I haven’t made a post for the past three episodes despite having things to say because I was busy, but I’m doing it for this one. Mostly because I see too many people talking about the chopped hoe and not enough about my goat Mylene.

Believe it or not, the opening image of the ep with everyone at the beach is directly copied from concept art for that fuckass dubiously canon Trash Kraken comic released all the way back in 2017!

I didn’t even know that until like 5 minutes ago. I thought the scene was just a reference to the beach scene that’s actually *in* the comic, but I found the above image on the fandom wiki for it! Wild. I’ve never read these because they’re like, not good, but I remember seeing the picture online a long time ago. They do seem to have added the volleyball in.

Ok enough about that. We got some swimsuit redesigns! Can’t see them very well though. What I do love is how Rose has a different yet identical headband made specifically to match her swimsuit.

Ivan wearing his cap into the water is understandable, some people get sunburnt very easily, but keeping all his rings on is CRAZY. Bro is about to have a Kim Kardashian diamond earring experience

Despite having the same fit on and everything, Manon clearly feels older now. She comes across as more endearing, I suppose because she’s old enough to hold an actual conversation. I’m surprised her design is the exact same when a year’s change is much bigger to her than it is for the teen cast.

Eewwwww Noe is so fugly. This dude looks like when you draw something digitally without flipping the canvas, but then you flip it for the first time after you’re done. I think a lot of it is the head shape, he’s got that unnaturally flat ass head and the slicked back hair isn’t doing him any favors.

In retrospect it’s completely unsurprising that someone so forehead deficient is related to Chloe because she also has that head shape

I wonder if any of these other logos will be relevant with the council later on. I don’t think so, they’re probably just filler icons

MYLENE BACKSTORY! It sounds like Fred used to be greatly absorbed in his career and spent a lot of time away from home chasing fame. I think they’re implying that his wife left him because of that, and he was left to take care of Mylene himself? Then he had some character development and focused more on home than work.

The way they talk about the mom is so interesting because in s5 Mylene bitterly says that she left them, but now they think about her more fondly? And they talk like they have absolutely zero contact with her, not like they only see her at Christmas or anything.

Ok theory time: this is dark and idk if ml would go there, but could it be that she committed suicide? I could see some evidence in support of that. Usually when mothers decide to leave their husbands over feeling neglected, they take the kids, but Mylene was left with her father. When Fred talks about making time for family, he says he wishes he figured that out sooner, and Mylene says if mom were still here she’d be proud of him. That’s not really how people usually talk about deadbeat parents? Usually you wouldn’t outwardly care about what they might think if they were here now, and you certainly wouldn’t expect them to be impressed by good parenting. Plus, Fred says his decision affects “the whole of our family” which I think is a weird way to phrase it when it’s just the two of them.

I think if she did die due to suicide, it would explain why Mylene seems to resent her for “leaving them” yet they talk about her if she was hypothetically still around. “Sometimes I feel like she’s right here with us, don’t you?” As the camera zooms out to them sitting at a table for three with an extra empty stool. We know Mylene really struggles with mental health, and it could be genetic. When Fred “wishes he figured it out sooner”, maybe he failed to notice the condition she was in because he didn’t spend enough time at home, and regrets that because he could have done something. He says he’ll never make up for the time he spent away from them when Mylene was little.

Speaking of genetics, Fred really got a redesign didn’t he. He looks quite different both normally and especially as The Mime. He also feels older. But since s1 and even now, he really doesn’t look like Mylene? They had the opportunity to make them more similar with the redesigns and they didn’t. Either Mylene is somehow not his biological child or she’s a genetic clone of her mother.

I love that Adrien was the one who answered the trivia question about his dad after the long pause and Marinette refused to say anything, and even then Adrien is just reciting the expected answer without really believing it.

I think this is the most different angles we’ve ever gotten of someone’s place except maybe Marinette’s, like damn they wanted to show us every inch of this apartment.

MYLENE’S ROOM! She has a giant blue bookcase taking up a whole wall with a ton of books and a globe. Lots of plants to no one’s surprise. Her bed is lofted like a bunk bed and there’s a rainbow painted on one leg. The opposite leg has fairy lights wrapped around it. In another shot we see she has a rainbow tie dye banner on the ceiling as well as plants hanging. She even had a window box of flowers attached to her bedframe? She has a monstera. I guess there’s a wardrobe/dresser under the bed. She has a big poster above her desk that says save the planet, and her mousepad is the earth! Obv more plants. There are flowers and hearts painted on the walls, probably by her, and more dangly fairy lights. There’s another bookcase next to the desk with hampers on the bottom.

They’re even showing us their bathroom damn we’ve got the whole floor plan. Every room in the house in great detail at all angles except Fred’s bedroom. I don’t think we’ve even seen Adrien’s house in this much detail

This transformation was so fire dare I say one of the best ones? What an upgrade from the mid af s4 one. They kept the iconic boop but added more gymnastics to it and that cool mirror clone effect? The part with the ponytail is cool

Not to mention the episode is called “Noe” not “The Mime 2.0” which people are comparing to the episode “Felix” because the only episodes named after people are ones where they’re sentis. And it really highlights how he is the villain of this episode, like the mime isn’t the bad guy, it’s very much him the whole time.

They’ve suggested that senti kids are born as babies like normal, but part of me is like what if Audrey made Noe more recently as a full grown dude just to serve this purpose. That’d be messed up. Otherwise, he’s probably her first child

Imagine being a senti AND chopped that’s so sad. Your mom could’ve made you look like anything and she decided to make you look like a flipped canvas

I’d easily believe that Chloe is also a senti and she was considered to be a diamond at the diamond dance. Zoe on the other hand? We still have no clue who this Lee guy is, but she might be a regular human? I don’t think she gets invited to the cult gatherings. We’ll see

With the new background info that broken peacock disease affects the part of the body your emotions were pulled from to make the senti… could it be that Audrey’s sentis are so utilitarian and loveless that she can make them while taking zero damage? That she makes them with no emotion of her own?

We now know the identity of 3 council members (Tomoe, Noe, Camilo Pista) and I’m guessing they’ll slowly introduce the rest throughout the arc. There’s the thing about Gabriel’s phone contacts revealing two more of their names, but we don’t know them yet. I feel like these will all be new characters from here on out.

Maybe my theory about Mylene’s mom is totally wrong, and I’m just a grimdark fan theorist, and the whole time she just moved to Brazil
