Fred Weasley had a gift for many things, blowing things up, bending rules, getting out of trouble with a grin, but making you completely lose your mind mightâve been his most potent magic.
You were tucked up in his room at the Burrow, summer air warm, windows cracked open, and the low sound of enchanted wireless humming lazily from the corner. Youâd stolen one of his shirts again, the old one from the shop with the neckline stretched and sleeves too big, hanging off your shoulder just enough to drive him mad.
He was watching you from the foot of the bed, eyes raking over your body like he hadnât just had you the night before. Or the morning before that. Or up against the bathroom sink not twelve hours ago.
You peeked over the top of your book, trying not to smirk.
âYouâre staring.â
Fred didnât deny it. âI am. You look so good like that. All casual. Comfy. Completely fuckable.â
You snorted, but your thighs pressed together.
âBit needy today, arenât you?â
He tilted his head, grin wolfish. âYou calling me needy? You, who literally screamed my name loud enough last night I think the ghoul in the attic clapped for us?â
You laughed, and that laugh earned a low growl from him. He moved, slow and controlled, like a lion stalking prey, crawling up the bed until he was hovering above you, nose brushing your cheek.
âYou calling me needyâŚâ he whispered, dragging his lips across your jaw, ââŚwhile youâre sitting here, soaking through my shirt with your thighs clenched and pretending you donât want me to ruin you.â
Your breath hitched. âFredââ
âLet me eat you out, Y/N.â
â...what?â
He grinned. âYou heard me.â
âYeah, I justâno foreplay? No kissing? Noââ
Fredâs hands were already sliding down your body. âBaby, weâve been doing foreplay since the minute I saw you in my shirt. Iâve been suffering.â
He kissed down your neck, hands lifting the hem of the oversized tee until it bunched at your waist.
âI need you on your back. Legs over my shoulders. Right fucking now.â
Youâd never obeyed so quickly in your life.
He slid your underwear down slowly, teasingly, sucking a kiss to your thigh as he settled between them.
âLook at this,â he said, voice in awe. âYouâre already soaked. Merlinâs tits, love.â
You opened your mouth to snap at him,but then his tongue flattened against your clit, and all that came out was a moan so loud it echoed.
Fred groaned, latching on like he was starving. His tongue circled and licked, slow at first, building gradually, fingers digging into your hips like he was holding onto the last threads of control.
He loved eating you out. It was one of his favorite hobbies,up there with Quidditch and annoying Filch.
And he was good at it. Filthy. Passionate. Worshipful.
âFuck, Fredâpleaseââ
His fingers slid inside you just as his mouth closed around your clit again, and your back arched off the bed.
âThatâs it, darling,â he murmured against you. âLet me hear you.â
Your fingers tangled in his hair, tugging as you whined, thighs shaking. He didnât stop. Didnât even pause.
âOhâfuckâIâm gonnaâFredâfuckââ
You came hard, grinding into his mouth, eyes screwed shut, legs trembling on either side of his head.
He moaned like he loved it,like tasting you was the highlight of his entire day.
And when he finally looked up, face soaked and smug, you were a breathless, blissed-out mess.
âYou good?â he asked, voice hoarse.
You blinked at him. âI canât feel my legs.â
He laughed so hard he had to lean on the bed for balance. âHoly fuck, Y/N. Youâre literally a puddle.â
âShut up.â
âNo, really. Youâre likeâdripping. If you die, Iâm blaming that book you ignored me for.â
You threw a pillow at him. He caught it with one hand and tossed it aside.
Then he was back on you, pulling off the rest of his clothes, lifting your hips like you weighed nothing.
âYou think weâre done?â he teased.
You squeaked when he spread your legs and lined himself up. âIâFredâwaitââ
âJust a little more,â he whispered, kissing your cheek. âIâll go slow.â
But he didnât. Not really.
Because the moment he sank into you, tight and warm and still twitching from your orgasm, his control shattered.
He groaned like you were the best feeling heâd ever known. âFuckâfuckâyouâre squeezing me so tightâhow are you this perfect?â
You gasped, hands gripping his shoulders. âYouâre huge, Fredâoh my godââ
His pace started steady, but it didnât stay that way.
Every time he pulled out and pushed back in, he went deeper. Harder. Faster.
Your legs instinctively locked around his shoulders again, heels digging into his back as he slammed into you over and over.
Your moans were shameless now,raw and honest and wrecked.
Fred leaned down, face close to yours, grinning like heâd just discovered treasure.
âYou love it,â he panted. âBeing fucked like this. All stretched out and cock-drunk for me.â
You nodded helplessly, tears in your eyes from how good it felt.
âSay it,â he demanded, breath hot on your lips. âTell me you love it.â
âI love itâI love it, Fred, pleaseââ
âPlease what, baby?â
âDonât stop.â
âNever.â
His hand reached between you, fingers finding your clit again. Your body jolted at the stimulation, already too much and somehow not enough.
âYou gonna come again for me?â he whispered, kissing your temple.
You nodded desperately. âY-yeahâyes, fuck, pleaseââ
âGood girl.â
That pushed you right over the edge.
You shattered beneath him with a scream, body spasming, stars bursting behind your eyes. Your walls clenched so tight around him, it pulled his orgasm out of him seconds later.
âShitâY/Nââ
He buried himself deep, groaning your name like a prayer as he came hard inside you.
It was messy. Intense. Fucking glorious.
When he finally collapsed beside you, both of you breathless and sweaty and clinging to each other, the room was dead silent except for the ragged sounds of your breathing.
Then, softly:
âStill mad I interrupted your reading?â
You snorted into his chest. âI donât even remember what the book was about.â
Fred chuckled, pulling you into his arms and kissing your forehead. âExactly.â
You both laid there for a moment, tangled in sheets and limbs and sweat, before he grabbed his wand and muttered a quick cleaning spell with a flick.
You sighed. âThatâs cheating.â
He smirked. âThatâs magic.â
A beat passed. Then, softly, Fred looked down at you.
âYâknow I love you, right?â
You blinked. Heat rose to your cheeks. âWhat?â
He smiled. No teasing. No joke. Just Fred, completely sincere.
âI love you, Y/N. Like... all the time. Even when youâre ignoring me for books.â
You cupped his cheek. âI love you too.â
His grin widened. âEven when I turn you into a puddle?â

âOh boy, oh boy!â James claps his hands, rubbing them together in excitement as he, Lily, Remus, and Sirius reach the top of the standsÂ
Lily giggles at her husband's enthusiasm, following him to the front row, while Remus and Sirius brace themselves at the top, catching their breaths after a quite frankly atrocious number of stairs
Today was the big game, not only was it the old rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor, but it was the final, and the first year Harry was serving as captain after Oliver passed the torch to him two years ago. It was safe to say as fun as the Triwizard tournament was the previous year, quidditch was still the marauders and coâs favourite pastime. Hell, the whole school was buzzing
âWere they always that high?â Sirius whispers, rubbing his chest âFuck meâ he breathes heavily
âI think weâre just old now my loveâ Remus chuckles, after all these years he still canât help but wind up his husband just a little bit
Sirius makes a face âFuck you! Iâm not oldâŚyouâre old!â he childishly argues, wearing a grumpy pout that twitches everyone once and again, revealing the smile beneath
âAnd when is your birthday?âÂ
Siriusâ mouth opens to reply but alas the man has nothing and is caught looking like a fish, though heâs a very cute fish in Remusâ mind
âWe might be oldâŚbut youâre still as pretty as you were last time we were up hereâ Remus compliments, leaning down to peck Siriusâ tinting cheeks âPretty boyâ he whispers one last blow before pushing off the beam and joining his friends leaving Sirius flusteredÂ
âPads? You comin?â James calls out, head shooting over âOhhhhâ James barks a knowing laugh, whispering something to Remus and patting his back as he sits down
Sirius canât help but let out a small smile as they turn away âHe thinks Iâm prettyâ he mutters all giddy to himself before joining his friends, taking a seat between Remus and James, with Lily on Jamesâ other side
âSee! I told you we were smart coming early, itâs already beginning to fill upâ Lily points out, smiling to herself as she shrugs off her jacket, grabbing the others as well, before laying them on the seats behind them to save room for when the McKinnonâs made their fashionably late appearance
James smiles, hand finding the top of Lily's head âThat we were, hunâ he agrees, patting her head and soaking up her proud little smile as she smooths out the rest of the coats
âWho are you looking for?â Remus asks, pulling Jamesâ attention back to find Sirius squinting off into the distance
âOur goddaughter, I havenât seen her in agesâ Sirius pouts, squinting harder
âYou saw her at Easter breakâ James chucklesÂ
âOh yeahâ Sirius nods, remembering âStill, I miss herâ he confesses, warming the men's hearts
Sirius and Remus decided against children, not that they didnât want them per se, more they couldnât confirm the child's safety with Remusâ furry little problem. As such, they filled that hole with you and Harry. Sirius took an extra shine to you though, maybe it was your shy yet cheeky nature that reminded him of Remus, or maybe itâs the little bit of himself he saw in you, watching you get sorted into Hufflepuff when everyone else in your big, wonderfully weird family was Gryffindor. Whatever it was, though today was Harryâs day, he still had to make sure you were alright
âDo you want your glasses?â Remus offers, sighing as he watches his husbands sorry display and reaches for his bag
Sirius swats his hand away âI donât need glasses moony, Iâm fine. Itâs just the wind, itâs blowing stuff in my eyesâ he gestures around his face, scrunching his nose before attempting to subtly squint again
Remusâ eyes meet Jamesâ, shaking his head as he mouths âwhy canât he admit defeat?â
James smirks, shrugging as he turns away, now interested in where you were, as is Lily after overhearing the debacle. The four searched for you as the student body make their way to the stands. Glancing around Remusâ spots a wild Weasley, smiling as he watches Ron attempt to hold back his blushes as Hermione fixes the red paint on his cheeks. Lily spots Neville, Ginny and Luna in another stand wearing their handmade lion mains. Sirius spots wellâŚnothing, but your father on the other hand is the one to finally find you.Â
He watches as you enter the stand diagonal to them with Cedric, Jess and two other boys he doesnât quite recognise but based on their green scarfs must be Timothy and Joey, which would be two out of the four very few Slytherins in this world he accepted were good, the others being his best friendsâ brother and the one and only Dorcas Meadows
âFound herâ he points with joy âThere she is, ainât our little fawn beautifulâ he shines, causing all their eyes to fall on you as you all worm your way to the front of your own stand
âItâs funny seeing them in red and goldâ Remus notes, an amused look as he observes yours, Cedric, and Jessâs Gryffindor scarves, most likely stolen from your brother and his friendsâŚor perhaps secretly gifted from one particular Weasley
Lily nods, but her head tilts to the side as your head taps the taller of the other boy's shoulders âThey seem close, which one is he again, Tim or Joe?â she ponders trying to remember
âTim, she said he was tall in the lettersâ James confirms âThey arenât togetherâ he says with confidence
âAnd how would you know that Captain Oblivious?â Remusâ laughs, eyeing his friend but then his gaze drifts to peak at his husband, who's been unusually quiet, realising heâs still very much struggling to see you
Remus slowly collects the glasses from his bag again and holds them up in offering
âDammitâ Sirius sighs accepting the truth and putting them on, looking grumpy until his eyes widen, like heâs seeing a brand-new world
âBetter love?â Remus teases while pointing you out again
âShut up mooâŚaww there she is, beautiful as everâ he adjusts them smiling âWaitâŚwhoaâ he looks at James doing a double take as everything is now in high definition âYouâve aged so wellâ he notes
Jamesâ smirks âWhy thank you, I steal Lilyâs muggles productsâ he admits unapologetically, not that itâs much of a surprise to the girl next to him who just rolls her eyes, accepting the fact she now buys two of every product just for him
âItâs the one with lighter hair, not Cedric, the taller oneâ Remus points out to Sirius
âOhâŚâ Sirius eyes the boy, judging â...nahâ
âWhat do you mean nah?â everyone jumps a little at first turning around to see Marlene, Dorcas and the cutest little lion there had ever been joining them âHoly shi⌠sugar those specks are somethingâ Marlene laughs, catching herself before glancing at her wife, mouthing an apology while their daughter looks up at them confused
âSuuâgarâ the little cub repeats before pointing at Sirius âSpecky!â she says excitedly âUnkie Jams tâwinâ she claps, pointing between James and Sirius before jumping and clapping again all happy with herself
Siriusâ quickly pulls the glasses off, cheeks heating while the others struggle to hold in their gigglesÂ
âI donât need themâ he looks straight at Marlene, trying his best to be convincing
She just gives him a âreallyâ look in return before smiling softlyÂ
Sirius half chuckles, half sighs as he admits defeat, flashing the women a genuine smile âItâs good to see you Marls, you too Dorca darlinâ he then looks down at little Lacy âHello little cubâ he coosÂ
âRwah!â Lacy holds up her hands in a claw motion, doing her best lion impressionÂ
It was well known the Marauders had one brain cell between them, but when that cell fired it was magical, all including her mothers and godmother pretended she was the most fearsome thing theyâd ever beheld, even a couple other parents who had taken seats little ways down joined in. After some pleas and chocolate offered to calm the beast, the group settled in again, catching up as they waited for the game to start.
