He's not sure exactly how it started (thats a blatant lie. there was a job opening at the Smithsonian and it came with behind the scenes perks and he wanted to abuse the heck out of them at the Air and Space Museum) but he was now a personal assistant.
and it was kinda fire actually.
not that he would ever say that out loud.
Dr. Prince (You may call me Diana, Daniel. If you call me Danny. TouchĂŠ) was an expert on Ancient Greece. (and something about the way she quirked the corner of her lip whenever she said that reminded him of when someone asked him about ghosts. but he refused to think about that connection any longer than necessary because he knew it would complicate his life and he was decidedly looking to not do that thank you very much)
and thanks to his teen years spent brawling with the dead, he knew a fair amount about the topic himself. (an amount that was definetly not suspicous) Which was probably the only reason he was kept on long enough to go from highly disfunctional ex-teen vigilantee to competent PA. if he was being entirely honest.
He's not entirely sure how he got the job. he knows why he applied, and why they kept him on, but the hiring of an astronomy PhD canadite for a PA position at the Natural History Museum was beyond him.
It was probably Clockwork.
Whatever, he was getting off track.
He didnt know how he became a PA, but he didnt hate it.
Especially when it brought billionaire tech genius (and noteable playboy) Bruce Wayne to his desk. There's something inherently satisfying about making a rich guy wait in a room not designed for waiting just because he thought he could just barge in without an appointment.
It had been 20 minutes.
And Danny had made exactly zero attempts to contact his boss.
Wayne had begun to fidget. Barely noticeable unless you had lengthy experience studying people for sudden changes in behavior denoting agression or possesion. Which Danny, unfortunetly, had.
Eventually his fun had to end. And that time came at the 35 minute mark when the sensor he had covertly embedded in her office triggered the notification on his computer to blink once. He waited a few extra minutes, set a calendar appointment. waited for his phone to ring (startling the billionare in the process) made a show of checking the device and 'typing' a response and then got up and sauntered the 6 feet from his desk to Dr. Prince's door and knocked to get her attention (and make sure his face didnt let on that he Knew that she hadn't been in her office for the last hour.) Hyper aware of the eyes following him.
It was shaping up to be an interesting kind of day.

Okay someone needs to write about this, you know those neglected batfam reader stories?? Hear me out on thisâŚ
Youâve grown up with the batfam, an accidental one night stand your mom had with Bruce, she died (as one does) and you get sent to live with your father Bruce.
It takes a bit but you quickly get used to being ignored after years of it happening. Itâs more like you are a stranger to all of them, you were a regular civilian so you couldnât relate to their secret bat duties, I mean when your entire family fights crime but you, youâre gonna miss out on bonding opportunities.
As you get older you spend time out of the house more, nobody cares cause nobody gives a fuck. And the more you get older the longer you spend outside, 1 day, 3 days⌠1 weekâŚ. 5 months, 1 year etc.
Until one day you come back after 2 years, 8 months pregnant. Hell breaks loose.
âWhatâs that?â Damian says pointing to your very obvious pregnancy bump scrunching his face up confused.
âAn alien, no use your head. What does it look like?â You reply annoyed, everyone is staring at you like youâre some sort of alien that just started speaking English. To be fair, it was kind of like you were. A male dominated family, where only the father was the only one bringing home biological and nonbiological children left and right, now all of a sudden you come home pregnant? Thatâs probably pretty alien to them.
âListen Iâm only here because I had a fight with my husband.â You sigh before Dick squeaks out âHUSBAND?â Like that was the most shocking situation.
Actually the most shocking part was who your husband and the babyâs father is, which you deliberately avoiding telling them about him. Until one night your husband breaks into the Wayne residence determined to win his lover back. đ¤
Edit: still a free prompt however!! I just want to add the official start of my version of this prompt is here!!! Go check it out!
Steve really wants a baby. He's pushing 35, still single, and at this point, he's willing to do whatever it takes to be a father, including raising a child alone.
Robin really doesn't want a baby. But Steve is so desperate, a kid of his own is all he talks about these days. She's willing to do whatever it takes to get her best friend back and in this instance, whatever it takes seems to be carrying a child for him. Besides, he says he'll just be a single dad. As far as the kid needs to know, she's just the cool aunt.
