download, no account, just a tab.
what even is this
first-person (or third-person if you want) escape room set in procedurally generated voxel ruins. pick a ruin + difficulty, get a quick top-down peek at the layout, then walk the corridors yourself investigating plaques and devices, clearing seals, racing to an exit portal before the timer runs out. voxel art but the ruins themselves have real atmosphere.
controls
WASD or arrow keys, virtual joystick if you're on mobile. hit V anytime to swap first-person/third-person.
things that make this actually replayable
12 ruins, 3 difficulty tiers: from Mossy Threshold all the way to the final ruin, Echo Core. Explorer is chill and gives you more time, Ruin Hunter is brutal but pays out better
10 device types: a plaque lock that needs three clues pieced together, a memory rune that makes you repeat a growing sequence, crystals and switches that drop generated multiple-choice puzzles, an hourglass that gives time back on a correct answer
14 puzzle formats: corridor direction logs, crystal sequences, rotating letter dials, balance scales — every device hashes into a different format so nothing repeats
18 skills to buy: a flare that shows the next steps to the exit, a rune pick that smashes through walls, a totem that blocks one time penalty, a magnet that boosts future puzzle rewards — currency comes straight from solving puzzles
who this is for
anyone who wants a free 3D escape room with zero install
people who want a maze that's actually different every time they play
fans of slow atmospheric puzzle exploration over fast arcade stuff
anyone who likes memory + logic puzzles
tip
use that few-second top-down preview to actually memorize the exit direction and the big junctions — future you will need it when the timer's tight. also the first hint on any device is free, so just use it when stuck instead of wandering.

ok this free browser zombie game where math gates decide your squad size is unreasonably fun
so I've been playing this thing called Z-Squad: Last Survivor and I need to talk about it because the core loop is genuinely a little unhinged in the best way. no download, no account, just a browser tab and a squad of soldiers that grows or shrinks depending on which math gate you dodge into.
wait, what even is this game
it's a survival runner. your squad auto-walks forward and auto-shoots zombies, you just steer left/right to pick which gate to run through. pixel art zombie apocalypse vibes but leaning casual, not grim — very "chill horror," if that's a genre.
controls?
drag left or right. that's it. mouse or finger, doesn't matter. shooting happens on its own so the whole "skill" of the game is just picking gates fast enough.
why the gates are the whole point
math gates: every fork in the road has two gates, each with an operation slapped on it — +5, x2, -3, ÷2. pick wrong and your squad shrinks on the spot. hit zero soldiers and it's over. it's basically mental math under pressure and somehow that's the fun part
five zombie types: regular ones, a fast one that catches up quick, a tank that eats bullets, a splitter that breaks into mini zombies when it dies, and a boss waiting at the end of each stage
powerups: fire rate boost, a shotgun-style multishot, a shield, laser and missile upgrades — all drop mid-run, all apply instantly
lobby upgrades: coins from clearing stages buy permanent upgrades for starting squad size, fire rate, and a shotgun unlock, so every run after your first is a little easier
who's this for
anyone who wants a free browser game for a quick break, zero install
people who want something that works with one finger on mobile
zombie game fans who don't want the heavy grimdark tone
anyone who likes a little arcade-brain math on top of their action games
unsolicited tip
don't blindly go for every x2 gate. once your squad's already big, cutting hard toward a multiplier gate usually means crossing into the zombie-heavy lane on the other side. early game, take the addition gates and play it safe — save the multiplier chasing for once your numbers are already solid.