You rocked on your feet, eyes continually flicking to the players entrance in anticipation
âYou good sunshine?â you feel a soft pat to the top of your head, looking up youâre greeted with Timothy's soft smile, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly as he checked in, worried the ruckus and busyness of the stand was a bit overwhelming for you
You gently tap your head into his shoulder, nodding âIâm goodâŚjust excitedâ you confess with warm cheeks as your nose is flooded with the scent of your scarf again
âAhhhhâ he elongates, giving you and then the scarf a look âY/n and Freddie sitting in a treeâ he whisper sings
Your eyes widen before you attempt a scowl that looks more like a puppy pouting âShut upâ you chide, fixing the scarf a little before looking away, hoping Cedric, Jess and Joey were having a more in depth conversion but instead you find them grinning âSugarâ you press your lips into a downturned smile
They all looked at each other before singing in unisonÂ
âKâŚiâŚsâŚsâŚiâŚnâŚg!âÂ
Despite your cheeks positively flaming around the second âsâ, you can help but break into a smile. Your friends knew about your little crush on the Weasley boy from afar. Despite your brotherâs closeness with the family you didnât have such ties, you adored Ginny on the few occasions she had visited, along with Ron and Hermione, but as for the rest of the clan your paths rarely crossed. You were meant to spend the summer with them as your families decided to holiday together, but when Cedric won the Triwizard tournament that changed, and instead, he took you and your friends traveling with the prize moneyÂ
Yours paths finally crossed at the beginning of the school year, when Sprout created a seating pattern allowing everyone to get familiar with their randomised Herbology partner before the end of year assignment. You were nervous at first, as you were sure the professor was when she pulled out your names. Putting the quietest person in Hogwarts with the loudest person seemed like it would either be the worst pairing she had ever seen or the most geniusÂ
To her good fortuneâŚand ego, it was the latter. It was surprising to see the king of mischief actually try with his assignments, but most chalked it up to the fact that while you were quiet, you were well-loved by your year, you held no prejudices, helped people with their assignments when the asked you, and was just in general sweet to everyone, to the point even the meanest Slytherins were a little soft on you. Therefore, most assumed Fred couldnât bear to let you down either, and while that was true at first, a second reason soon bloomed for the boy
It bloomed for you as well, you slowly opened up to him each class, topics drifting to something deeper, and by the time Christmas rolled around you both were close friends. So close in fact you began inviting him to your friendâs secret hideaway by black lake, at first to study, but then to hang out both with and without your other friends. It was funny at first, with Cedric and Jess being rivals in quidditch and Timothy and Joey's Slytherin status, but Fred warmed to them, gaining their trust and, not that they told either of you, their blessingÂ
âI hate you allâ you pout, falling into Cedricâs side hug as you shake your head
âNahâ Timothy joins from the other side
âYou love usâ Jess chimes in, beaming at you
âNot as much as she loves him thoughâ Joey adds cheekily, nodding towards the pitch, it seems none of you had noticed the crowds stir for the players appearances during your teasing session
Cedric and Timothy quickly retract their grasp, smiling at one another as you lunge adorably forward to see. Your friends soon join you, all cheering, while you find Fred in the small mass of people, admiring him as he laughs with the others. After a few moments, the team is finished talking, beginning to take flight and get into position. Once there, you watch as Fredâs eyes begin to scan the crowd, heart thumping as his gaze slowly draws closer, skipping a beat when they fall on you, and damn near stopping as he doubles back, face liftingÂ
You see, a few weeks ago you had met Fred to check over your final herbology assignment, which meant a late-night picnic waiting to see if your flower would bloom under the full moon. While chatting, the topic of today's game came up. Of course, now that Hufflepuff were out for the count, he teased you with who you would be supporting, his teasing backfired however when, without missing a beat, said you would be supporting whatever team he was playing in.Â
After his slight fluster, which, to this day is one of your proudest achievements, conversation returned to normal, you figured heâs forgotten about it until a first year found you this morning holding a small bundle of Gryffindor scarves, one of which had a red ribbon around it with a note for you
You bring your hands up, hugging the scarf as your eyes meet, causing the biggest smile to take over his face. It was times like this you truly believed your crush was requited, and little did you know a certain redhead was thinking the same thing
âBe brave and go for itâ Cedric whispers some encouragementÂ
Heâs right, you think, Now or never
As you mouth him âGood luckâ, you add a little extra to it, blowing him a kiss
His eyes widen in a pleasant shock, melting into a mix of joy and pride as he pretends to catch it, winking at you before kissing his balled up fist before returning his gaze to the field just before the starting whistle blows
âWay to go galâ Jess cheers, reaching over to give your arm a soft squeeze
âAww the grew up so fast donât theyâ Timothy wipes an imaginary tear from his eye while Cedric and Jess both match his energy, taking out handkerchiefs and pretending to be forlorn mothers, with Joey doing the same but with an imaginary tissue
You giggle at them, and while you would usually try to come up with some sort of witty answer, you instead break into a smile âHe likes meâ you say simply, swaying side to side
âIf he didnât, heâd be an idiot loveâ Cedric gives you a side hug while the rest of your friendsâ smile, happy for you âNow letâs what your man kick snake buttâ
âHey-â Joey and Tim begin to object together but then shrugÂ
âOh, who are we kiddinâ Timothy laughs, taking off his green scarf and pulling out a red and gold one as does Joey âPuseyâs an arsehole and I want a chance to be a bridesman at your wedding somedayâ
âBridesman?â you giggle, heartwarming at the idea of you and Fred getting married someday
âYip, Ceds already called man of honourâÂ
The match was a whirlwind of emotion, the kind of game that left everyone on the edge of their seats. Gryffindor and Slytherin were neck and neck at every turn, every goal answered by another, and it was clear to everyone that this match would come down who would catch the snitch first
âHoly shit, this is intense!â James exclaims, practically bouncing in his seat âMerlin, how the hell did you guys watch me and Marls do this back in the day?â
âJamieâŚlanguage!â Lily scolds with a giggle, lips quirking up in amusement as she gives Dorcas a please forgive us look
âOh, donât worry, Lacey canât hear a thing thanks to theseâ Dorcas it waves off, gesturing to Laceyâs adorable, enchanted earmuffs âWatch thisâ she says leaning over the little girl perched on her lap âYou want some ice cream, bubs? What about a unicorn?âÂ
Lacey doesnât react at all, instead she stays focused on mimicking her other mothersâ gestures and waves towards the pitch
âThose areâŚâ Lily starts but is promptly cut offÂ
âWhat the hell was that!â Marlene huffs, throwing up her hands as the crowds roar once more, a mix of cheers and groans as the Slytherins risky manoeuvre pays off leading to another goal âFucking Pusey again!â
âDid you get the earmuffs for the crowd or for Marls?â Remus whispers to Dorcas, who struggles to hold back a smile
âOi! Gingers! Stay in formation! Godric, what are you doing?!â Marlene shouts again, shaking her head as Fred and George narrowly avoid colliding whilst going for the same bludger
âNo commentâ Dorcas replies with a grin before planting a kiss on Laceyâs cheek
The match grows increasingly heated after Harry lets the snitch slip through his grasp, igniting a fire under Slytherins asses causing their play to get even more aggressive
âThis game is insane!â Cedric grips the railing so tightly his knuckles turn white
âCome on, Freddie!â you yell, unable to stop yourself as he whizzes by
You watch him turn ever so slightly, catching your voice over the roar before he dives back into the action, pulling off a spectacular move that has more than one person flushing
âOfftâŚyour manâs a beastâ Timothy mutters as Fred swoops in to deflect a bludger, shirt riding up a little as he does âWhat? I can admireâ his cheeks tint as he sees all of your raised eyebrows
âDonât worryâ you say with a laugh, âHeâll never admit it, but he has a little guy crush on you tooâ
âReally?âÂ
âReallyâ you confirm, gigglingÂ
âDid you see that?!â Sirius exclaims, pointing towards Fred after he executes a spectacular mid-air spin to block the Bludger aimed at Angelina âCanât deny the boys got style!â
âSure doesâ James agrees but then his expression sinks to a smug one as he adjusts his glasses âAlmost as cool as some of the moves we pulled off ay Marls?â he tries to get her attention but is gifted a passive âuh huhâ instead
âOh, pleaseâ Remus argues, chuckling âAre we forgetting in our final year when you tried to do a spin like that and your glasses came flying clean off?â
âWhat?!â Lily, Sirius, and Dorcas all turned to him in unison
âMoony!â James protests before his face slowly sinks as if awaiting his impending doom
âWaitâŚâ Marlene turns slowly, looking menacingly down at James âYouâre telling me. I almost lost my final match as captain because of your speckyless ass?â
James hesitates, his ears turning near crimson as he sheepishly scratches the back of his neck ââŚno commentâ
With one final push, the final whistle blows, and the crowd erupts into cheers. You and your friends join in, your eyes look over towards Fred, whoâs the first to get to Harry, pulling him into the biggest bear hug. The sight makes your heart warm, but your admiration is cut short as your friends practically pick you up, ushering you to moveÂ
âWhatâs happeningâ you ask confused
âCome on, we gotta get down their sunshineâ Timothy insists, shooing you along with Cedric, Jess and Joey âYouâve got a ginger to congratulateâ
Over on the other stands your family celebrates. Everyoneâs on their feet, except Lacey who is now glued to Marleneâs hip as they cheerÂ
âYesssss!â James roars, pulling Lily into a celebratory hugâŚand subsequent snogÂ
âThatâs my godson!â Sirius bellows, fist pumping the air before looking to hug James then realises âOhâŚwell if thatâs what weâre doing, come here moons!â he hithers towards Remus, arms outstretchedÂ
Remus laughs softly before indulging his husband, pulling him in for a kiss before dramatically dipping him
Meanwhile Marlene and little Lacey remain oblivious to the romance in the air, as she was too busy yelling so hard her voice will be lost come tomorrow âTHATâS MY LIONS!â
Dorcas just chuckles at the scene, pulling out Lilys camera and snapping a shot of them all (A/n: art of this bit in the future?)