Eddie never really thought about having a baby. He's known he was gay since, well, basically since birth and yeah, lots of gay couples have kids but it seems like such a hassle to find a surrogate, pay for all the medical stuff, and then what? You end up with something you have to take care of for 18 years that just leaves you in the end.
So Robin agrees to carry a baby for her single best friend Steve. There's no way he can afford IVF on a teacher's salary so they settle on the old fashion way instead. Ew, no, not that! At-home artificial insemination. Robin gets some hormone shots, Nancy throws them a party, and Steve jizzes in a cup. One problem though, Eddie had to use the bathroom really bad after Steve... did his thing and he accidentally knocked over the cup. Now Steve's little swimmers are swimming down the drain.
Robin has been complaining about how awful and crazy the hormone shot made her feel. Offhandedly earlier that night, Eddie heard her grumble at Steve, "I'm only giving you this one chance, Dingus. If your jock sperm can't kick a home run then it just wasn't meant to be." So Eddie has two choices, tell everyone what he did, effectively dashing Steve's chance at fatherhood, or refill the cup.
"Looks like someone forgot this in the bathroom," Eddie announces as he holds the refilled cup aloft, just out of reach of Nancy who appointed herself the official inseminator. "Give me that," she demands, between tiny hops. He watches her struggle for a few more seconds before giving up the goods.
Over the next few months, Eddie doesn't give it another thought. When Robin announces that the baby is kicking during the baby shower, Eddie stays firmly in his seat, completely uninterested in the parasitic presence gestating inside his friend. It isn't until Steve introduces him to the new baby that the weight of his decision hits him. As their eyes meet, Eddie can't help but notice that the new life Steve is holding has his dark brown eyes and his curly brown hair. Fuck, he can't just let Steve raise his kid. He'll end up dressing him in khaki and letting him listen to Top 40s music.
But the kid isn't really his, he realizes as Steve coos down at the baby, jiggling him up and down to soothe his fussing. It's their baby! Somehow, he and Steve made a baby together and they haven't even had sex yet. Eddie has no way to break that information to Steve without also breaking his heart in the process. But maybe he doesn't have to, maybe he can just finally make that move he's always been too scared to make before. Maybe he can have the baby, the boyfriend, the whole package!
Now he's just gotta find the nearest florist so he can ask his baby daddy out the right way.
Character whoâs a victim of corrupt magic, skin tainted by the ink or burns of the brimmed hats that basically becomes a werewolf/Fiona/Beast situation:
- Daytime theyâre a beast, nighttime theyâre a human â or vice versa
- Iâd see this character as one who isnât a witch or an apprentice, but someone that just needs to be observed in fear of them going feral, injuring themself, or to keep that type of magic as hidden as possible
^ - Would be a good prompt idea for them to reject or hate magic due to whatâs happened to them, and the reactions of the characters
- Consciousness/sanity/intelligence is still retained in their beast form, meaning the pain of their body contorting every morning/evening is felt
- They were experimented on by the brimmed hat witches with a group of other children before being abandoned where âthe beastsâ live, believing they should go mad from their state and holds little to no humanity left in them (they were wrong)
- The Knights Moralis figure out what happened from some townsfolk believing in a werewolf-like creature roaming and killing their livestock, leading to them being caught and locked away for the time being
^ - It wasnât a terrible situation, but it was certainly uncomfortable. Theyâd likely be trapped inside a single building, if that, prodded at and interrogated until they figure out what the kidâs problem truly is.
^ - Their socialization capabilities would be hindered, similarly with their education. I could see the moralis teaching them as best as they can, primarily in their speaking and some light literacy learning, maybe some mathematics. Social norms would likely stay the poor, without children their age and without proper familial bonds.
^ -I could see the Moralis looking around for a âfreeâ Watchful Eye to take over their new babysitting gig, and of course, who else but Olruggio is the lucky one they request. (*I would suggest having this character be the first child in the atelier, which is why Olruggio is âfreeâ)
^ - I could see Olruggio originally declining, but after sharing the letter with Qifrey, heâs persuaded to take them in and let them stay at Qifreyâs atelier. That persuasion was probably nothing but a pleading look, letâs be honest
- Their arrival is at night, which was specified in the next series of letters that included their documentation (observations made at the village, then at the building they were kept in, their education levels, and of course, the âmedicalâ documents) on the child.