As their celebrations calm down, they notice the teams beginning to land and everyone else begin to make their way down to join them
âThis takes me backâ Remus lets out a small laugh watching the red and gold scarfs fly around
Nostalgia fills the air as the others join him, gazing down
âManâŚthat used to be usâ James remarks, letting out a breathy laugh before glancing over at Marlene
She nods, a happy yet bittersweet smile on her face âYeahâŚgood timesâ she reminisces before looking down at Lacey âTimes are still pretty goodâŚmaybe betterâ she confesses watching her little cub cheerÂ
Dorcas joins her side, arm wrapping around both Marlene and Lacy as their foreheads meet
âI think we should give them their momentâ Lily suggests âWe have time to embarrass them laterâ she giggles
The group hums in agreement. As their stand empties, they begin pointing out things only they are privy to from their vantage point. Like Nevilles and Lunas intertwined hands as they weave through the crowd with Ginny, Lee sprinting to hug George, the Slytherin team sulks, or even Snape begrudgingly handing a couple of gallons to McGonagall. None of them, however, have managed to spot you or your friends yet.Â
âI hope y/ns alright in the crowdsâ James says softly next to Lily
âAs long as sheâs with her friends I have no doubt shell be alrightâ she hums, giving your fathers arm a squeezeÂ
âOh, there she isâŚâ Sirius points you out before chuckling to himself ââŚmaybe being your twin ainât so badâ he jokes, wiggling his glassesÂ
James laughs, wrapping an arm around Sirius as everyone turns their attention back towards youÂ
Down on the pitch, itâs a flurry of red and gold, so you hold back at the edge where it was quieter, encouraging your friends to head into the chaos and enjoy it. Jess, Joey and Timothy promise to be right back, while Cedric spots Cho in the crowd little ways from yourself and joins her, being careful not to drift too far from you
You beam as you take a couple of steps back, watching Harry get lifted up by Ron and Neville. Much like your parents and family above, you want Harry and Fred to have their moment in the spotlight. There would be more than enough time to talk to them after
Unbeknownst to you, one of that duo was already looking for you. Fredâs eyes scan the chaos for your figure, but finds a familiar blonde in the crowd first, and he smiles watching him kiss Choâs cheek. Cedric feels the eyes on them, looking up and noticing Fredâs searching expression. He smiles, giving a knowing nod towards you, as does Cho whoâs clearly been filled in on the situation.Â
Fredâs eyes follow the direction and there you are, standing apart from the rest, your gaze locked on Harry. Taking a deep breath, he hypes himself up, realising in that moment you arenât just wearing his scarf, but the jumper he gave you to keep warm a few weeks ago as well. That along with the kiss you blew him earlier, are all the signs he needed to finally make a move
âOi, Freddieâ George calls as he moves away from the rest of the team âWhere ya going?â George tries again but to no avail, Fredâs already gone, pushing through the crowd, using his broom to help manage the masses
As he breaks free, you do a double take, and he finds himself smiling as your confused expression melts into hope and joy
âYouâre supposed to be over thereâ you tell him, taking a few steps forward as he closes the gap
âBut youâre over hereâ he replies simply before leaning closer, eyes searching yours for permissionÂ
You bite your lip, giving him a nod, to which his own smile grows and his broom is abandoned as his larger hands come up to cradle your cheeks guiding them up towards his lips as they crash into your own. You clutch the front of his sweater, pulling him closer but Fred being the showman he is had other ideas. His hands drop down, snaking around your hips before he dips you back. You squeal at first, then laugh softly with him before your lips reconnect. After that the rest of the world fades away. The cheers and buzz around you becoming a distant hum, neither of you reacting to your friendsâ cheers nor the flash of Jessâ cameraÂ
Your friends arenât the only spectators of courseâŚ
âWaitâŚâ Marlene points towards you and Fred ââŚis he about toâŚoh!â her mouth drops open, gently covering Laceyâs eyes while Dorcas smiles in a happy shock beside herÂ
Remus, Sirius, Lily are next to react, eyes widening, before breaking into smiles. Remus and Sirius take a moment longer, clearly doing the âdoes he deserve herâ math in their heads first
âThatâs my girlâ Lilys hands come up to face, overjoyed, she had an inkling you were a little love struck from your letters, she just didnât know with who until now
âHeâs alrightâ Sirius begrudgingly admits while Remus nods in agreement
Their smiles and shock soon melt into anticipation as they all slowly turn towards James, who had been a bit too quiet considering the situation. But when they see him, he isâŚbeaming?
Turns out Lily wasnât the only one with an incline, in fact, James being the girl dad he was, has known about every crush youâve ever had, your one on Fred being no different. Safe to say, he was ecstatic
âYes!â he cheers âOh the dips a nice touch, very classyâ he nods in approval before looking over at the others âWhat?â he takes in their shocked faces
âProngs?â Remus eyes him âYou realise thatâs y/n, right?â he feels the need to check
âYeahâ James shrugs before his mouth makes an âohâ shape, his reply sending them into fits of laughter âIâm supposed to be mad right now, arenât I?â

Fred fiddled with his fingers, slow, unsteady breaths leaving his lips as he tried to ease his nerves. The confidence heâd had last night was gone now that he sat at breakfast. The chatter around him was lively, fun, he could hear his twin recounting one of his favourite pranks from last year to the rest of the table, but all he could think about was you.
You and he had been friends for years now. It all started in his fifth year when he collided with you at a corner while running from your respective prankeesâŚ
Start of flashback
âUghâŚfuckâŚâ Fred groans, gritting his teeth as he felt the impact of his arse on cold stone before his eyes flick up, registering your figure across from him, whining with your eyes closed, hand to your head as he realises he just ran full pelt into you âAreâŚahhâŚare you alright?â he asks, wincing a little as he moves to his knees, kneeling before you with his hands hovering around your head, unsure whether it was appropriate to check on you
âBeen betterâ you giggle a little, hand falling from its place as you look up at him âAre you okay?â you ask, smiling shyly as you notice his wary hands before he moves themÂ
He relaxes at your smile, chuckling to himself as he hums âA bit achy but Iâm alrightâ he assures and your smile brightens, however the conversation is interrupted by two distinct yellsÂ
âWeasley!â
âLupin!â
In that moment, Fred was bamboozled, his eyes darting between Filch, angrily approaching down his corridor, and a rather pink-looking Snape coming up yours. Luckily, you werenât in such a daze. Grabbing his hand, you tugged him up.
âCome onâ you say in a hurried yet sweet tone
âYes, maâamâ he smirked, allowing you to lead him as you hopped quickly through one of the archways and across the courtyard to your escape.
End of flashback
After that, you and Fred met often. Your friendship wasnât exactly secret, but to your family and friends, it all appeared surface-level. They didnât know about the pranks you both pulled together back at Hogwarts, or how you would gush to each other about everything and anything, or how you both purposefully chose flats nearby after graduation. No, to the rest of the world, you and Fred were nothing more than acquaintances and neighbours.
âMorningâ you greet the table softly, a sleepy smile across your face as you walk over to the kitchen, automatically melting into the conjoined hug of your parents
Fred canât help but smile a little as he looks away from the scene and back to the table. Over the years, your friendship has grown into something more. There hadnât been some defining moment when his friendly sentiment matured into love, it was the gradual kind of love, slow, inevitable, until his heart only had room in it for you
âYou alright, sweetie?â Fred's head raises at Lilyâs voice across from him âYouâve been quiet this morning?â she checks in, her maternal affection warming his heart
His parents were spending the Holidays with Bill and Fleur as she was too close to her due date to travel this year, and the Potters had been more than happy to invite the rest of the Weasley clan to stay with them instead
âOh, Iâm grandâ he brushes off her concern âThink I had a bit too much firewhiskey last nightâ he jokes, earning some laughs from those around him and a small shoulder squeeze from George
George, however, knew he was lying. Heâd noticed how different his twin had been acting lately, especially this holiday. Still, he kept his distance, knowing Fred would come to him eventually, just he always did. That didnât stop him from worrying all the same
âYou sure?â he whispers, eyeing his twin
âYeah, Iâll be okay, promiseâ Fred assures, gifting a fond smileÂ
Conversation flows again once more as Sirius and Remus join the table, recounting the previous evenings events and filling those who tapped out early on the later escapades. You sit down a few moments later, carefully carrying your mug of hot chocolate, being cautious not to lose any of your marshmallows along the way
âMerlin y/nâŚâ George chuckles as you take a seat across from him â...you want some hot chocolate with those mallows?âÂ
You smile quietly at the teasing, though Fredâs sure if he was any closer, he would be able to feel the heat from your cheeks
âLeave her aloneâ Ginny jumps to your defence, gently elbowing her brother âYouâre just jealous you donât have oneâ she teases him back before shooting a wink in your direction
You giggle at that, as does Fred, looking at you fondly as the table settles back into quiet conversation. It doesnât take long for your eyes to meet his, sleep still clinging to them as you mouth a small âhiâ. He returns the greeting, and your soft eyes linger on his for a few moments before your smile deepens, and you turn away beginning to fill your plate with the mornings feast
Fred was sure you felt the same way as he did. Nothing was ever said aloud, but there were clear signs, from the soft grazing of hands to stolen glances at lips, even moments like the one just now, littered with quiet confessions and longing. But today was the day that was all going to change. Today was the day he would ask you to be his, but first he had to overcome one major obstacleâŚyour parents.
They were the overprotective type, to the point every boy in this room, plus Ginny, had been given the talkfrom them at one point or another, practically forbidding them from ever dating you. Fred got the talk during his final year at Hogwarts when you and he were paired together in Herbology. Word had gotten back that you and he had been spending time together in the library. Of course, after he explained you two were merely working on your project, they lightened up, but he never forgot how relieved they were, nor how his talk seemed far more intense upon hearing others recount their own
âAlrightâ Sirius announces as he stands up, Remus following âAnyone need anything else from the shops? Last orders before the shops shutâ he claps his hands lightlyÂ
âWe need some more rum for the puddingâ James asks, earning a hum of acknowledgement from Sirius, while Remus shares a knowing look with Lily who had, in fact, helped him in polishing off the last of the rum the night before
âDad, could we get some big marshmallows to make sâmores?â you speak up âWith the good chocolate?â you add shyly, flashing those adorable eyes of yours that they could never resist, not that they ever did
âOf course, pupâ Remus chuckles, secretly excited himself, now had an excuse to buy more chocolate for his stash without arousing Siriusâ suspicion âWell, if that's everything, weâll be offâ
Remus and Sirius gave a quick wave as they headed out of the room to grab their coats while Fred sits in thought. This was his chance, an opportunity to grab your parents aloneÂ
âWhere are you off to?â George asks as Fred stands up, drawing the attention of the entire table
Fred flashes a smile, mostly for you and George as your brows furrow in concern âIâm going to give them a hand. Could use the fresh air to wake me upâ he says, keeping up his hungover façade, everyone seems to buy it except yourself and George, however, you both let it go for now as he heads off to catch up with your fathersÂ
Fred hurried out into the cold, his coat only half on as he spotted your parents.Â
âMerlin they walk fastâ he mutters, jogging to catch up while his thoughts raceÂ
This is it. Just ask. Theyâre reasonable men. They wonât murder you on sight⌠probably
âHey! You two need a spare hand?â Fred called, finally tugging his coat into place.
The men turn around, glancing at one another before pleasant surprise crosses their facesÂ
âCourse, more the merrier. Young lad like yourself can help us carryâ Sirius shrugs happily while Remus gestures, hithering for him to join
As they all trecked through a fresh coat of snow, the conversation is light. They ask of his family, the shop, his and Georgeâs plans for expansion to Hogsmeade next summer. Fred is thankful, it gives him the chance to actually connect with them one on one, he asks about their school days, their best pranks, the map. He even learned how they came to the decision to adopt you, leading to a small ramble from Sirius about how proud he was of you on the way backâŚ
â...you know she's just like Moony when he was youngâŚâ he says, referring to your shy nature â...though she does have a cheeky side, I know this will surprise you, but sheâs a little chatterbox when she gets goingâŚâ he continues on
Fred tries his best to hide his smile. It did not surprise him, he adored your rambles, especially that little bounce you did when you were excitedÂ
Remus chuckles, gently interrupting his husband off âAs much as I love your chatter my love. Iâm curious to hear more about how you're doing?â he redirects, his voice kind but pointed âYouâve told us about the shop butâŚâ he trails off, searching for the right words
Sirius, as usual, cuts straight to the point âA little birdy may have let slip that youâre going through a bit of a dry spellâÂ
Fredâs eyes widen, cheeks reddening as heâs taken aback âUghâŚwellâŚummâ he strugges, unable to find words, which only made the couple in front of him chuckle
âIâm sorry Fred, my husband lacks a degree of subtletyâŚâ Remus says, shooting Sirius a look but said man is seemingly unbothered, likely stuck on the word husband and the love sick glow it gave him âWhat we mean is weâve noticed ourselves youâve been a little off since you got here, like your mind is elsewhereâ Remus continues âAnd, well, we may have been talking to George last night. I asked him how things were going with Lee; he mentioned that youâd stopped going out much. He seemed quite worried about youâ
Fred lets out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck âItâs true. Iâve stopped going out as much as I used toâ he agrees, though he did not expect this to be the direction this conversation was going
âGrowing out of it?â Siriusâ asks, head tiltin with an understanding smile âHappened to me once upon a timeâÂ
âYouâre half rightâ Fred admits with a small nod âI have grown a lot since Hogwarts butâŚthere also a reason why nothing ever worked out for the long runâ his voice steadies, realising the conversation was leading in the direction he needed it to, his thoughts becoming clearer
This is it. Just say it
âIs there someone special?â Remus asks softly, and Siriusâ expression shifts from mild curiosity to sudden realisation, Fred Weasley, major flirt and prankster extraordinaire has fallen in love
Fredâs eyes flick between the two men, inhaling deeplt before speaking, his voice filled with conviction âWellâŚthat's actually why I offered to help today. Iâm in love with your daughterâÂ
Silence
Fred watches their eyes widen in surprise before their expressions become unreadable. The weight of his confession lingered in the chilly air and he braces himself. They clearly hadnât been expecting that, and there was still a very real chance he was about to decked at the side of the roadÂ
âYouâŚâ Sirius blinks a few times, shaking his head slightly âYouâŚlove her? Not just some passing infatuation orâŚforbidden fruit nonsense?â he poses holding himself back, his tone wasnât cruel but the question stung nonetheless
Fred stands his ground, his voice firm yet sincere âI do. Very much. I know I havenât always been the most shining example, butâŚloving her is the easiest thing Iâve ever done. Sheâs my best friend. I feel safe around her, seen, listened toâŚeven adopted her ramblingâ his voice softens, getting a little embarrassed at his gush âSheâs my favourite personâŚdonât tell Georgieâ he adds at the end with a nervous laugh
Remusâ expression remains stoic, but Siriusâ soften slightly at Freds sincerityÂ
âAre you begging for forgivenessâŚâ Remus finally asks ââŚor are you asking for our permissionâ
Fredâs lips quirk into a small smile âPermissionâ he confirms without hesitation
Remus and Sirius stare at him for a moment, then glance at one another, something unspoken passing between them
âDo we mess with him?â Sirius whispers to Remus, his hand covering his mouth as he lets a cheeky grin slip through
âAs fun as that would be, I think heâs waited long enoughâ Remus replies softly â...and so has our pupâÂ
After a few more moments to let Fred think they were really debating the issue Remus turns back towards him and nods âYesâ he says simply
Fred blinks âSeriously?âÂ
Sirius rolls his eyes playfully âYes, seriously. But if you hurt herâŚâ his tone turns deadly sirius âWe will kill youâ he warns
Fred smiles wide, relief and joy washing over him âUnderstoodâ he nods, but his excitement can no longer be contained âThank you!â he lunges forward pulling them both into a tight hug, practically lifting them off the ground
Sirius chuckles âAlrightâŚalright! Put s down before we change our mindsâ
Fred awkwardly sets them down, cheeks red but still wears a huge smile, one that wont be getting wiped off anytime soon. The three resume their walk back to the Potters, but on the way back Sirius glances over his shoulder at Fred
âSo, when are ya planning on telling her? Tonight?â
Fred freezes mid step
Remus stops too, a knowing laugh escaping him âYou have no idea, do you?â
âHonestly?â Fred admits, a sheepish grin spreading across his face âI didnât think Iâd get this farâ

Y/N stepped into Weasleysâ Wizard Wheezes, the familiar bell tinkling overhead. The walls were lined with rows of joke itemsSkiving Snackboxes, Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, extendable earsand somewhere in the back, the soft hum of the twinsâ latest invention pulsed like a heartbeat.
âMorning, love!â called one of them, sweeping forward with an armful of fireworks that sizzled in his hand.
Y/N smiled. âGood morning, George,â she said, leaning in for a quick kiss on his cheek.
George blinked. âUh⌠morning,â he replied, voice oddly high-pitched. âWhat can I do for you today?â
Y/N frowned. George sounded an awful lot like Fred. She suppressed a grin: it must be his first swap of the day. âI need four dozen Fanged Flyer fireworkscheap dragonâs-breath varietyand a box of Extendable Ear Wax. Mum says Iâm missing a little extra⌠wax.â
âComing right up!â âGeorgeâreally Fredturned and disappeared through the back door.
Y/N glanced at the real George, who was leaning against the counter, arms crossed. He wore the same mischievous grin she always recognized. âYouâre the first one to show up, Georgie,â she teased.
He shrugged. âQuality control.â He winked, then turned toward Fredstill out of sightand shouted, âMaybe you shouldâve said hi instead of running off like a panting Niffler!â
Footsteps. The actual Fred appeared, still clutching the fireworks. âGood morning, sweetheart,â he said in his own lower-toned voice, handing her the items. âFour dozen and wax. All yours.â
Y/N smiled and surveyed both twins. âThanks, Fred. And thanks, George.â
George tipped an imaginary hat. âHappy to serve.â
Fred rolled his eyes. âHonestly, youâre practically dating a two-for-one deal.â
âBecause Iâm special,â Y/N winked, taking her purchases. âSee you tonight for dinner?â
Fred blinked. âDinner⌠yes. Tonight.â
George shook his head. âNo, tonightâs my shift cover. Iâll see you tomorrow.â
Y/N smiled at them both. âOf course.â She turned to leave, then paused and looked back. âBy the way: nice face-switching this morning, but Iâm still not confused.â She winked again and vanished out the door.
Behind the counter, Fred and George exchanged triumphant grins.
That evening, Y/N arrived at The Leaky Cauldron. A corner table was reserved, and beside it stood one of the twinsthough which one, she wasnât saying yet. He waved her over.
âEvening, love,â he said, voice smooth as velvet. He offered her his arm and led her in.
Y/N raised an eyebrow. He said âFredâ words. But the hand felt like Georgeâs cooler, more slender grip.
âGeorge?â she asked.
He laughed. âNope. George is... otherwise engaged.â He winked. âFred.â
She smiled and slid into the booth. âAll right, Fred, whatâs new in joke-land?â
He laughed. âSame old, same old. Iâve been working on a new Sneezing Powder.â
âYeah? If itâs anything like the last oneâ
âWhich turned explodingly toxic?â
âExactly.â
Fred rolled his eyes. âNo, this oneâs harmless. Just makes you sneeze gold sparkles.â
She snorted. âYou do know dragons sneeze actual fire, right?â
Fred flopped back against the booth. âFine, maybe fire-sparkles. Either way, itâs fabulous.â
They chatted, sipping butterbeers and trading stories. Later, Y/N excused herself to go to the loo.
When she returned, a figure was at the booth. It was the other twin, who patted the seat beside him.
âHey, love,â he said, his voice bouncy.
Y/N slid in. âGeorge?â
He grinned. âFredâs called a last-minute meetingurgent fireworks business. So Iâm filling in.â
Y/N laughed. âWell, I swear you two are in cahoots.â
âOnly on days ending in ây.ââ He stretched, almost knocking over her butterbeer. âWant another?â
âPlease.â She watched him speak, all lanky limbs and playful smirk. The voice was higher, the tone more teasingclassic Georgie.
âMore butterbeer for the lady,â he said, sliding toward the bar as a barkeep appeared.
When he returned, Y/N set the drink down. âYou know,â she said, leaning forward, âIâm flattered you both want to be me date.â
Georgereally Fredblinked. âYou know⌠date, right? You andâ
âMe and one of you,â Y/N finished, folding her arms. âBut hereâs the thing: I know which one.â
Both twins froze.
âCare to explain?â Fred asked, voice clipped.
Y/N smiled. âThree clues.â
They exchanged looks.
âClue one,â she continued. âToday, at the shop, when I asked for wax, someone said âComing right up!â in that lower, gravelly voiceand the quote marks around coming were⌠dramatic. Fred, you do drama. George is more⌠chill.â
Fredâs jaw twitched. George smirked.
âClue two: at dinner, when you said George had a meeting, it was in that bouncy, joking way you do when youâre utterly baffled by sudden adult responsibilitiesGeorge always underplays important things, and Fred overplays them.â
Both looked guilty.
âClue three: when I was in the loo, the âGeorgeâ who got my butterbeer was too⌠careful. George is clumsy. He wouldâve knocked it over onto my lap.â
George paled. Fred raised an eyebrow.
Y/N picked up her glass and took a sip. âAnd besides, the pull of your voiceFred, itâs like gravity. I could listen to you read shopping lists for the rest of my life.â
Fred chuckled. George pouted adorably.
Fred reached across the table and took Y/Nâs hand. âWell,â he said, voice soft, âif youâre not a fan of impromptu twin swaps⌠how about we make tonight exclusively Fredâs?â
Y/N grinned. âIâd like that.â
George leaned forward. âBut Iâd really like tomorrow⌠mind if I crash dinner next time?â
Fred shook his head. âOnly if you want group dates like a proper Weasley.â
Y/N looked from Fred to George. âYou guys⌠are hopeless.â
Fred winked. âHopelessly devoted.â
George saluted. âTo you.â
Y/N laughed, squeezing Fredâs hand. âFine. But just tonight, Fred. Tomorrow, Georgie, youâre on your own.â
George mock-saluted again. âYes, maâam.â
Later, outside the pub, Fred walked her home under a starry sky. Y/N nestled into his side.
âYou were right,â Fred said softly. âNo swapping after dinner.â
She looked up at him. âI know exactly who I love, Fred Weasley.â
He smiled and pulled her close. âAnd I know exactly who I am.â He pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. âGoodnight, Y/N.â
âGoodnight,â she whispered.