- Despite Olruggio technically being the one in charge of the character, Qifrey is the one who welcomes them first. Heâs extremely curious, and is even then searching for the brimmed hats, and fully believes this is a great first step to find what they stole from himâwhat they did to him.
- What they did to them.
I wrote a little bit for this:
The introductions are slim and quiet between the adults and child, likely very awkward as they watch this poor kid barely let out a âhiâ with an apprehensive, almost aggressive glare directed at the two. Their cloakâclearly from the moralisâhides all physical features aside from their face, which is only partially hidden by the hood. They let them in, and Qifrey is the one who tries to begin interrogating the child, not yet learning how to be a proper teacher or parental figure, asking questions that cause the child to snap back at the man.
Olruggio has to reel him back in and separates the two, becoming the one who shows the atelier to the child and directs them to where theyâll be living. He makes sure to explain to the child that the entire atelier is theirs to explore, but for now, perhaps just a single room will ease their stress, at least for the morning.
When sunrise does come, both Olruggio and Qifrey are there to observe the transformation, Qifrey with a pen and journal to describe what occurs, Olruggio with a blanket, some pain meds, and a bowl of water for the soon-to-be beast. Based on what theyâve read, the child goes feral from the pain, only to pass out from it and return sane after they wake.
Theyâre quick to express their painsânot verballyâbut the physical tension and tightened jaw is enough to make it clear that their transformation has begun.
It starts slow, too. Bones and muscles crackling and stretching, skin taut against tearing tendons and meat as they watch their entire body morph into something barely considered human. Itâs not the end, though.
They watch as their jaw twists and their ears morph, nails transforming into claws as paw pads appear on their fingertips and palms. A tail grows out of their end, meat and bone quickly being consumed by fur as it puffs up.
Throughout it all, the child is crying, calling out for help as blood seeps down their chinâdown their muzzleâtheir eyes cry and their body tenses as their hips ache and twist, their legs and arms transforming into a quadrupedal figure as fur races up their spine. It traces their hair and shoulders, going down their legs and arms, ending at their hands as their voice finally breaks into harsh howling barks.
What animal are they? Itâd be best to describe them as some feline-canine-bear-like being, with thick fur made for snow and a tiny body still ever so clearly a childâs.
The pen and journal Qifrey had been holding is no longer of importance to him as he watches the child tremble in front of them. Whimpered pants are all that escapes them, their limbs shake with each inhale.
Theyâre not feral. Theyâre scared.
As Olruggio steps closer, they both watch the child pull away from the adult, their handsâpawsâcurling inward as their thick tail curls around their paws, hiding them away. Their head has yet to rise.
The blanket is soft on their fur, and it quickly causes them to look up at the men. Wide eyesâstill human, still oh so intelligent and oh so youngâstare at them as Qifrey joins Olruggioâs spot right in fornt of the child, his gaze unreadable as he observes something that wasnât written in the documents they had received
An intricate spell, burned so harshly on their back, no fur can grow. The lines and bumps harshly healed over makes it clear that this wasnât some stamp, it wasnât some branding.
No, this was done intentionally. This required hours of repeated burning on the entirety of this childâs back. Straight lines and edges along the circle so neatlyâit makes their skin crawl.
This wasnât the first child with this mark drawn onto their skin. It couldnât have been. Not like this.

đŹ 28  đ 1793  â¤ď¸ 14137 ¡ I headcanon that Husk used to turn up in weird places after a night of drinking.
Inspired by the amazing artwork attached above by @adyophene ^
Iâd love to read a one-shot where Alastor and Niffty set out to find Husk after heâs gone on yet another benderâpresumably not long after heâs handed his soul over to Alastor.
Choosing to hunt down the gambler the old fashioned way? Well, it gets Niffty out of the house for the day, and gives Alastor a perfect opportunity to âbondâ with his newly acquired soul. (And, of course, to torment Husk in person instead of just yanking him around by the chain. Enrichment activities and all that.)
Naturally, the duo eventually discover a very familiar âcatâ passed out in the display window of a pet shop run by a couple of imps. Alastor immediately decides to put on a full production about purchasing the precious little creature.