George waved from across the street, balancing a trolley of fireworks. He shouted, âCall me if you want a midnight prank partner!â
Y/N laughed. âMaybe tomorrow night, Georgie!â
Fred sighed. âHonestly, George⌠pick another customer.â
Y/N snuggled closer. âNot happening,â she murmuredthen added with a grin, âbut thanks for the offer.â
And as they walked off into the warm glow of Diagon Alley lamps, Fred held her hand a little tighter, while somewhere behind them, George plotted his next comical interventioncontent that for once, at least one Weasley heart was firmly decided.
Harry Potter Masterlist | request (send requests, I will gladly answer them all)
Fred and y/n had been together since that very first year at Hogwarts and every day at Weasley Wizard Wheezes reminded everyone that love and laughter were the true magic in life. The shop was bustling with customers excited by the latest prank items when Fred, his eyes bright with mischief, leaned toward y/n with a playful smile. "My love, you see the sparkle in every invention we make today? It is the same sparkle I noticed when I first saw you in the Great Hall all those years ago."
Y/n's laugh was warm and genuine. "And I remember how you made everyone around you burst into smiles with your endless ideas. You promised me a lifetime of mischief and moments that made every day feel like a new adventure." Their words were soft but filled with the energy of shared memories and dreams, spoken as easily as if they were reciting an old song together.
In a quiet corner of the shop, George arranged a new batch of joke items on the shelves while listening to their banter with fond amusement. Moments later, Ron and Ginny strolled in, their expressions a mixture of curiosity and affection. Ron glanced at Ginny and then approached George at the counter. "George, I have been wondering for ages," he began, his tone light and teasing, "how in the world did Fred and y/n manage to stay so deeply in love from very first year until now?"
Ginny nodded, adding, "We hear stories about those early days all the time and now here they are married and still creating magic together. There is something special about them that we all admire."
George gave a slow, knowing smile as he motioned for them to come closer. "It is quite the tale," he said, his voice low and rich with nostalgia. "Let us sit for a moment and I will share with you everything. It all began on a crisp autumn day in our first term when the castle seemed full of secrets and promises. Fred had already earned a reputation for his endless pranks and quick wit. That day, while most of the castle was busy with classes and chatter, fate arranged for Fred and y/n to meet in the common room after a long evening of laughter and stories."
Ron's eyes widened with interest. "You mean it was love at first laugh?"
George chuckled softly. "In a way, yes. Fred's charm was undeniable. He sauntered over to where y/n was quietly reading a book on magical inventions, and without any hesitation he said, 'I believe that a life without laughter is a life half-lived. Would you care to join me in making sure our days are full of wonder?' And y/n, with a glimmer of amusement and curiosity, replied, 'I have always believed that every great adventure begins with a spark of laughter. Let us see what mischief we can create together.' In that very moment, a bond was forged that would withstand the test of time."
Ginny leaned forward. "But how did that bond grow so strong, George? We know that sometimes the simplest beginnings hide the deepest connections."
George's eyes twinkled. "It was not just about shared jokes or pranks. It was about trust and the freedom to be completely oneself. Fred was always there to lift y/n up when classes became too burdensome and y/n was there to remind Fred that there was beauty in every carefully crafted prank. I recall one rainy afternoon when Fred was sulking over a failed scheme that had ended with a soaked suit and a ruined plan. You all thought he would retreat into his humor, but y/n sat by him in that cold, damp corridor and said, 'I adore your wild ideas, even if they sometimes fail. What matters is that we dare to dream together.' And Fred, with those eyes full of gratitude and love, replied, 'I could not have imagined a better partner to turn failures into laughter and misfortune into a fond memory.'"
Ron shook his head in wonder. "It is incredible to think that all these years, while we kept our feelings hidden behind our own secret crushes on Hermione and Harry, you two had a love that never wavered."
Ginny added softly, "We always wondered how you managed to keep your connection so pure and strong, even with all the chaos of Hogwarts around you."
Fred, overhearing the conversation from behind the counter, walked over with y/n close by. "Now that you mention it," Fred said with a grin, "I must say that our secret is not magic at all. It is simply the result of choosing to laugh together every single day."
Y/n reached up to gently squeeze Fred's hand. "Indeed, it is the everyday moments â the late-night planning of pranks, the whispered jokes during long library sessions, and the comfort of knowing that no matter how wild the world around us gets, we will always have each other. Do you remember when we nearly turned Professor Flitwick's hair rainbow for a week?"
Fred laughed heartily. "I remember every detail. I recall your face when the colors danced in the breeze, and your laughter lit up the room like a thousand spells. That day, I learned that our love was built not on grand gestures but on shared delight in the simplest joys."
George continued, his voice soft as he recalled the early days. "There were many moments when you both could have given up on all the risks, but instead you doubled down on your mischief and on each other. When others were afraid to break the rules, you broke them together, always finding the humor in every challenge. Your love was not dictated by the expectations of others; it was born from daring to be yourselves."
Ron exchanged a look with Ginny. "I suppose that is what we have been trying to do too â hold onto something genuine even when our hearts are filled with secret desires for others. It must take immense courage to be so open with each other."
Fred's eyes softened as he addressed Ron and Ginny directly. "Every day is a choice. I choose you, y/n, not just because of the laughter we share but because of the trust and the dreams we build together. It is not always easy, but the joy of living fully together, of creating our own brand of magic, makes it all worthwhile."
Y/n smiled and added, "In our first year we promised ourselves that we would never let fear dictate our actions. Even when the world seemed too dangerous or too complicated, we found solace in each other's arms and in the laughter we inspired. That promise has carried us through every challenge, every prank that went awry, and every moment when we needed to be brave together."
Ginny clapped her hands softly, her eyes shining. "That is beautiful. It is as if every joke and every shared smile is a thread that binds your hearts together more tightly. You two remind me that love does not always have to be dramatic. Sometimes it is quiet and simple and full of everyday wonders."
Ron grinned, adding, "I can see that we have much to learn. Our own feelings for Hermione and Harry remain unspoken because we worry about ruining the magic. Yet, watching you both, I realize that being honest with our hearts might just be the key to our own happiness."
Fred winked at y/n. "I say we celebrate every little moment that brought us here. Whether it was a mischievous note passed in class or a secret rendezvous in the corridors, each moment was a promise of more laughter, more love, and more unforgettable memories."
Y/n's eyes met Fred's with a tender warmth. "Every day with you feels like a grand adventure. I cherish the ordinary as much as the extraordinary because every second is spent with the person who makes my heart soar. I recall how you would hide little surprises in my cauldron during potion class. I would find them later and think, 'This is why I fell for him.' Your surprises were not just about pranks; they were daily reminders that I was seen and cherished."
George listened with a satisfied smile as Ron and Ginny absorbed every word. "You see, my dear siblings, love grows from shared laughter and the willingness to embrace the chaos of life together. Fred and y/n were always true to themselves and to each other. Their journey was filled with obstacles and mischievous challenges, yet they always found a way to come back to one another, stronger and more united."
Ron nodded thoughtfully. "It makes me wonder what small acts of bravery we can share with those we care about. Perhaps it is time to let our feelings be known, even if it means stepping into uncharted territory."
Ginny's voice was gentle as she said, "I think we can learn so much from Fred and y/n. Their love is a beacon that reminds us to be fearless in our own ways. I want to believe that if we dare to laugh together, to support each other, and to be honest with our hearts, we too might experience that kind of magic."
Fred, feeling the gentle warmth of shared understanding, stepped closer to y/n. "My dear, as George has so fondly recounted, every smile we shared and every moment we built together has made this love indestructible. I cherish you beyond words. Every prank, every shared secret, and every burst of laughter is a memory I hold dear."
Y/n rested their hand on Fred's. "I feel the same way, always. We are partners in every sense of the word. I am grateful for every twist and turn that led us here. Our love has been a constant source of light even in the darkest of times. And as long as we continue to see the beauty in every shared moment, I know our laughter will never fade."
George concluded his story with a soft laugh. "So you see, it is not one grand event that holds their love together but rather the countless little moments, the constant dialogue of affection and humor that has carried them through the years. Fred and y/n remind us that love is a choice made every day, a commitment to find joy in each other even when the world seems chaotic."
Ron and Ginny sat in thoughtful silence for a moment before Ginny broke the quiet. "Thank you, George, for sharing this. I will treasure these words and hope that one day our own hearts will be as brave and joyful."
Ron smiled. "Indeed, I have learned that even when we hold our secret affections close, we can still be inspired by the genuine, honest love you two have nurtured. It is a lesson in being true to who we are."
Fred and y/n exchanged a look of quiet understanding as they rejoined the conversation. Fred said, "Let our life together be proof that love built on laughter and mutual trust is a love that endures. I will continue to wake up every day excited to share my life with you, knowing that every smile, every shared dream, and every mischievous plan is a thread in the tapestry of our journey."
Y/n responded warmly, "And I will always stand by your side, ready to face every challenge and to celebrate every triumph. Our journey is filled with unexpected twists, but that is what makes it ours. In our eyes, each day is a new page waiting to be written with love and laughter."
In that moment, surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of Weasley Wizard Wheezes, the four young wizards and witches found inspiration in the simple yet profound truth that love is not measured by grand gestures but by the joy of everyday moments. Fred and y/n had built a life together that was as magical as any spell and as enduring as the bonds of family and friendship.
The laughter in the shop rose once again as a customer burst through the door, and Fred winked at y/n before diving into a new prank demonstration. Their dialogue mingled with the hum of conversation, a living testament to a love that had grown stronger with every passing year, a love that promised endless laughter and unwavering devotion.

âDid you knowâŚâ
Fredâs already chuckling, the sight of you trying to get on your big fluffy coat whilst tipsy was cute enough, but combine it with an excited random fact? You have his heart melting like crazy. He was used to your random trivia but never grew tired of it, he loved it in fact, especially as it hardly ever related to anything you were doing.
Like when he first met you, you had tagged along with Harry and his dad, your godfather, James, to the quidditch world cup, instead of a 'did you know this about quidditch fact' whilst you walked up the stands with him him, he got a 'did you know otters hold hands while sleeping so they donât float away from one another?'
It was safe to say he had been at your mercy ever since
"...that...one second...that s-"
âHereâŚâ he gently interrupts your fact before you can start, helping you get your hand through the sleeve â...good girlâ he pecks your forehead, adoring the the grin he receives as you cheese up at him, eyes glassy, clearly only half here but the love in your eyes shines through
After one last shout goodbye to those at the party you and Fred brave the cold, his hand finding yours before guiding into his larger pocket to keep it warm
âItâs snowingâ you note, free hand coming to wrap around his bicep, as your cheek presses into it
âIt is...almost as pretty as you my loveâ he flirts, adoring your giggle before you let out a little yip, head shooting up to look at him as you move away slightly to smile up at him âWhat?â
âI forgot to tell you the factâ you say softly and his heart warms, secretly glad you remembered
âHit meâ he flashes you a goofy grin, unable to hold it back as he wraps his arm around you and leads you down the now snow dusted path
âDid you know that Scotland's national animal is a unicorn because there was this wizard whose pet unicorn followed him into a muggle battle?â you say, a little slurred and in a higher pitched tone, the same one you always used when saying your little facts Â
Fred chuckles, pulling you a little closer into his side âSeriously?âÂ
âSiriuslyâ you start gigglingÂ
âSee this is the stuff Binns should have taught usâŚâ Fred shakes his head â...actually you know what lovely? You should try and poach his jobâ he presses a kiss to your hat clad templeÂ
âNahâ you shake your headÂ
âWhy not? You love facts, adorable at telling them, cute as a button so all the guys and gals will crush on you, be closer to your dads and uncleâ he lists with a shrug, genuinely surprised you wouldnât be interested
You stop walking, gently removing yourself from Fred's grip and taking his hands in yours instead. His eyebrows pinch but his face soon softens into a smile as he sees you shining up at himÂ
âBecause then I wouldnât see my favourite person everyday...â you answer simply, easily, almost like it should have been obvious but the next bit floors him "...and when I find out a new fact I can't tell anyone else until i've told you, I always tell you first"
He always felt it in his heart that he was going to marry you one day, but this was the moment he knew for sure...so much that in less than a weeks time you would be saying that three letter word to make it a reality
âMerlin I love you...â the words tumble out breathlessly in the same manor as yours "...so much...so...so much" he emphasises squeezing your hands
Your smile widens at that, a giggle escaping as you step forward, chests grazing âDittoâ you shine, placing a sweet kiss to his nose
He doesnât let you pull away fully, instead dips down to capture your lips, hands slipping out of yours to cup your chilled cheeks while the snow lightens around you for a moment, large flakes fluttering down slowly like you were in some movie. The cold forgotten for a moment as your warm lips dance with one another, your hands gliding up to find his chest, not caring that it made your fingertips go numb
Your lips still ghost the others as you break away, your cheeks rising with your smile in his light grip as you whisper âDid you know if you remind yourself you arenât a fish your hiccups will stop?âÂ
âYou're pulling my legâ he whispers back
âWanna bet Weasley?â you say letting your lips meet again tentatively

Fred was sprinting down the corridor. This wasnât new, in fact most would say it was weird if there wasnât at least one redhead running away from the scene of a crime at a given moment. Still, he damned his twin for managing to dip behind a tapestry before he could, but being the good brother he was, he continued runningÂ
He reached the intersection of two corridors, dipping quickly into the one leading off but as he rounded it he crashed directly into someone, sending them to the floor
âWhat theâŚâ Fred panics, worried it was a professor but his worry soon shifts to concern as he sees itâs you, whining on the floor in pain âShit, Iâm so sorryâ he kneels down, averting his eyes briefly as you fixed your flipped skirt
He knew you but not as well as he wished and therefore didnât know if you would turn him in. He figured you most likely would and he wouldn't blame you, it was your job as a prefect after all, and a ravenclaw one at that, considering how Roger treated him last time
âItâs okayâ you finally look up at him, gifting him a shy smile as he stands, holding his hands out to help you âThank youâ you accept them, letting him pull you to your feet
âSo. How many points is that?â he chuckles âGotta be more considering I almost obliterated youâ he jokes but you just look a little confused
âHuh?â you shake your head, honest to merlin forgetting youâre a prefect as you get a little lost in the elder Weasleys soft eyes and contagious smile
âYou forgetting that little blue badge love?â he raises an eyebrow, smirking as he nodded to itÂ
Your eyes follow, face hot as you realise. Your realisation more than cute to the ginger before you
âWhy were you running?â you ask, tugging your bottom lip between your teeth
Fredâs eyes are locked onto them for a moment longer than they should have been before he answers, eyes returning to your eyes âGot caught setting up a prank by Mrs Morris and now Iâm running away from her masterâ he flashes a stunning smile afterward
You let out a little smile too, but then you hear Flitchâs voice distantly down the corridor as the man must be finally catching up âYou better start running again thenâ you state shocking him
âWhat?â he looks at you confused before it sinks into an awe filled smile âYouâre letting me go?â
You nod âBetter hurry Weasleyâ you say smiling, hands moving behind your back as you lift your head proudly, rocking on your toes
âI wonât forget thisâ he winks, dipping down with the intention of kissing your cheek âThankâŚyouâ but then your face moves and your lips meet for a brief moment
He looks for your reaction, cringing that he may have ruined the moment but then he sees your just staring as his lips, tongue darting out to wet your own as your eyes lift to his. He dips down again before he can think, kissing you properly and cupping your cheek, you donât move but your body relaxes and melts into it
âWEASLEY!â Flitchâs screech is what pulls you apart
You're beyond flustered as Fred pulls back to peak around the corner âSorry lovelyâ he apologises as he turns back âGotta run but before I doâ he grins âHogsmeade this Saturday?â
You're about to say yes when you remember âFred there's no trip this weekend?â you say, and his eyes flash with something you can't decipher as you say his name
âYou trust me?â he asks and you nod right away âGoodâ he steals another kiss before jogging backwards âIâll see you outside your tower at 10â he calls, giving you a wave as he starts running off once more, leaving you in a happy shock as your fingers glazed over your lips

Your leg bobbed uncontrollably, paranoia seeping through your brain at every small noise you heard, even the wisp of the the wind had hairs standing up. This wasnât how you pictured your late teens, you expected some drama sure, maybe some minor life threatening when your original plan to run away with your boyfriend was discovered, but a war, becoming an order spy, having to shield your thoughts constantly from the darkest and most powerful wizard of your generation? YeahâŚmaybe paranoia was an understatement
Currently you were deep down a lane off diagon alley yet you could just about see the orange hue of your boyfriends shop shining down the far end. You checked yoursâŚwell actually Siriusâ pocket watch, it was 4 in the morning. Fred was likely not awake yet you hoped the light of your patronus was enough to wake him through the window.Â
There was a risk George or Lee may see it, but they wouldnât connect it to you. Deatheaters were known to be unable to cast them, only exceptions were you, Timothy and your late friend as you highly doubted a man like Snape could do it. On top of that there was no words, no message with it, because Fred would know it was you, just like he always did
âPlease comeâ you whisper, hugging yourself as the winter cold cut straight through your jumper and jacket
You probably should have worn something more, but you loved this jacket, it was cool, Sirius wherever he was now would totally approve. In fact the jacket was his, given to you from when you did run away. Yet less than a year later you would lose him and be forced by Snape and Dumbledore to return to your parents and the dark wanker himself. You would go on to convince them you were only doing as the former told you in order to gain their trust and to do that you had to make it completely believable.
Your parents were typical slytherins, yet even though you pretty much knew most slyhterins were arseholes you were proud to be one. It took a while for people to trust you.
Sirius trusted you the moment you arrived at his door, youâd later understand why as he did the same thing when he was your age. Remus followed his friend's suit and Harry trusted his godfather.Â
The Weasleys were cautious and all but Fred remained so, his trust grew quickly much like your crushes, to the point you were a couple by the time your final year began.Â
Hermione never trusted you, to the point you and your friends werenât invited to the DA, even after Fred went off on her for it. You didnât blame her, nor argued your way in, yet you felt sick that she was probably revealing now about how she was right. How everyone would say you were this monster just like Peter. How Sirius would be so disappointed in you now. How youâŚ
âHeyâÂ
You dart around, extending your wand
âJust me loveâ Fred lets out a chuckle
You let out a shaky breath, heartbeat returning to normalÂ
Lowering your wand you took a second to admire him, he looked the exact same. Same light in his eyes, same goofy smileâŚsame terrible colour schemeâŚorange and blue fred? What are you an Irn bru can?
Fred may have looked like he was joking, taking things slow and letting you come to him. Yet in reality all he wanted to do was take you in his arms and never let you go. He was constantly worried, to the point that not even George knew he was meeting with you, everyone in the world saw you as a traitor but not him.
âYou just gonna drool over my banging physique or are you gonna kiss me?â he gestures to himself
He watches you let out a small laugh at his joke and it kills him. The light in your eyes had almost faded into nothing but a mere sparkle when you looked at him. The girl that was his underground agent back in his last year of hogwarts was now in the major leagues, risking her life more than he or most of the order were, his radio and missions child's play compared to you
Snape had tried to break his heart, told you there could be no loose ends but you refused. Instead you told him everything and offered to obliviate him if he wanted after, giving him the choice. That choice made him love you all the more, he knew remembering was dangerous, but in no world he wanted to forget you, hate you, if not for himself but you as well. Â
âYou want me to come to you?â he offers and you nod, upper face scrunching like you want to cry but have no tears left to fall, the war had sucked you dry
He wraps his arms around you, nose nudging into your hair. It was greasy and tangled, swept back in a clear attempt to hide it. He didnât mind. You still smelled like you, the same thing he breathed in every night as he kept your scarf, well his old scarf that you stole, on the pillow you should be sleeping on. It was even charmed to hold your scent, and above all your place until you could return to him
âHiâ you mumble into his jacket, arms clutching onto him like heâs going to disappear
âHiâ he whispers back, holding you that little bit closer before he pulls back
Your hands still cling onto him but your head tilts up so you can see his face, leaning into his hand as it cups your cheek. His eyes flick over your face, lips parted as his thumb glides over your cheek
âWhat are you doing?â You ask softly, a little shy under his gaze
âMemorising every inch of youâŚ.just in caseâ he answers truthfully, you both knew by now it was likely one or both of you may not make it through this so you savoured every moment like it was the last
He leans in and kisses your forehead. Itâs lingering. His heart aching that this was the way it had to be. That everytime he sees you he tries to remember every feature, blemish, indentation, that little hue of colour in your eyes you can only see up close. When you leave itâll replay in his mind every night, hoping, praying to gordic himself that he wonât be replaying it for the rest of his life and heâll have a chance to see you once more
You find yourself doing the same, eyes tracing over trying to remember every detail, the slight wrinkles caused by laughter, every freckle that scattered his face, the shine of his hairâŚ
âI love youâ are the first words that escape your lips, hands trying to pull him just that little bit closer
He melts, but itâs in a soul crushing way. Your voice is beautiful, the one he heard late at night when he purposefully stayed up too late, his over tired mind finding it easier to imagine you beside him, assuring him his family and friends would make it. That you would make it. Return to him. Start a life together. Grow old together
Fredâs eyes are watery when you meet them âI love you so muchâ he says earnestly before cupping your face and leaning in to rub his nose against yours âHow long do we have?â he whispers
â10 minutesâ you give him a sad smile
âHow would you like to spend them?â he asks, trying to smile as crying together would a waste
âHold meâ
He manoeuvres backwards, sitting down on a small ledge and gently pulling you onto his lap to hold you. His arms hold you securely, heads tucked into the others necks, your arms wrapped under his arms, clutching his shoulders. The ground is crisp, his arse soon growing numb as do your knees yet neither of you care, all that matters was these few minutes. They would pass slowly and quickly, there would never be enough time, even forever would never be enough
âYou think heâll be proud of me?â
You donât have to say his name and Fred knows, pulling back to look at you, one hand moving to fiddle with your jacketÂ
âYesâ he nods firmly âAnd if he was still here he would be proud to call you his daughterâÂ
âA few more weeks and I would have beenâ you look down âI still have the papers hidden under the floorboardâ you confess
Fred presses a kiss to your hair line âYou could always change your last name to hisâ he offers and you look back up, nodding with a mournful smile
âOr become a dogâ you let out the smallest of laughs
He joins you âYouâd make an adorable dogâ he nods
âImagine the mischiefâ you laugh again, its freer and Fredâ heart swells
âWeâd be unstoppableâ he chuckles
The giggles soon die down, the cold alley quieting again as you pull a small bit of paper from your pocket. Fred watches you fiddle with it for a second, before you open it up and smile. He canât see the contents until you turn the paper around, his hand coming up to take it
âYou drew this?â he asks as his eyes trace over, instantly recognising himself
You nod, eyes growing glassy again as you talk
âYou know Joe used to give me and Tim these stupid sketching lessons back at Hogwartsâ you let out a breathy laugh âWeâd always fluck them, drawing silly things insteadâ a tear falls âWe found all his scetchbooks after heâŚâ you canât say it âMe and Tim decided to continue filling the two he had bought for us but never had the chance toâŚâ you look back up at Fred Iâve drawn lots of you, and SiriusâŚand him from memoryâ you sniffle âThat ones my faviouriteâ you point to it
Fred stares down at it before looking up again âWhy give it to me?â he asks, heart heavy that this was you saying goodbye
âBecause then you can give it back to meâ
He folds up the drawing, carefully placing it in his inner pocket before bringing your lips to his. The kiss is slow, made up of multiple little kisses with whispered âI love yousâ slipping out in between them.Â
The kisses last a while, until your both hugging each other close, noses buried in each others neck
âI need to goâ you murmur, placing a chaste kiss to his skin
His heart drops but he nods, letting you off of his lap and accepting your hands as you hold them out. Even after heâs stood up his hands never leave yours, neither of you can let go.Â
Not just yet
âIâll see you againâ he says, holding your hands tighter, nodding
Iâll see her again
You smile as much as you can, nodding as well âUntil the next timeâ
There will be a next time
âUntil next timeâ he repeats your words, reluctantly letting your hands slip away
You turn away, beginning to walk when you look back, staring for a moment before running backup for one final embrace
âNext timeâ you whisper before pressing your lips to his
âNext timeâ he kisses you once more but a little harder, thumbs caressing your face
You kiss him one last time, softly, before parting and walking off quickly, knowing if you look back again or stay you would never leave.Â
Fred watches you walk away, taking his heart with him while yours remains here with him. As his hand moves to wipe the tears that fell the moment you turn the corner he feels something sticking out of his jacket pocket
Itâs a piece of paper similar to the one you gave him earlier. Opening it the years fall harder, it was a drawing of you while youâre laughing, itâs so beautiful, and in the corner is your writing
Joey drew this the week before he died. I want you to have it. It's been six months since I last saw you. I donât know how long it will be until we see each other again, if we see each other again, so I want you to remember me like this. Happy.