Itâs Husk.
Hungover, miserable, and already owned by Hellâs most well-dressed psychopathâHusk.
And yet Alastor buys him anyway, for no small chunk of change. He also allows Niffty to pick out a sparkly collar with a bow, chats with the shop owner about proper feeding, and even settles on a bag of diet hellcat food, because humiliation works best when itâs nutritionally balanced.
Husk just lies there and lets it all happen. Heâs too hungover to careâor to resist being accessorized. (Even if the heart shaped tag engraved with the name âHuskerâ does piss him off a bit.) However- if Alastor wants to waste money on a fluffy pet-bed and oversized litter box- then that is his problem.
But the moment the Radio Demon cheerfully insists that his ânew petâ will need to be declawed and updated on his shots before he can be taken home? Husk ears perk and he suddenly remembers how to pay attention.
Then when Alastor casually asks if the shop offers spaying and neutering for its animals?
Husk is out the door in two seconds flat.
Suddenly, heâs more sober than heâs been since the night Alastor sat himself at Huskâs card table and ruined his after-life.

The idea of nest building having a different social acceptance between alphas and omegas. Everyone builds nests but it's typically an omegan thing to do. They build the family nests. They are open with their nests. The only time alphas typically make nests is if they are in rut and even then most of the time omegas build the nest for them.
But what happens when an alpha goes into such an intense rut that they go back to their basic hardwiring. Back to their most basic instinct.
Our lead alpha has been struggling with their ruts. They come irregularly and with varying intensity. It's dangerous so they are being kept in an rut rehab facility so the doctors can study the ruts and closely observe their behavior. While staying there they have been getting along with a beautiful omega nurse. The nurse is just perfect in every way. Their scent is sweet, eyes beautiful, neck aching to be marked. Most of the time when the alpha goes into rut they are thinking of the omega.
But then the alpha is sent into the most intense rut they've ever had, hell, maybe the most intense rut the facility has ever seen.
The nurse, who has been falling for the alpha themself, is never allowed to observe the ruts of any alphas. Its above their pay grade and the doctors worry that an omegas observing a rut would send them into heat and an omega in heat in a facility full of unstable alphas is a no go. But the nurse can hear the painful howls of the alpha. Can hear them calling their name.
After a week with no change the omega insists that they can help the alpha. The facility is out of ideas and at this point keeping the alpha away from the one omega they want is inhumane torture. So they let the nurse go to the alpha.
The omega knocks on the door even though they had already unlocked it. If they were to walk straight into the room it could illicit a dangerous reaction from the alpha. when the alpha opens the door the omega is hit hard with the scent of rut. The omega can immediately feel slick drip out of them. They expect the alpha to pounce on them. They are ready for it. Prepared. But the feral, rutted alpha's eyes only melt as they take the omegas wrist and pulls them into their room.
There, the omega sees the most beautiful nest. It's intricate and stunning. Different blankets and pillows piled high around the edges. A dip right in the middle for the alpha to nestle in.
There, the alpha defies expectations and is sweet to the omega. Gentle touches and soft kisses. The poor alpha is so far gone they can't even speak properly but they purr and trills their love. They aren't harsh with their movements, they don't hurt the omega. It's all soft and sweet.
Hear me out: a sort of take on the ânormal again/was it all a dreamâ idea where one of the characters (not Buffy) wakes up before the whole call to action only to find out that none of the things they experienced have happened.
In my opinion, this would probably be most interesting as either angel post series waking up as Liam in 1757, Rupert waking up in 1975 as an 19-year-old first year about to drop out of Oxford, or Spike waking up as William in whatever year you decide.
The mystery: is it time travel? Are they dreaming this? Was it a spell? Or are all of their memories of the "future" completely fabricated??
I'm leaning towards Liam because I want to give him actual character development (and have him fight against the Crown). Does he dust Darla, thereby sparing Drusilla & William? Does he agonize over whether or not he should become a vampire again just for the chance to see and save his friends? Does he remain human and become a hunter, setting up a program to train hunters & revitalize the watcher's council of the time? How often does he think of Team Angel, wondering whether their lives will be the same? Will Cordelia still go to LA??