I love you Freddie
Always
âSheâll come backâ he holds it to his chest âShe going to come backâ
The next months were hard. In fact hard was an understatement when yourself and Timothy were paired with Greyback and his snatchers.Â
During that time you met Ted Tonks once more, a man you respected, yet you couldnât let him go free and that was a decision that would haunt you and Timothy forever. Greyback was the one that did it, something that was so cruel, so horrific it was beyond words. He waited until the full moon, set Ted free and hunted him like it was a sport. Bellatrix arrived the following morning but only to cackle over his body while you and timothy watched
You saw many things that made you lose faith at times. Timothy was always there though, and although Joey was gone you had his drawings, even the ones which held old conversations from potions. You would talk to them sometimes, perhaps it was on set insanity but it helped.
It kept you going
Now you were back at Hogwarts, shaky hands as you waited for Snape to give you both instructions that werenât a vague be within the castle walls as soon as you can
âWhere have you been?â You ask a little on edge Tim as he enters your old common room âOh no what?â you notice his face
âItâs happening, Harryâs here and the order has arrived tooâ he replies, looking beyond nervous "I think they've taken over the great hall but I didn't stick around to check"
You nod slowly taking a few breaths, heart racing that Fred was so close âGuess thatâs why he wanted us hereâ you take a seat on your old spot on the couches and Timothy joins you, leaving a space in the middle for where Joey once sat
You both look at the empty space and then each other
âHe should be hereâ he whispers
âYeahâ you nod âThough if he was heâd tell you that shirt looks terribleâ you canât stop the giggle
He scoffs âWell fuck you tooâ he starts chuckling too, looking down âSalazar it is terrible isn't itâŚwhy'dyou let me wear this?â he shakes his head
âYou didnât wash any othersâ you shrug
âCan you transfigure it?â he pleas âI canât die in thisâ
You let out a shocked laugh âI canât believe you just said that!âÂ
âWhat itâs true! Doesnât matter if both sides are gonna try and kill us, when they see this monstrosity theyâll be like letâs kill the wanker in the shit coloured shirtâ
You giggle at him but then your face falls a little âYou arenât going to dieâŚweâll make it outâ you say, looking serious before you crack a smile âCause Joe will never let us live it down if we dieâ
âYeah" he laughs "Heâd rip the pish out of us the moment we got there, wherever there isâ
âAnd say that shirt is a crime against fashionâ you giggle, taking your wand and muttering some spells to change the shirts colour
âBetter?â
âMuch thanksâ his fingers fiddle with the soft green material âMatches my eyesâŚwell one of themâÂ
âIâm not making the other half blue Tim. Then you would look like a right wankerâ Â
You both chuckle for a little while. Enjoying the small bit of normal you always found in each other. That was until you spot a bright light out of the common room window. Standing, you both make your way over, watching the light stretch down through the water to the bed below
âItâs weirdly beautifulâ Timothy notes watching the shimmer
You hum in agreement âI know itâs always been real. The war I mean. But now it feelsâŚâ
âReally realâ Timothy takes your hand âLike itâs the beginning of the endâ
"Yeah" you squeeze his hand before looking up at him âJust hope itâs the end we hope forâ
âIt will beâ he stares out of the window for a second and takes a deep breath, then he turns to you âLove youâ he gives you the best smile he can muster
âMe tooâ you nod
âYou love yourself?â he teases earning a playful hit
âArseholeâ
Fred made his way up the stairs, following Remus, Tonks, and the elder of his family, George walked beside him but it was quiet. Air feeling so thick it was almost suffocating. Everyone he loved was here except you, he had no idea where you were. Where are you in the castle? Outside the barrier? Worse?
âYou alright?â his twin whispers as they get to the top
He wants to say no, Iâm not okay, I have no idea if the love of my life is alright, but he can't, instead he lies
âYeahâŚyou?â he asks, walking outside towards the balcony of the tower
âYeahâ George gives a firm nod, hands finding the wall âNice viewâ
âSeen betterâ that makes George chuckle
They watch the spells hit the barrier. It was beautiful in its own way, like the calm before a storm, yet the storm is always inevitable and rips away everything
But you can only hope its not everything
Georges drift to the side âLooks like someones trying to cheer us upâ he chuckles drawing Fredâs attention
âWhaâŚâ he starts to ask when he sees it, a patronus, your patronus
He smiles
âKinda looks like Siriusâ in his dog formâ George notes âThink itâs Remusâ they were thing once weren't they?âÂ
âCould beâ Fred shrugs âIâll go see, be back in a jiffâ Fred pats his twins shoulder as he passes, walking towards the dancing light, following the dog as it patters back into the tower and down one flight of stairs, eventually disappearing behind a tapestry
His heart does a little skip wanting nothing more than to run in but he holds himself back, glancing around to check no one can see him before he enters slowly
âLove?â he whispers looking around until his eyes fall on you, leaning on the small window as you stared out âLoveâ he repeats a little louder
That gains your attention and you waste no time making your way over to him âHiâ you greet, trying to stop your hands from shaking
Fred takes them in his âHiâ he says, thumbs smoothing over your knucklesÂ
âI love you so muchâ you canât stop the tears as they were already falling, your hands slipping out of his and cupping his cheeks shocking him a little but then his own chase yours, grasping your wrists
âI love you tooâ he squeezes them, worry swarming in his stomach at how broken you look âWhatâs going on? Do they know you're a spy? They get Timothy?â he asks mildly frantic
âNo nothing like that they have no ideaâŚalthough theyâll know soon enoughâ you assure him before taking a breath
âThen what is it?â he asks softly
âYou know when we said no promises? Because life's so unpredictable there's little chance weâll be able to keep themâ he nods âI need you to not to necessarily promise, but tell me you wonât get yourself killed. That weâll make it out and weâll get married and have a life together. A beautiful messy, chaotic life togetherâÂ
He can feel the tears hitting his hands as he answers âI promiseâ his own eyes wateringÂ
âWeâre so close to the endâ you say with a shaky voice âWeâve come too far to lose it all now...I can't...â you take a sharp breath trying to compose yourself
âAnd we wonât" he wipes your tears and cups your face "When this is over, I'm going to ask you to marry me, and youâll...hopefully..." you giggle "...say yes, and then weâll move into a weird and wacky cottage, raise children if we want them and then grow old and grey togetherâ
âGoodâ you smile at him, nodding as your hands fall from his cheek and wrap around his torso while his slither around you, holding you tight
You held each other for less than a minute but it felt like a small eternity. The first and last promise you would ever make to each other spoken in that little hideaway, and when you parted, watched Fred walk back up the stairs and you headed down to meet Timothy again, you both hoped it wouldn't be broken
Because if it was, neither of you would survive it
âTim!â you shout, flicking a spell towards one of Greybacks snatchers
Running down the hall you found yourself near Gryffindor tower once more, yet you couldnât worry about Fred. You had to find Timothy, Fred had the order looking out for him while you and Timothy only had one another. Everyone was out for you. In fact you had saved Remus from a death eater only to be spotted by Tonks soon after and almost killed whilst trying to slip away
âTimâ you say mostly for yourself, frantically looking around when you see a flash of red hair
Percy
He was fighting death eaters who had forced their way through what must have been one of the not so secret passages. He hadnât seen you as you continued down the corridor towards him, hoping Timothy was just behind or in front of you.
You couldnât head back now there were too many looking for you
You movements stopped though when you saw him âFredâ you see him join Percy's side
Of course heâs laughing, you think as you draw closerâŚthen you see it
A death eater pointing his wand towards Percy and Fred through the windows of the corridors. You didnât think just ran towards them. Percy was a little closer to the impact zone as the spell hit the wall, blowing up the bricks and sending most of it down and towards Fred and you guessed now, yourself
They hadnât noticed your approach, reactions delayed until Percy was flung backwards and down a flight of stairs when you were a mere metre from Fred
You turned your body towards the falling wall yelling âRetcuto!â the spell vaporising the wall and the impact of which sending you and Fred flying deeper down the corridor, landing next to one another as smaller debris lands almost softly around you
âFuckâ Fred groans, wand still in his hand as he processes what just happened âPercy!â he shoots up, ignoring the sting as he looks to the side, not seeing his brother but you wincing on your side âY/nâŚY/n!â he says the first in shock and the second in alarm scooping you into his arms
Fred ignores the calls of his name from not only Percy but Ron and Harry who seem to have stumbled upon them, the small well of rubble blocking their view. Your eyes open, panting heavy and he thinks youâre going to say something sweet, maybe a cute a hello, but instead you hit him multiple times in the shoulder whilst sitting up as best you can with his help
âYou had one job, Weasley!â you scold him, earning a shocked laugh
âWe almost die and youâre shouting at me?âÂ
âYes, you complete arseâ you were laughing now as well hitting him between words while he just chuckled "You promised"
âI know my snake in not so shiny armourâ he quips even if his heart hurts that at the idea that without you he would be dead
His joke earns another nudge but then you wince again, face scrunching
âYou okay?â his brows knit, smile dropping to concern as his hand moves to your side only to feel some wetness âMerlinâ he gasps looking down, realising some of the glass from the window had hit your side
âThat isnât goodâ you press your hand to the area, feeling the blood seeping out too quickly before looking at him âFreddie IâŚâ the adrenaline was wearing off now, the pain was searing and you were quickly feeling faint â...I feel a littleâŚâ you canât finish but he understands
âStay with me okay?â he cups your cheek, some bloods smearing across it
âFred when we call youâŚanswerâ Percy starts a little intense and finishes with a whisper âWho?â he canât quite see your face
âFred weâŚâ Ron and Harry jog up after throwing a few covering spells â...is that...â Ron trails off
Your head falls into Freds chest, unable to hold yourself up âY/n love I need to you stay awakeâ Fred was panicking now, still ignoring his family as tears stream "Please we promised" he whispers kissing your temple when your eyes won't open
âFred we need to go!â Ron shouts in an almost uncaring manner
âNo!â Fred bites back with a tone none of them had ever heard, scaring them âHelp me get her somewhere safeâ
âShes a deathâŚâ
âOne more word and I will never speak to you againâ he warns his younger brother while Percy has already moved to help
âIf you can carry her Iâll defend you. We can hide behind one of the statues until it dies down enough to go to the great hall, okay?â he says softly, kneeling down
Fred nods, lifting you up with a little help from Percy
âGot her?â he checks and Fred nods
âWeâll helpâ Harry chips in, earning a thankful look from Fred, a nod from Percy and a baffled look from Ron
âHarryâ Ron shakes his head shrugging
âJust come onâ Harry doesnât bother to argue just follows âWeâll talk about it laterâ
Fred was in the great hall now, crouching by your small bed on the floor and watching Madam Pomfrey work. His family were slowly making their way in, all in sheer panic for a moment until they see him and Percy who was sitting nearby
âWill she be okay?â he looks hopefully at the nurse when she stands
She nods âYes, the wound isnât magical nor was it deep so she will be fine. Normally I wouldnât say she shouldnât walk when she wakes up but given the circumstances Mr Weasley if she wants to fight she canâ the older women tells him before taking her leave, answering quickly as she simply didnât have the time
âFreddie!â his head shoots up at his twins voice, clambering to his feet to hug him tightly
âThank merlinâ Fred breaths out, pulling back and cupping his brothers face âThought I'd lost you in chaosâ
âCanât get rid of me that easilyâ George chuckles, pulling him in for another hug before Fred parts and bear hugs Ginny, followed by Charlie, Bill, Fleur and his parents, whilst percy does something similar
The reunion however is cut short when Tonks approaches with Remus not long behind her
âWhy is she here?â the small group looks towards them, the pink-haired women looking rather upset while the ex professor seemed sad
Remus had regarded you in a similar way to Sirius, even if he had grown disappointed in you since your âbetrayalâ, he still felt sick to his stomach seeing you hurt
âSheâs a death eaterâŚshe has the markâ Tonks points towards the peaking of black ink under your scrunched sleeve
âDoraâ Remus says lowly, looking around as the word must draw attention yet no one is looking their way, instead they're looking at some members of the order pointing their wand at Timothy Greengrass
âLower your wands there is a brief truceâ Kinsley commands to which their wands are reluctantly put away âYou try anything and Imean anything, I will not be as understandingâ he warns
Timothy nods wearing a thankful smile as he walks deeper into the hall. Eyes searching the room before the fall on Fred, making his way towards him quickly to ask if he had seen you when he sees your body laying there
âNoâ he whispers to himself, eyes widening and not caring about his knees as he hits the stone floor beside you âWhat happened?â he looks around but mostly towards Fred looking beyond worried
âShe saved me from being hit by the wall but a shard of glass was embedded in her sideâ
Fred glances at his family, few seemed between sympathetic at Timothy and surprised you saved him, Remus evening wears a tiny twitch of a smile. Yet the ones he wanted to be wore no such thing. His mother and twinâs expressions remained hard, although they did waver a little upon hearing the first half
Timothy's face is still painted with worry âWill she be okay?â he asks, relaxing when Fred nods
âShe saved your life?â Bill is the first to speak, most level headed as he wraps his arm around Fleur, holding her close to him
Fred nods âShe didâÂ
âWhy?â George asks a little sharpyÂ
âBecause she loves meâ Fred answers like it was obvious
Again his elder brothers and Remus seem soft towards it, like they can believe it, his father does as well but he remains neutral due to Molly who scoffs along with Tonks and George. Ginny seems somewhere in between and partially in her own world, her mind most likely preoccupied in worrying about Harry
âNo she doesnât. She broke your heart and ran off to join the death eaters. Since then I have watched you for the last two years mope around over her. Sheâs a traitor Freddie...pleaseâ George pleads like he thinks he doing the right thing but it only makes Fred upset
Fred shakes his head âShe isnâtâ he says shortly âNeither is Timothyâ he adds, earning a grateful smile from the boy as he holds your hand, thumbing circles in it to comfort you but mostly himself
âYouâre madâ Tonks states âTheyâre traitors plain and simple, youâre just blinded by your misplaced affectionsâ
âNoâ Fred glares at her âTheyâve beenâŚâ he stops himself, glancing at Timothy who nods, letting him know it's alright to tell everyone now âTheyâve been working undercoverâ
She scoffs along with Molly who seems to only be quiet due to Arthur's hand in hers, while Georgeâ head tilts and the rest of the weasley, plus Remus, listen carefully
âUndercover?â Tonks crosses her arms looking sceptical, while his mothers is closer to disappointment âDidnât feel that way when their other little friend came after me and your younger brotherâÂ
Timothy grimaces at them mention of his late friend, more so at the question thrown towards himÂ
âWhere is he anyway?â She looks right at him âAlmost killed us along with my crazy auntâ
Timothy sighs, heart aching âHeâŚhe didnât make itâ he looks away from them and to you
Remus watches the boy carefully, as does Fredâs elder brothers, Fleur and Arthur, all noting the grief and how he holds your hand just that little bit tighter. Tonks however flushes slightly, guilt beginning to swarm her stomach as she thinks back to the blasting spell she sent his way before she and Ron used the port key
âWho knew you were undercover?â Remus asks calmly, recognising something he felt all too well in the boy before him
âSirius knew we were to gain info in our final year, but when he died Dumbledore and Mad-eye sent me, y/n andâŚJoe uncover. Our mission was to imbed ourselves along with Snape, feed the order information and when the time came, turn against themâ
âYou caused the death of my fatherâ Tonks interjects âIf you were really on our side why would youâŚhow could you...â she canât finish, trailing off but the boy understands what sheâs asking
âIâm sorry about your father. Truly. Itâs something I can never forgive myself for, nor do I even deserve it for playing a role in it, and Iâm so, so sorryâ he says so genuinely they all believe it, at least on some level âNot that it helps but GreybackâŚâ Remus grimaces at the name ââŚthe one that murdered him, wonât be hurting anyone else ever againâ
âHeâs dead?â Remus asks, eyes wide and lips parted
âYes. I checked myself when he fell during mine and y/nâs tussle with himâŚbut then I lost her in the chaos that ensued afterward. The other snatchers in his pack sought revenge ya seeâ Timothy explains and Remus looks like a weight has been lifted off of him âThereâs no proof besides Fred and of course Snape's knowledge with Mad-eye and Dumblerdore dead. But if me and y/n were being honest we have no idea what Snapes mission really is...was? He was always so...cryptic. We had no idea he would kill Dumbledore, nor that we would be forced to fight against you all in the battle of the potters, or work with the snatchers and that monsterâ
They all nod slowly, taking the information in while George turns to Fred whose now moved to sit beside you once more, taking your other hand and stroking your cheek gently
âYou knew the whole time?â he asks and Fred turns to his brother, his whole family and his friends awaiting his answer
âJust after Siriusâ death and before she 'turned', she sat me down. Explained the mission and everything she had been doing at Hogwarts while we were all off playing hero with the DA. After which she offered me a choice. She could obliviate me or I could remember but never tell anyoneâ
âDo you have any idea how dangerous that was!â his mother finally speaks up âYou could have gotten yourself killed!â Arthur wraps his arm around her, rubbing her back to try and soothe her nerves
âI know but I didnât mumâ he answers simply, calmly, a stark contrast to his usual demeanour and it makes his mother listen âI love her, really love her. Sheâs the bravest person Iâve ever metâ he turns to Timothy âAs are you, and of course Joeyâ he turns back to the other while Timothy smiles âThey were the ones leaking information, information that saved more than we lost. They risked everything to help us even after Mad-eye died and they were all on their own, merlin they all were forced to get the dark markâŚâ his eyes trail down to it, fingers glazing it
âShe might have been lyingâ Tonks says but her voice is softer, less angry than she was before
âMaybe but I believe itâ Percy states âI believe youâ he says meeting Fredâs eyes
âSo do Iâ Remus adds, earning a quizzical look from Nymphadora before she says a quiet âMe tooâ
âMe Threeâ Bill winksÂ
âFourâ Fleur adds cuddling into her husband
âFiveâ Charlie says with a nod
âSixâ is from Arthur
âSix and a halfâ Molly grumbles lowly, earning a small chuckle from the small group
âSevenâ Ginny smiles
âEightâ George finishes âI believe youâ he kneels down next to Fred taking his hand âI always believe youâ his head taps his twins
âThank youâ he says mostly to George but then turns to the others "You won't regret it, believing" he smiles and they smile back
Your whine however brings his, and Timothy's attention back, their grips on your hands tightening while the rest of the small crowd step back and sit among themselves, except George who stays by his brothers side and Remus who takes a seat on Timothy's other side
âY/n love?â Fred calls softly as your eyes flutter open
âYeah?â your head turns to him, not really aware of your surroundings just yet
âYou had one job future Weasleyâ he scolds lightly and you giggle
âWell if you had done yours I wouldnât be in this predicamentâ you clap back before your eyes widen
âWhat?â Fred asks but your already sitting up way too quickly, side stinging but you couldnât care less
âTim! I need to find himâ you say trying to stand up when the boy your looking for places his hand on your shoulder stopping you
âIâm hereâ he assures you âIâm alright, I'm okayâÂ
You sigh in relief, leaning into him a little bit âI couldnât lose you tooâ you breath out
âYou didnâtâŚyou havenât lost either of us sunshineâ he gives you a smile and then looks toward Fred
Your boyfriend smiles back at the boy before his focus returns to you âWeâre keeping our promise donât you worry loveâ his nose nudges into your hair
Timothy lets go of your hand then, letting Freds arms engulf you as your head buries itself into his chest âI love youâ your murmur so only Fred can hear
âLove you tooâ he whispers as he pulls back, digging into his pocket and bringing it out just enough for you to see âIâve carried it everyday. And when we win Iâm going to give it back ask you something very importantâ he tells you
Your heart flutters âYesâ you whisper to which George, who could totally hear everything, lets out a small smile
âYouâre supposed to let me ask firstâ Fred scrunches his nose at you
âFreddie itâs been a yes since we were 17â you inform him, placing a sweet kiss to his lips
âWhatâs going on here?â Ron asks approaching with Hermione, both staring at your and Fred as you part
âY/nâs injuredâ Remus answers for you
Your head whips around to him, surprised âHiâ you whisper, wincing at the idea of how disappointment he must be in you
âHeyâ He gives you a warm smile âHeâd be really proud you knowâŚIâm proudâ he tells you, eyes a little glassy
You nod, heart warming as you turn back to Fred and Timothy, both helping you stand up as they know there would be no stopping you from continuing the fightÂ
âI know sheâs injuredâ Ron replies a little mumbly âI mean why is everyone okay with her...and him hereâ he motions to you and Timothy, Hermion nodding next to him
âY/n and Timothy have been working as spies little brotherâ Bill states, the whole clan turning to look at two thirds of the famous trio
Hermione and Ron look at him baffled, and then eye you and Timothy for a second. They have questions, of course they do, a boat load in fact but their was no time for that right now, their were more pressing concerns
âHas anyone seen Harry?â Remusâ face instantly pales âHe went up to Dumbledoreâs office but he never came backâ Hermione asks, looking concerned as her hand finds Rons
âYou donât think he turned himself over do you?â Someone asks, and while everyone looks at each other in a quiet worry all Remus can think is thatâs exactly what James would do
